Yeah, I've seen him choke with my own eyes. I'm willing to admit that. Sometimes it's his fault, sometimes it's the team. No denial here.

Even getting whipped 43 - 8 against what amounts to the best D since the Raven's crew of yore isn't as bad as 18 - 1.

Sorry, but that 18-1 hold no power over me anymore.

Winning 4 rings kinda does that to ya

I already knew this was going to posted and if you think the Pats took the Giants lightly and thought it was going to be a fun time in Arizona, then you are a lost cause. The Giants were the only team that showed any sort of resilience to the onslaught of Tom that year even before the Super Bowl.

So Tom predicting a win, on the most important game of the year, leading a team that was undefeated against a weak wildcard isn't choking?

Manning has been crucified for playing on lesser teams and losing, and in most cases it not even being his fault. All while never predicting any outcome.

It's a choke even Peyton couldn't pull off, that's how great it was.

Being embarrassed on a global scale where you are coming in expecting to cement your legacy as a non-choker only to get massacred the likes of which have only been seen by another Bronco team in the history of the Super Bowl is definitely worse than losing a close game to a fluke play.

Curious to see if the Patriots appeal in court and open up themselves to more discovery and subpoenas than the Wells investigation.

I don't t think Brady et al really want to show the txt messages. Why don't these people go buy cheapo pay as you go phones and use them for these matters...

McNabb did that to himself.

Dat Campbell's chunky cream of corn...

When Kraft and Brady clear this all up I hope Goodell does the right things and personally pays each of them $1,000,000 and gives the Pats two extra first round picks.

How will Robert Kraft use his power and control over the commissioner to interrupt justice this time?

Will he have Goodell rescind the penalties and burn all the copies of the Wells Report?

I think Kraft is pushing his luck. It took a lot of maneuvering by Little Rog to avoid implicating Belicheat and Don Kraft. He's doing the best he can with the hand he is dealt.

Goodell can't be too lenient, but he also can't bite the hand that feeds.

But how does it compare to cheating at every opportunity because you are afraid to face your opponent on a level playing field?

watch the video in the link it says if he appeals it will go to arbitration and not to Gooddell. Pretty sure it would be the same case for the Patriots.

"Arbitration" is weird under the CBA for players.

Nah it as a choke.

Just live with it.

I'm unclear on something..
If deflated footballs don't make a difference... Why deflate them?

How did the NFL determine what is regulation psi?

I mean I'm all for suspending Brady half the season
People are like 'but ray rice originally only got 2 games'

Yeah well that was wrong to, he should have been banned from the sport completely

Nope. That game will be remembered decades from now and fans will still remember the 18-0 Patriots getting embarrassed.

A weak wildcard is revisionist history. Again, the Giants were the only team in the league that really showed a backbone to the Patriots from whistle to whistle as evidenced by the last game of the regular season. Again people seem to not understand choking. Choking is when you are handed a win, or goal, or touchdown or whatever and do something to cause a sure thing to turn into a disaster. The Seahawks drive was the definition of a choke as they had the game all but won. Playing a hard fought game with the outcome decided on a fluke play is not really a choke. Not showing up and competing in a championship game is worse as it is embarrassing.

Could be a qb preference thing. Rodgers likes them over inflated too.

It's like a bad marriage. Looks good on the outside, but hollow.

Seahawks were historically good that year. Props to them. Broncos came in beat up, and didn't stand a chance. We still beat that Pats that year though, so it wasn't all bad.

This is how I imagine Goodell's first meeting with Kraft went, except Goodell took the job offer.

Good find. It seems it is really tricky. In the article you mentioned it says Gooddell is the one doing the suspending but in the actual event it was Vincent but was authorized by Gooddell. Also Brady's agent mentioned he is confident the suspension will get overturned when it goes to arbitration.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The only Super Bowl the Pats choked away was the 2nd one against NYG; where Brady missed a wide open Welker to seal the game.

Because everyone is looking for every advantage possible; and NE has strayed too close to the line one too many times.

The Wells report has said there's some indication this may have been going on before Jan 2014. At least the communication between Tom and the equipment dudes have. Who knows how long the deflating has been going on but if it has been at least that long you could make the case that the Pats would not have won the games necessary to put them in the position to win the SB without cheating.

With that said and the fairly obvious knowledge that Bradys punishment will be reduced it does seem that cheating is prosperous in the NFL.

In any case there is some damage done to the legacy of Brady from this which surprises me from Goodell. It would seem that without the Tuck rule game, Spygate and now Deflategate he only has one asterisk free championship if you will. The mere fact that they will always be brought up when speaking of his career has got to sting a little I'm sure. Just like Manning having won only one championship.

Good. He deserves more games. He needs to be banned from the league entirely. Lying, cheating piece of trash is what he is. Any semblace of respect I had for the man is now gone. He's a crybaby bitch who is now getting off easy. He deserves to have all his statistics wiped and rings vacated. He's an embarrassment to every player who has ever and will ever step foot on the field. What an absolute disgrace. The Brady Six my ass. What a clown. And for him to have the termirity, the unmitigated Gaul to lie to eveyone. GET HIM OUT OF THE LEAGUE!

I'm a Pats fan, so clearly bias ahead.

Some of you really think that $1M, 2 draft picks (including a 1st), and Brady gone for 4 games is too lenient? I agree they need to be punished, but for using underinflated balls this is insane. I was thinking 1-2 games for Brady and maybe a pick.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens if it turns out Jimmy G is legit. Imagine the Pats starting 4-0 with him lighting it up. I don't expect that to happen, but damn it'd be interesting to see a Bledsoe-Brady situation all over again.

The Giants were a weak wild card, the poster child for an underdog. Came in to the playoffs 10-6, with some key injuries and very little success going back several years. It's hardly revisionist history, no matter how hard they played the Pats prior.

Patriots on the other hand were handing out blowouts week after week breaking all kinds of records.

Broncos were the #1 AFC seed and Seattle was the #1 AFC seed. Seattle was healthier, more talented, and had greater depth. They also had a better coach. Carroll poured it on us, and the team, not just Manning didn't have an answer. Oh well.

Still doesn't compare to being undefeated and losing to a team which really shouldn't have been their given their recent history.

Watch the last game of the regular season. Don't give a shit what teams records are going into the playoffs. All that matters is how they are playing and the Giants were the best in the NFC as they were the only ones to stand toe to toe with the Pats from whistle to whistle and were able to show that when they beat the rest of the NFC in the playoffs. Wildcard teams win because it don't matter what you did before, all that matters is how you are playing the day of. It is reason we see wildcard teams do well on many occasions.

Sure, we all believe in Any Given Sunday.

That doesn't change the perception that the Pats were supposed to win that game handily. It's just like the miracle on ice. Communist (Pats) were supposed to handle the Americans (Giants). Communists choked, and Americans won.

Choking is perception, that's why everyone is so hard on Peyton. Perception is that a Manning led team should win more often then not. Same that a historically great (at the time, Peyton surpassed all those numbers) Pats offense should handily beat the Giants.

I'm surprised it was this much considering other ball tampering cases before. My guess is the NFL floated the case out there to judge public reaction and then move. 4 games seems like enough to piss off Pats fans and Brady haters alike.
And? The Pats has a history of breaking rules to suit themselves. They don't get the benefit of the doubt.

The Giants went a blistering 4-4 during the second half on the 2007 getting outscored 173-192. They managed to win three playoff games by a combined 17 points heading into the SB. You're fixated on one close game to end the season and ignore the other 10.

B.. b-but it was a close game :'(

I'm still laughing at the person who spent all that time making the your team cheats website just to downplay the Patriots cheating.

Sports make people do crazy, unreasonable things.

I am fixated because when you play an entire season where pretty much every game was over at half time and one team was able to contest from whistle to whistle and nearly win the game, you take notice. Scrubs they were not and history proves they weren't.
