TBH I will be surprised if Supergirl really ends up being a part of the Arrowverse, the only way it seems it could make sense at this point is if they do the Flashpoint like time travel fuckery because there's just too much to reconcile without it.

I dont know how this show will be as good without Dr. Wells. I think the actor is fantastic and no idea how he will be replaced as the "boss" of star labs.

my thoughts are this.
if they blew all of their good ideas in the first season well I can always rewatch one of the best first seasons in tv history.

if they didn't and have stuff to make great other seasons... well then I get to watch more great flash episodes.

either way... I am very happy they did the first season the way they did.

The benefit to the season ending is we finally get the soundtrack! Barry's theme! Weather Wizard theme! Reverse Flash remix!

The Reverse Flash theme is killer. I expect to hear some good themes in the last few episodes too. The music for the flash has been pretty amazing all around.

Yeah I'm with you on this. I love that they haven't held anything back with this first season. There's so many things they could have held back for later seasons but they're philosophy seems to be why wait when we can do it now.

I'd be surprised if they don't handwave it and have the original Dr Wells running Star Labs next year. They can do the 'can we trust him?' angle, he can earn the teams faith, and as we don't know much about the original character we're not entirely sure whether he can be trusted.

Here's the great thing about rewatching shows: you can pick and choose what you like. And later seasons don't invalidate the goodness of earlier stuff. Early Dexter is still solid no matter how much S8 sucked. Smallville is a fantastic show when you just watch the 4-5 episodes per season that actually matter.

Aye. Smallville 'Transference' is a damn good episode of TV, by any stretch.

Reckoning is still one of my favorite episodes of any TV show. Love John Schneider's Jonathan Kent.

He's by far the best version of that character, and a clear inspiration for how good Joe is on Flash. It says a lot that him leaving hurt Smallville, given it was never a flashy or obvious role and at times seemed like he was just giving Clark platitudes.

Those of you defending her are hilarious. He did it to protect her. The same way almost every super hero does.. They don't tell their loved ones their secret about being a superhero.

But he told everyone else.

Literally everyone else in the cast knows.

Hide your sexism better.

If she gets overly mad and holds a grudge, I officially give up on her. Like who the fuck are you? Us Growing up together and me being in love with you makes it all so much harder to tell you I'm the fucking flash. I hate people who feel like they must know everything about someone and when they don't that relationship goes sideways.

Welp, so we're not actually talking about the show anymore, are we?

That strong moral influence is a huge part of believing how Superman could become the hero he is. Man of Steel - a movie I like more than most - confused the hell of me by flipping that and seemingly making Jor-El the moral figure and Jonathan Kent someone who would see others day before Clark exposes himself. Especially with Crowe and Costner's casting. Seemed like they were being different just for the sake of it.

It was also weird at the time, with shows like Buffy and their 'Dads suck' attitude to see a positive male role model on TV. I mean I get why Oliver has Daddy issues, but there's something great about Smallville and The Flash presenting parents as genuinely good people with their own flaws.

That's not necessarily true. How I Met Your Mother's finale, for example, ruins the whole show, making even reruns nigh unwatchable. It just doesn't usually happen, but it can.

I don't agree with that. Compartmentalize and ignore the final episode. I don't think the early seasons stop being funny.

Then the show ends up being How I Met No One.

Well assume he meets the mother and that she doesn't die or something? I don't see how a crappy ending makes things like Barney's exploits or Marshall and Lily's shenanigans less funny. It's a comedy first and foremost, those things are still enjoyable on their own.

I'm guessing Barry saves his mom, but time travel law required someone else to die instead. Maybe Joe dies and then Iris becomes the Flash instead.

To bad it is a body transfer, and not mind. It could explain a mixed Wells.

I can't see them ditching Tom C. The dude is a damn good actor, and he'd be great as OG Wells. Especially if you keep Tess dead; then you can still have Wells be different to the happy go lucky guy he was in the flashbacks. And build tension when he realises Barry can time-travel and begs him to save Tess.

Yup.

can anyone explain to me why cisco says "mazel tov", i know the meaning of the word but why did he said it at that moment? is there a certain thing he was referring to? ohh and please do not answer with the speed force gif, kinda getting old already

Isn't it primarily said at weddings? The newspaper implied barry and iris were married.

i thought the same but the tone of cisco saying it has me doubting, it was more a question than anything else, weird, maybe im putting to much thought in to it lol
Its because its a really weird situation.
1. You don't want to know stuff like that about the future.
2. Person in question is currently in a close relationship with someone else.

I wouldn't be surprised if DC at SDCC designates Earths for TV, Movie and Game universes. Kinda like how they do with comics.

Imagine Ezra Miller in Justice League running through the speedforce, and he looks left and sees Grant Gustin running looking at him. Thats the kind of nod that'll probably happen.

Lol

That would be awesome, a girl flash :)

I think when he does go back in time to save his mom, it will have a huge butterfly effect and the future will be similar, to a certain extent, but also completely different.

Something horrible and so catastrophic that Barry will have no choice but to go back, stop the Barry that went back in time in the first place to save her, and let his mom die.

I still think he's going to try and save her. Just not now

I can't believe this season is almost over. The break for season 2 is going to be painful

I'm not sure if you're joking or not but this is the exact plot of Flashpoint Paradox.

Careful if you're worried about spoilers.

Young Justice is Earth-16, so it wouldn't be without precedent.

Not anymore. The Multiversity Guidebook revealed YJ lost it's designation. The DCAU, however, is now Earth 12 (currently in the Beyond era), and the Justice Lords from JLU are Earth 50.

Earths 14, 24, 25, 27, 28, 46, and 49 are all free for the taking.

Well....there is precedent for it...

the show keeps on doing this weird and obnoxious thing where Joe and everyone else crowds out Iris' decision-making process, effectively telling us her choices don't matter and deserve zero respect

ugh

Next season, she'll be the best character and everyone will hate Cisco.

And then S3 happens she will be one of the best characters,
Barry will be unlikable, Joe will be ruined, Caitlin will suck, Wells will look like a chump,
Finally the main villain will be a Superman villain which will then rip two major plotlines directly from Superman.

damn, just got spoiled new 52 flash... oh well!

Expecting the season finale to end with Barry running so fast he causes a flashpoint paradox. Flash of light, wakes up in his old house, walks down stairs and sees his mom making breakfast.

but now that we have precursors from the future of their romantic relationship and marriage, Iris' actual thoughts and concerns mean even less than nothing now; they've placed her character in an even worse position than before

RF changed the timeline by making Barry The Flash a lot earlier than he was supposed to. The stuff on the paper might no even happen. Heck even Barry messed with the timeline when he prevented the tsunami, and he might fuck it even more if he tries to safe his mom and succeeds. Nothing is really set yet.

I can almost guarantee that at some point during the final episodes Barry will look at the paper and with the future fading in to something better, the hyphenated "-Allen" will fade away from Iris' name.

Also, Cisco will be on the verge of tears with EVERY sentence.
