Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Anyone order from the Nintendo UK store get theirs today?

I got an email last night so I doubt mine will arrive until Friday.

Mine is at home waiting for me, was surprised it arrived so quickly since it dispatched yesterday morning.

May or may not be leaving work early as a result

I feel lucky to have been able to order just one of the amiibo. Hoping to grab the 3-pack somewhere down the line, been nuts trying to get it though. :[

now that I see the info in the thread about the amiibos I'm worried about the minigames..

may be someone can clarify to me, are there extra minigames besides the one in the testfire that can be unlocked or are they all exclusive to amiibo??

The new issue of Nintendo Force comes with a double-sided Splatoon poster. One side has official art while the other is a fan piece crossover.

Mine is despatched now (I thought the game collection were supposed to send an e-mail) but even if I have to wait until the official launch date I only paid £22.70 for it.

So for now there are some twitch streams live. You can see quite a few new weapons
(that probably are not new as they were shown elsewhere and I wasn't paying attention)
being used mainly by the level 10+ Japanese opponents.

I've not really found a stream to stick with though.

So does the shirt just come included with the game?
If you ordered the from the Nintendo UK store, yes they had a bundle of that. But the Nintendo UK store is more expensive as they have to charge RRP but no rules against throwing in free gifts like these.

I just managed to grab the special edition for 45€ (5€ for the squid amiibo, the value!) on amazon while it was constantly going in and out of stock in the last couple minutes. Now to get an Inkling Girl amiibo

estimated delivery date: June 1-3 :-/
I suppose I can wait ...

It's bugging me that I can't remember what the name of the robot that's below Toad Man is.

And also there's some characters I can't name.

Gosh, that blaster looks powerful. Low fire rate and the traditional bubble hard counter gonna be its weaknesses I guess.

Am I reading th OP correctly, that if you live in Europe the only way to get the squid amiibo is to buy a game+amiibo bundle? I'll go digital, and find it insane if my only option to get the amiibo is to buy a physical version of the game.

Yup, it's stupid.
Really bummed about missing out on the rhythm minigame, just because I'm going digital.

Just bought the game and the Inkling girl Amiibo in a local store ... and yet I won't be able to play until after the weekend. :(

I enjoyed GC's review, it raised a good point about how while turf war mode is perfectly fine and enough to carry the appeal of the game, Nintendo adding new content implies that they think otherwise.

I personally would be happy with turf war mode too, the parallel with Mario Kart 8 is a good one. Like that game, I'd be perfectly satisfied with a super-solid, amazingly fun experience, spread across a variety of maps.

If Splatoon launched with just that one mode (and it wasn't called a mode) but with 16-32 tracks like Mario Kart 8, that alone would be enough.

I'm all for more content, but it's clear (At least from that review) that turf war mode is superb.

it's probably easier to create new modes and use existing maps. I'm quite happy with the direction they're going, having only Turf Wars might become a bit boring. Tower Control sounds quite similar to the TF2 Payload mode so I guess it will end up being one of the main game modes

e: got the Ink Girl amiibo as well

Good point, I'm certainly not opposed to new modes either.

I'm glad Nintendo is bringing it out now just so we can actually play something solid while they get the rest of the content sorted out, but like the review mentioned, the unavoidable bad press from the content schedule is going to hurt it.

Team Fortress 2 also launched with 5 maps (can't remember about modes), but Valve made sure no one cared, or at worst, overlooked it, by bundling it with The Orange Box. Everyone, and most critics, were too busy gawping over Portal to worry about TF2's launch content.

Reallllllyyy want to get it physical. That boxart is beautiful. But I also reallllllly wanna play at midnight, and I just got a big new tat anyway so driving 45 minutes at midnight to try and convince Wal-mart workers that yes, it is actually possible for a game to be released on a day that is not Tuesday, sounds pretty terrible. Think I'm just gonna cave and preload it, especially because it's so small.

Great OT. I do kinda wish the single player section was before the multiplayer section. That way people know right away it does have a single player campaign and the game isn't a "only online" shooter. It gets lost in the mix now I think. Other then that it's great.

Question for anyone that has Best Buy's GCU. Thinking of picking up the game from there along with finally signing up for the Gamer Club Unlocked. I'm seeing something weird when I check out though. The game's release date being the 29th but I can pick up the game today!?

Does the Gamer Club Unlocked membership allow people to pick up preorders early (by a day or two)? Or could this just be a glitch with the website?
