Sunderland use a ton of school kids to count the ballot whereas Margate is full of old people who take a long time to count

Sunderland makes a big effort to count quickly. Most places just make sure it's done right and don't care how quick it's done. Less people etc

Sorry, I got a step ahead of myself. In the current set up Labor + SNP could easily get more seats than the Tories + UKIP with fewer votes. So, they would have fewer seats as a party but the conservative block would be stronger.
