"Quick! Reroute all power to the forward deflector shields!"
We just want stupid to stop being such. Even if it's to no avail.I honestly think it's a bit sadder that so many people are actually bothered by the Nintendo defense force. If someone wants to make up ridiculous arguments in defense of Nintendo... So what ...
Some people on this site have defended:
- The lack of online in Mario Party 10 because "Mario Party is meant to be played locally"
- The artificial supply constraints of sought after Amiibo because "they underestimated demand"
- The fact that Amiibo functionality has basically turned into on-disc DLC because "it's minor content"
- Nintendo's Youtube creator's program because they're "protecting their IP"
- Nintendo butchering the picture of quality their legacy titles to "prevent epilepsy"
- Nintendo refusing to add GBA games to the 3DS eShop because they only offer "perfect emulation"
- Nintendo's decision not to bring the New 3DS to North America because "too many options"
- Nintendo's decision not to include a charger with the New 3DS XL because "it helps reduce environmental waste"
And many more. You're surprised by the fact that they're doing the same for Splatoon, an unfinished game that doesn't have voice chat in 2015? I consider myself to be a big Nintendo fan, but the constant excuses are embarrassing.
And now we have pedophilia accusations. Wonderful.
It's ridiculous at this point, any other developer/publisher would've got a bigger backlash from any of this. Some people on this site have defended:

What you're doing is not criticism. It's complaining.
Are you saying there are competitive people going out of their way to chat with their friends in order to win?
Must suck for the members here who will play this game as "intended." Good luck.

Nintendo Nation gets pretty ridiculous wherever and whenever it mobilizes, defending company honor as if it was a duty. This post is an unfortunate reminder.
Of course not. I always make sure to say things like "some Nintendo fans" or "people" to avoid making broad generalizations. I'm a Nintendo fan and I definitely do not give them a free pass on anything.
You can't moan at IGN's guy because it's his opinion, but you can moan about Nintendo's decision because their opinions are WRONG(!)
Who forced you to come to this thread then? Telling people they are acting like crybabies over a feature that has become standard for many years now isn't about us acting juvenile, it's about why Nintendo continually tries to monitor what they think consumers want. What's worse are those who constantly defend their decisions that make absolutely no sense other than refusing to ever be critical towards them.
What's so difficult in understanding giving people options is not a bad thing?

Easy, because it makes you miss out on simple fun. Life isn't about getting everything you want, otherwise you will always be disappointed. Us discussing on a thread is not going to change anything, but just have you all waste breath. Iam no defending I think it's stupid splatoon does not have voice chat, but I will still love the game because I have accepted it's shorcomings and postive sides. That's the difference from immaturity and maturity.

Again I freaking ask, can voice chat be patched in?
Not necessarily. Bungie's boneheaded decision to not include voice chat in Destiny was met with a similar amount of justification on the part of the fans.
At least there though there were system options to somewhat circumvent it.
You can TOTALLY camp. It just has diminishing returns.
But If you want to push people back into their base, camping is a good way to do it.

Yeah, but giving a list of things "Nintendo fans" defend certainly gives the impression that you're lumping everyone together. I'm not bothered by the lack of voice chat in Splatoon but I'm not a fan of Nintendo's Youtube policy. So I'm pretty sure there were *different* people that "defended" Nintendo decisions you thought were bad. This was the obvious problem with your previous post but I couldn't bother to make an issue. Now that you called out someone else, I couldn't resist.

I didn't use the term "Nintendo fans" once. Since I too am a Nintendo fan, that would mean I share the same views, which I don't.Some people on this site

Sure you can't always get what you want but Nintendo leaving voice chat out is leaving being served with a burger that only has half a bun. You'd obviously expect a full bun from a burger, no? That is how some people feel.Easy, because it makes you miss out on simple fun. Life isn't about getting everything you want, otherwise you will always be disappointed. Half of this thread isn't even about the lack of VC, it's about a defense force boogeyman.
True. I edited my post. But since you only listed Nintendo issues the implication was clear.

Yeah, diminishing returns.
The one thing I noticed about snipers during the stress test was that they didn't hide in the ink more to conseal their position more often. They would just keep firing. And in Splatoon that still helps but...it sort of negates the idea of a sniper, right?
The sniper rifle is a great offensive support weapon, but it doesn't really have much of a place in Turf war.

And Disney.Half of this thread isn't even about the lack of VC, it's about a defense force boogeyman.
I think it's a sign that a topic discussed a month ago before this article has run its course.
It's also a thread about a Nintendo game. Of course a list of Nintendo things would be posted here.
Yea I stand by it because that is my opinion on this message board. And I have express my small thoughts on the situation so now ima out of this thread to preoccupy myself with other stuff. Bye guysYou actually typed out these words and then hit enter.
This doesn't make any sense. You don't have to interact with other people during a silent movie. The chatting function in a video game is not the same as a silent movie. They are not even close to serving the same purpose. This isn't even close to being a good analogy. Why would a director want to make a silent movie in modern times? People not talking is no fun. No logic to it at all. The director is just behind the times.
Do you see how fucking weird that sounds? Only video-games are reviewed and critiqued like they are garage tools serving a function.
Oop!
Welp, Its immature to want options now, and totally mature to take what someone gives to you with no opinions whatsoever.
Time to re-enroll in elementary school.

I don't see how that has anything to do with my post.
The people who will play competitively with their own group will, probably, be people who use the matchmaking update that comes out in August. No shit will you be expecting people to be more co-ordinated, they've got their own squad going.
This thread is about Nintendo. I'm not going to deflect and start ragging on Sony and Microsoft for all the stupid decisions (of which there are many) they've made over the years.
Yes, but it is still common to refer to newspapers as one entity and see the opinion as a whole. I just need to mention the name Daily Mail and a certain image is conjured up. Usually because you have a company culture that's going to attract like minded individuals. We all see IGN and IGNorant™, Kotaku as slow and Polygon as... well I don't think anyone looks at them anymore. It's not unfair to lump all their staff under one umbrella. Heck people often treat all of GAF like a hivemind.Well reviews and editorials are more directly the opinion of an individual person rather than a company which outputs a physical product in which multiple parties have a defining influence.
Op-Eds in newspaper certainly don't reflect the opinion of all the staff working there or even a large number.
The very definition of maturity, right here.Yea I stand by it because that is my opinion on this message board. And I have express my small thoughts on the situation so now ima out of this thread to preoccupy myself with other stuff. Bye guys

But it's a post about things "people" defend not a post about the Nintendo game.
And the poster has claimed that the "people" referred to are not Nintendo fans because that term wasn't used.
Please.
I'm just cutting past the BS here.
Everything you brought up is focused around a traditional shooter.
Why the hell do i care if a team mate is in trouble? Good. The more enemies focusing on a single player the better. Why the hell would I rush to their defence? Thats time to go the opposite way and take back all that land.
There is no penalty for dying. There is no bonus for killing. Someone with zero kills and 15 deaths can be the top scorer on the team.
You guys are nowhere near as good at formulating stratagems as you think you are.
The real time feed doesnt mess up. It doesnt describe the wrong place, it doesnt send the wrong number of enemies, its information is not obsolete before the message is finished.
You would have just been whiny noise, and judging by your misplaced concerns, noise whining about a losing strategy
