SFV is exclusive to PS4/PC, But what about SSFV or USFV?

Let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little f***** up maybe.

Is Sony Co-funding and co-developing the game with Capcom?

Is Sony's Involvement with Capcom on the proyect similar to the Bloodborne proyect with FS?

This mean NO SSFV or USFV on Xbox One in the future?

How old is Mike Ross?

There's no way of knowing and this thread will probably spark a debate on both sides regardless. I'd lean towards probably still exclusive depending on hos heavily involved Sony is with the base game but it is simply way too early to know about this stuff.

Mike Ross is 732 years old I think.

Sony is funding the game and Capcom isn't doing disc-only revisions anymore after MVC3

Without the details on the deal anything is fair game but I would not expect anything in the foreseeable future if at all

They said it was exclusive for the life of the title at PSX which I took to mean the Super and Ultra versions would be exclusive as well.

That'd be my guess since they've done that every time in their history with Street Fighter.

True, depends who's ultimately calling the shots. If it's Capcom, expect them. If it's Sony, I could see them seeing more value in the GaaS approach.

I thought they were pretty clear about SF5 never being on another platform.

Capcom will not release SSF5 as a separate game like they did SSFIV or UMVC3. They learned that lesson. If it happens, it will be a DLC title update like AE or USF4.

If Sony was funding ths project, then why would they release it for PC? Makes more sense it would be exclusive like Bloodborne.

Yeah, exclusive for the life of the title is pretty damn clear.

A rumor that popped up after the announcement claimed that they wouldn't be releasing Ultra or Super for SF5. They apparently want to move toward a single release that they continually upgrade like a MOBA. That rumor also stated that it was running on UE4, so that does lend some credibility to it.

I think this situation is different as Sony is part owner of SFV afaik. SSFV has to be built on this game, I don't think we'll see multiplat SSFV's.

They're trying to expand the genre to different markets where PC is king. South Korea, South Africa, Middle East, etc. Expect new characters to be from some of those regions.

This doesn't explain anything about Sony, just Capcom.

But it does.

If the aim is to expand the market and cater to markets where PC dominates, the price of "full" exclusivity goes up, particularly when the impact in sales to Sony of also being on PC is likely a fraction of being on Xbox.

It was multi platform title before and sony don't own IP, so co funding game only lets them to own console exclusive to PS4 and PC is up to Capcom so they don't completely lock out this game for everyone by betraying fans which can hurt franchise. Bloodborne is sony IP and funded completely so they own everything.

It'd be surprising if the future Ultra version didn't end up on Xbox. Capcom loves money too much and given how well Killer Instinct is doing, there's clearly a fighting game fan base that spends money on fighting games on Xbox.

Wouldn't it just make more sense for Sony not to fund the game at all then. It's not like if Sony didn't help co-fund SFV, it would only be released XB1/PC. Having it being released on the PC and having cross play as well seems like it'll just hurt the PS4's version sales.

Wasn't aware that KI was doing that well. How much is it selling?

Sony wants a fighter exclusive as they don't have anything like KI of XB1, so they just trying to fill out this fighter genre exclusive in PS4. PC version wont hurt PS4 like many 3rd party games which sells better on PS4 and its expected this game marketed mostly as exclusive so most of them can see as PS4 exclusive.

This was heavily discussed when SFV was first announced. I don't think there is any way of telling right now. The fact that the game is coming to PC means that maybe sony's hold on the game isn't as strong as full blown exclusive. I am more inclined to think the next version will be on X1.

Was there ever an actual source saying that Sony is actually co-funding the game? Because I haven't been paying attention but the when they was being thrown around when the game was announced, it was just random speculation being taken as truth.

If Sony money is paying for the base game, why would Sony allow Capcom use that base game w/ added characters to be sold later-on in competing platforms (who shed no dime on the mix) other than the one already agreed (PC)? Sony is "kind" but not kind enough.

Like they said, NO. And anyone that's going to ink a deal like this is going to make sure it stays that way.

SFV will get DLC, new challenges, stages, costumes, characters etc... BUT not, new "re-releases". It's a legitimate question to ask because Capcom did create a precedent with SFIV but, I don't think that's the case with V.

Be weird if the follow up versions are on xbox and are considered the go-to versions with better balance fixes and so on.

Not weird, just a pipe dream.

That's why we have a Titanfall GOTY on PS4, right?

Never say never when it comes to non-100% first party exclusives, but don't count on it.

I think Ono spoke about it. That without Sony funding the game it wouldn't happened.

Why would there be "better balance fixes" on one version over the other? By all means if future iterations are on other platforms there would have to be parity on the actual gameplay tweaks made.

Even if that move was pulled, the XB1 version would be severly gimped in terms of playerbase die to FGC choosing PS4 over XB1 (unless they're KI fans, and KI isn't that popular competitively even if it is a solid game)

Capcom aren't exactly a company to keep their word. Hopefully there is a port to Nintendo's next gen portable system down the line.
