How does color locked mode works?

Does it just leave two sets of colors or are you able to pick ones that best suit your color blindness?

Beanman25 uploaded 2 new multiplayer vids, but they're longer than 3 minutes, so I think that should be changed (NDA has a 3 minute rule I think).
Yeah. 3mins for multiplayer stuff. 2mins for any single player content. 30mins of footage allowed in total. We can stream next week with sessions lasting up to an hour.

GameXplain - Splatoon - Octo Valley Tour (Gameplay - 60fps )

In this vid of the singleplayer hub world I count 17 levels over 3 worlds with 2 more worlds in the background, so I'd say it's pretty save to assume that the singleplayer will indeed consist of 27 levels like the number of scrolls. I wonder how long the singleplayer will last.

I wonder if there are scrolls in the boss stages? With how small they are they would be extremely easy to find. There also only appears to be three stage and one boss in the first "world".

Unless later worlds' significantly up the difficulty and length of levels it looks like only a three hour adventure. Disappointing.

So since I'm planning to get Splatoon at Best Buy (GCU discount of $12 plus $15 in reward certificates) and the qualifier for the NWC is the day after release at Best Buy as well I'm going to save gas and just wait and day to pick it up. Anyone in a similar situation to me?

Worlds evolve as you go on. I'll capture some stuff from World 2 and 3 tonight that demonstrate this.

This game can't stop impressing me! I was really happy to find out there was a single player mode, even happier to find out the level design looks great and now I find out there's bosses?

Got the version with the Inkling amiibo for £34 too so even better.

Oh and the multiplayer looks great!

I'll remove them if he doesn't want them posted.

Hmm... so 2 questions.

1) How are points calculated for half pipes? Ink on walls don't contribute to scoring at the end, so at what point in the curve does the floor end and the wall begin? The entire thing should be inked anyway, so this is more for curiosity than any real strategic value.

2) For Blackbelly Skatepark, would it be worthwhile to paint the outer walls for fast travel? The walls are much longer unbroken surfaces to move along without needing to jump (and I'm assuming moving over a corner between walls is seamless). The center areas in the skatepark seem kind of cumbersome for travel, though they're certainly still important due to scoring.

I'm not sure if the 4chan guy is legit or not, but he claims the campaign is 5-6 hours.

Hopefully. I've watched every level and boss released on video. It's just the levels so far seem very straightforward and the checkpoints are ridiculously plentiful with them happening even in the super short boss battles.. Considering how much cover is available for every encounter combined with regenerating health it seems very hard to die.

The bosses are very disappointing as with 3 out of 5 shown they all only take a few hits and look super easy.

I'll be happy with 5-6 hours but everything I've seen looks way too easy.

At least I have the Amiibo pack preordered. Those combined (60 challenges) will hopefully be twice the campaign length. Unless they're not full missions.

I love the music in that video above.
I've put some of the numbers in spoilers for ya, if the quotes could follow suit it would be great. I left my assumption out of the spoilers though since the scrolls stuff has been discussed a too much already.
Thanks. Your posts were fine, it was another post that was too spoilerish.

That gun seems to use a lot of ink.

I see the special gauge starts going down when you activate the rocket. What happens if you don't choose a target and the gauge gets empty?

Then you lose it.

Yeah, the weapon uses a lot of ink, has increased damage over the Splattershot but a slower fire rate.

now I've got the under 1 minute music stuck in my head haha

specifically the woooooooooahh-wooah-oooo-oooo-oooo-oooooooooooooooo part

nice vid, how are you liking the perk system attached to the clothes?

I like it since it gives me the option to customize clothing sets to better suit my style of play for certain weapons. The Ninja Squid perk is something I really like and the added defense. May look into equipment with better ink restoration or something for the Pro.

I am very curious about the singleplayer in this game, as im not really interested in multiplayer much, but the gameplay looks interesting enough to build a decent singleplayer experience out of. Is that correct? Do you people who have the game believe the singleplayer stuff to be worth it alone?

Well, how does 5-6 (supposed) hours of increasing level complexity, framed around third-person shooting and platforming and squidding, sound to you?

5-6 hours is pretty normal for a lot of games, so its not really a problem. For me it depends on if they do something that feels new with those hours, or if it is just a cuter thirdperson shooter with some plattforming. Is the level design cool? Are the bosses cool? Are the gameplay mechanics innovative? Varied? Etc. Stuff like that.

Any numbers on how much total EXP you need to get to lvl 10?
About the Chargers... what does the Mobility stat do?
I'm pretty sure that stat has to do with how fast you can move while charging with the weapon.

1) Yea, curious about that as well. I'm guessing the overhead view gives a better idea of how much each individual part of is worth, though I doubt anyone would calculate that lol.

2) I would assume no cause it takes way too long to use those paths to traverse.

I'm keeping myself in the dark but I'm keeping myself in the dark because what I saw in regards to the points you bring up satisfied me enough to do so. I was mainly getting this game for the single player (until the testfire lol) and from what I've seen they really do expand on the mechanics well and there is tons of variety. enemy variety, level variety, puzzle variety, everything.

pretty sure there are levels posted in this thread, you should check some out.

Thanks for this! I dont really want to spoil myself to much, just get a general impression on what you guys think as Nintendo ususally is pretty amazing at creating fresh experiences but I was a bit worried by how little we have known so far of the singleplayer.

I'm legit really excited for this game. That demo from last week was really something special. I just hope it doesn't get old too fast.

It has reached the point where I am searching "Splatoon" on YouTube and narrowing the results to "Today."

Thanks, everyone in this thread, for the upcoming info and posting the matches. Can't wait for this to come out!

A lot. Going from Level 9 to Level 10 is 10,000 EXP.
I see, thanks. I think I figured it out.

(1->2) 700 > (2-3) 1,600 > (3->4) 2,600 > (4->5) 3,650 > (5->6) 4,800 > (6->7) 6,000 > (7->8) 7,250 > (8->9) 8,600 > (9->10) 10,000

That would mean 45,200 EXP in total is needed to reach lvl 10.

Only numbers confirmed there are 700, 1600, 2600, 6000, and 10000.

And with that, I think I learned everything I wanted to know pre-release lol. I'll still watch the multiplayer videos though.

Those numbers look right.

Somebody gif that moment in 2:30 lmao

Love the Splattershot pro, amazing range. Guess it's ink tank is not so hot though and you won't cover much in tight corners
I got greedy and wanted that extra kill. I focused on nothing but that incoming enemy.
