But the New Leaf development team was organized as a 50/50 gender team. My impression is that the Splatoon team is a mostly-male development team.
Hey - I have a pretty pressing question for anyone who might know the answer.
Are you able to have multiple characters on the same save file? My sister and I are going to be playing, just, so much Splatoon all summer, but we each want our own characters and the ability to track our own individual stats. Quitting the game, logging into the other person's Wii U profile, and booting up the game for their save file when we're taking turns with Turf Wars would be an astronomical pain - especially since during the demo, we switched off after every match.
I'm really hoping the developers accounted for this and addressed it - any insight would be very appreciated.

I believe this is how MK8 works, too. Separate NNID accounts have their own save files.how does it work for Mario Kart 8 though?
I assume it'll be that separate NNID accounts have their own save files. I'm not sure if they addressed this yet.

That's not always the case though. Smash 4 has 1 shared savefile for all accounts on the system.

Yeah, exactly. Customization is such a huge part of the game - and I also want the satisfaction of leveling my own inkling up and watching my stats evolve. All I know is that I'd like my own Inkling and my sister to have her own rather than us sharing one, lol.

If there is no way to switch characters within a single save file, I guess my sister and I will have to have a third, shared file along with our two personal ones. But again, that would be a hassle.

You're right. Is Smash the only game like this?

NSMBU and Nintendoland.
Basically it's only used for games with a major local focus. It wouldn't surprise me if MP10 also sets it up that way but I don't have it myself to test.

I'm sure this was asked, but if it was answered, I missed it. Was curious if anyone whose gotten early amiibos know if the fucntions in Splatoon are read-only or is a write function. Think I've finally talked a friend of mine into getting the game, was wondering if he can just scan in my amiibos for the missions and minigames.
You're not saving anything. All they do is unlock stuff.
Still a 7 days to go.
Is there a midnight digital launch? For MK8 I went digital but I was so excited I still bought it at midnight so I have a digital and unopened physical copy of MK8

*hates you*
Well if you're familiar with the advantages of KB/M over dual sticks (or most control methods besides dual analog) then you should be able to see the appeal. While not 1-1, gyro does provide a similar aiming experience compared to a mouse and the same goes for IR pointer or PS Move aiming. And those advantages definitely affected developers' decision to implement cross-platform play last gen.You know today I played again and kinda missed the Gyro controls for a second. Then I got used to the sticks again though. I can see the appeal now.
Really where are you?My copy was dispatched earlier... I'll post what I can if it arrives tomorrow.
Really where are you?

Yeah, I was hoping this would be a thing in Splatoon from the moment I heard Animal Crossing people were working on this. It'd be pretty awesome if you could actually wear a skirt as a boy Inkling.
Gender progressiveness in a game that many kids will play.
That is one sick looking magazine cover. One of the raddest I've seen in a long time - I'd love a clean version of it. And it's most certainly miles better than the Edge one:

There were three slots, but those three slots were cross-system. Even in games with multiple saves, usually they're user-specific.NSMBU has multiple save slots and Nintendo Land uses Miis to store individual achievements like unlocked stamps.

Game looks so good.
I'm glad though that they have different colors, I wonder if it would get nauseating looking at the same one over and over again if they didn't.
