Honestly couldn't have said it better myself. I knew this was exactly how it was going to play out. It was fun watching this with friends who had never seen a mayweather fight. I was with like 15 people. Everyone including myself rooting for pac. But I knew mayweather wasn't going to lose. God I can't stand him or the way he fights, but he knows how to play the system. i was really disappointed to see how pac was acting after the fight. Almost like he didn't care. Him saying that he thought he won the fight seemed so forced.

It's not that acted like he didn't care, he knew he lost, his corner knew he lost, and in this fight he had nothing to lose, he wasn't the 47-0 guy going into the fight saying he was the best

You just have to know what youre getting yourself into.

People buy a Mayweather fight and get mad when they're surprised its a fight where Mayweather is a masterful tactician with nearly impeccable defense and reflexes.

Its like people buying a UFC card with Mighty Mouse on it and then complaining they found it boring. Or people actually leaving the arena as it happens.

There are still plenty of good exciting boxers just as there many exciting and good mma fighters

Boring is subjective, I find all no-combat sports extremely boring.

Pure fucking insanity to say Floyd isn't Top 15 or 20, come on.

His era was soft... blah blah... he fought guys outside their prime... blah blah...

At least they can't say "he ducked Pac-Man" now.

No matter what you're feelings on the man, and they're justifiable I know, he is the best pure fundamental defensive fighter ever. 48-0 speaks for itself.

Total zero as a person, totally brilliant as a fighter. It's okay to admit that.

Boring as fuck fight, but Mayweather clearly won that. He's the MvC2/3S Justin Wong of boxing

mma is great get into it.

UFC is pretty much dead too.

With Jon Jones gone, all you got is Rhousey and the womens division is filled with fighters who are terrible at fighting.

The response to this fight makes me wonder how the match up even got hype in the first place. Like this was how anybody who has seen Mayweather expected this fight to go down and this is how the fight was going to go down 5 years ago. Pac/Mayweather is the best sell of a fight ever because most of the people who watched this thing had no idea what they were paying for apparently.

How was the fight "trash" when Floyd did pretty much the same things that has led him to be undefeated? Did you expect a punch-fest? Wow, some people.

I have a feeling this fight brought in a lot of people who don't really pay attention to boxing and expected a brawl. It was your typical Mayweather outing. Defensive, landed more punches and overall just executed. I enjoyed the fight for that alone because he executed to damn near perfection.

Thought i'd post this for fight fans. This is what happens when a boxer enters another fight sport in this case kickboxing. It's not MMA but the result is not what you think. Although
Yoel Judah
had hands in his prime. It's only 3 minutes long.

But yeah... Anyone who found the fight boring is a casual who knows nothing of the sport right? Keep telling yourselves that. Not sure what you are trying to prove, but keep on keeping on.

People were just looking to be entertained is all. And we really didn't get that. I sort of wish I were a Pac fan, at least I could be salty. I could even wish to be a May fan, then I could gloat. But without either of those, just looking at the fight for the sport of it? Snooze fest.

Well, it certainly seems like people are just responding to valid criticisms of boring with "salt" or "casual" because that's about all they can say.

"Wow May looks scared"

He sure did

"I hope the wife abuser loses"

Wasn't Manny quoted saying all the homos should be killed... or something like that. So Domestic Violence>Mass Murder...

"all he did was run away"

Yet somehow threw and landed more punches....

That is what this thread is filled with. So yeah SALT isn't all that I can say. But how much effort should have really been put into responding to these dumb comments.

Like some others have said, I think it was less about expecting Mayweather to change things up and more about expecting/hoping for Manny to really surprise everyone. The intensity just wasn't there though.

Mayweather is for sure an all time great boxer, I don't see how you can say otherwise. He may be awful to watch, but the man's defensive game is on a level above basically anyone ever.

Even with my huge preference on offensive based fighters and my dislike of Floyd no way I can take that away from him. He's technically brilliant.

Im filipino and am of course a fan of manny, but the truth is that Manny just doesnt have the focus anymore to beat mayweather. Manny can say all he wants about how having his family and friends with him during his training camp gives him strength or whatever but he was clearly distracted by them and this fight is the result. Against any other boxer maybe he doesnt need to give 100 percent of himself to have a chance to win but against floyd that isnt going to fly, hes just too good. I just wished it was a closer fight so he could get a rematch right away but the way the fight turned out I dont know about a rematch.

I agree. His training was a fan show the whole way. He needed to retreat to solitude and focus on training without having to entertain others and sign autographs half the time.

I mean, to be fair, there is deeper scoring than just punchy punchy. The REAL boxing scoring isn't sexy, and sex sells.

So it was a terrible fight, but if you are down with the technical aspects of the game, you can probably appreciate Mayweather more.

I don't know why this fight got so much attention suddenly. I can only attribute it to random knee-jerk facebook shares, people who don't know anything about boxing talking about it because it's the thing to talk about. It also explains all the complaints. This is boxing, it's not Rocky III.

Or maybe some people lacked what Mayweather exhibits. TMT. Such BS.

The fight got hype because folks hate Mayweather, pure and simple. Just search the nword on Twitter to see that. I had predicted he would win easily 5 years ago, and he won easily tonight. Wasn't really forced to be aggressive, just land counter right hands and jab. Folks say he ran, but he was avoiding any shenanigans with the judging, which would've come into play if he allowed pacman to pound on him when he backed into the ropes. I never doubted May because above all his skills, he is great at adapting. He never had to deviate from plan A.

Don't know how anyone would pick Paq to win this. Only reason Floyd agreed to this fight after all this time is because he was confident he'd win. Had he perceived Manny as a legitimate threat, he would have stalled longer.

Only challenge to Floyd is someone with better footwork, longer reach, and better counter. No one like that exists currently in the class.

The fight was billed "The Fight of the Century". It was boring. People are saying it's boring. Maybe you should take something like, "Hmm, maybe boxing isn't as appealing to the general population than I thought" instead of, "What did you expect?!" Boxing hasn't been main stream relevant for a while. We know of some boxer's names but their prime is long gone. We know who Mike Tyson is but I doubt most people who watched this have seen him box. People bought into the hype and were disappointed. They called it boring. Accept that.

It's like being shocked young people don't know much about baseball even though the sport has a median age of like 50.

I remember when Lennox Lews/Tyson/Evander all stopped boxing and no one really filled their shoes in heavyweight so everyone was all stoked about welterweight...

Well now that's probably dead too.

I'd place blame on marketing. "Fight of the century" and then the fight ends with no knockdowns or anything. Yeah, people tuning in for the first time are going to be disappointed. If that was the "fight of the century" then what was the old Ali stuff? Fight of the millennium?

And i'd place the blame on people not doing their due dilligence before putting money down.

Marketing did exactly what it was supposed to do.
