The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast - Tuesdays 8/7c

RF changed the timeline by making Barry The Flash a lot earlier than he was supposed to. The stuff on the paper might no even happen. Heck even Barry messed with the timeline when he prevented the tsunami, and he might fuck it even more if he tries to safe his mom and succeeds. Nothing is really set yet.

The show has shown that if the events in the present change the timeline, it's reflected by the newspaper changing. So as of the moment they saw the paper, everything was still destined to happen as shown on it.

It could always change between now and then but nothing currently suggests it will.

Man, I'm really worried it won't be able to sustain quality. Wells is a fantastic villain.

Even if season 2 is high quality I'm worried the villain won't be as good. Wells is one of the best live action comic book villains period. Also I love how even though we know he's Eobard Thawne we all still call him Wells. They've really left their mark on the reverse flash with this show.

the show keeps on doing this weird and obnoxious thing where Joe and everyone else crowds out Iris' decision-making process, effectively telling us her choices don't matter and deserve zero respect

ugh

No its been totally super sexist the last couple weeks and its the only (huge) blemish on an otherwise awesome show. I really want it to blow up in their faces hard

Look I agree keeping Iris out of the loop is doing more harm than good at this point, she needs to know she'll be targeted but I wouldn't call the show sexist. It's pretty easy to see how an cop dad in a world of superpowers would be inclined to freak out and be over protective. Sure everyone else knows about Barry but they're cops or scientists or fellow mets humans. Iris is probably the most vulnerable character in the show, along with maybe Stein's wife.

Season 2: Wells returns to life and takes over Eobard's consciousness (temporarily), now we have a new character. Speed force aint gotta explain shit etc. reasoning

Wow just tried reading on the flash family and holy shit that is some convoluted crap.

I really hope the show doesnt fall too much into this time travel stuff.

If you're anything like me and been living in Ultron land the past two days, you might have totally missed this (a new final episodes trailer)

Proceed with caution, lots of
Iris and Grodd
goodness... er... SPOILERS

I got so excited for a second lol. It's not a trailer for the final episodes just the extended promo the next episode. Still for those that haven't seen it there's some good stuff in it. I wish it was tuesday now.

So in this promo, why do we think they're
using the particle accelerator again? It's very likely this is how Caitlin and Cisco get their powers. Maybe it splits Ronnie and Stein too.

Remember when wells took a blood sample from the metahuman that could drain barry's power? Maybe he's created something with it and takes barry's speed away. We see him messing with something in the grodd lives promo so I think it's possible.

Catching up with this, up to ep.13 and i'm enjoying it a lot

Daredevil is next but i'm wondering if i should give Arrow a go as well...does the shows spoiler each others? being a spin off and all

There is quite a bit of overlap between both shows, like characters that meet up having consequences in the other show.

They bleed into each other a bit, but you could watch The Flash without watching Arrow. It's worth watching Seasons 1 and 2.
Daredevil is much shorter, tighter, and a better experience though so stay with your plan

What if he gives Barry's Flash powers to Eddie!?

edit:
AND WHAT IF HIS "INSURANCE" is taking Eddie's body!?

It was also weird at the time, with shows like Buffy and their 'Dads suck' attitude to see a positive male role model on TV. I mean I get why Oliver has Daddy issues, but there's something great about Smallville and The Flash presenting parents as genuinely good people with their own flaws.

Umm.. excuse me, what? Giles says hi.

The show Heroes kept Sylar on and turned him into a sort of hero after he was finally defeated. They can always find a way to keep Wells whether he is still Thawn or not.

But stuff like that ruined Sylar. It would go against Thawne's character to be goodie-goodie with The Flash.

I don't think he actually watched the show. There was no "Dads suck" attitude. Some dads/father figures were cool, some were assholes. Same with the moms/mother figures

Yea that makes more sense. Just a completely nonsensical takeaway lol.

On topic: Everyone said it already but damn that "...Barry?" moment was so dumb. I cringe so much these days during Arrow and Flash but I have to keep watching to see if this goes anywhere that can be considered redeemable.

It did ruin him, but Quinto was the best thing on that show.

Definitely my favorite bad guy in a TV series before Wells. Dude just had that evilness to him.

One night I was rushing to my friends house to watch a new episode of Heroes that was going to air. At the corner, while waiting for the traffic light at the crosswalk, Zachary Quinto and some dude were standing right next to me waiting. I did a double take and was creeped the fuck out lol. Here I am rushing to see this show, and there's Sylar standing next to me.

Got to my friends house with the "just seen a ghost" face lol

NYC btw

Oh wow, love how diversive the show is, gay Captain was a nice surprise

Also, this episode #15 is fuckin amazing

hooooooooooooly shit, dat ending

Always great to see reactions to that episode. Truly great stuff.

And it obviously happens without him knowing about the yellow suit guy

Wasn't expecting to get so enthralled with this, it's really hardfor comic related stuff to grab me i noticed

Thawne's character can 'end', and Wells can keep going. Remember, there's an actual Wells that was an actual scientist. They could change the timeline, so Thawne's defeated back when Barry's mom is supposed to die, and that would 'revive' the original Wells.

I just wonder if Cavanagh would want to do that. He's said he didn't want to do the role when they pitched it to him as just a scientist in a wheel chair. It was only when they told him he'd be the reverse flash that he really got interested. However after a year of working with these people it's very possible he'd be fine with doing it now.

I rolled my eyes so hard during that part. You could totally tell the writers were going "these are not the droids you're looking for" there and hoped it would land emotionally or something. ^^

If there's no accident, there's no need for the wheelchair, right?

No accident, no wheelchair.
