It's way too early for Santa Monica after their cancelled game which we'd probably have seen something by now.
Apart from collaborations, I bet we won't see anything until 2016 E3 at the earliest.

Yep, hes a creative director for externally developed games that they publish:
Phantom Dust (2013-present), MGS
Ori and the Blind Forest (2012-present), MGS
Killer Instinct / X1 (2012-present), MGS
Powerstar Golf / X1 (2012-present), MGS
D4 / X1 (2012-present), MGS
Crimson Dragon / X1 (2011-present), MGS
None of those have been made internally, it doesn't appear as though he has updated his Linkedin recently
He also doesn't seem to work on their AAA stuff (although whether thats a specific choice or not I have no idea), which gives lots of scope for games unknown coming into E3 and Gamescom announcement periods.
I think we will be hearing a lot from his secret projects in that time.

Since everyone is talking about L5 JRPG. Was it confirmed that it's really a JRPG? I think they just talked about the announcement of a PS4 game but didn't mention the genre.
Hino also said he would like to do something more "epic" than WKC, but I don't remember if that was in relation to this game.
Well, since it's L5, there is a high chance it is a JRPG, but I don't want to have my hopes crushed...

Not impossible for them to announce a new inFamous soon after the last one. inFamous 2 was announced a year after the first one came out and it'd be a further year before it'd come out.
Different story if Sucker Punch is working on a new IP, though.

They also said PSX will have a strong GoW theme next year. Something along those lines anyway.
If it was announced at E3, it'd be a teaser trailer at best. After that horrible UC4 teaser last year I hope they don't do that again.

Barlog tweeted this August last year in regards to SSM's next project that they want to pretend Barlog didn't already reveal it's GoW:
The way I took it is that pre-production was only completed around August last year. I seriously think that the game's only been in full-production for less than a year, and like all AAA-games, the earliest you can get em out is really with at least 24 months of full-production.
Fall 2016 is really the earliest candidate for when the next GoW will ship.

Now that I can get behind. Full Throttle HD would be great, since I've always wanted to play it. The Curse of Monkey Island is the best game in its franchise and needs to be introduced to a new audience. Or best of all - Westwood's Blade Runner! Although that's impossible to remaster apparently due to the engine used.
And everything's been quiet on Dreamfall: Chapters for the PS4 ever since it was announced during Gamescom. Would be nice to get an update on that.

It is interesting how many third party games we can assume will appear for Sony (Battlefront, Arkham Knight (hopefully just a launch trailer), MGSV, COD etc) but we know relatively few that are tied with microsoft this year.

That is basicly a 1st party game for 2015. Its published by Microsoft.
I hope so too but so far they are just Tim's games.
We are getting these ones because Disney were selling off the old IP's from Lucas Arts. Sony were buying them but when they found out Tim was looking for them as well they made a deal.
Unless Sony bought the other IP's like Sam and Max and Monkey Island the re-emergence of the point and click will be short lived.

If microsoft was smart, they should showcase Rock Band 4 at their conference. The amount of DLC bought from the 360 versions should be enough incentive to purchase an XB1. I purchased over $400 of song packs from the previous gen.
BTW, do you guys think we will hear something new from Yukio Futatsugi? (Crimson Dragon). Maybe Microsoft handed him the ''cancelled'' Phantom Dust project. since he was the main director in the original Xbox game

I also think they could get Telltale now with that weird minecraft game in the works.

Nah I think they will show some third party games. But the games will be 2016. Most of this falls games would be on Sonys stage, but there's stuff like Fallout, Mass effect, PVZ etc that could be at Ms show

I'd much prefer if they upped the budget and gave it to a top studio. Phantom Dust was a real gem that deserves to shine (pun fully intended!).

God of War 4 will be shown if Sony thinks it best to show it now to fill out the show. They could simply put together a 2 minute in-engine cinematic trailer and be done with it, and then work to get gameplay together for PSX.
I just hope the showcase shows something about what the new setting will be and what to expect from the possibility of new gameplay angle. Like the Titans of GOW3 and how they were " moving levels ". That shit was unreal. GOW3 is still right up there with 2 as my favorite in the series. Overall think GoW3 was better then 2 though, despite how epic and jaw dropping GOW2 was.
I also am getting a strange feeling that we will get that $299 price drop this E3 and it will be announced for the week after E3 ( as announcing price drops for the future can hurt current sales ). Those people who have money down on a MGSV bundle will just get their money credited for the difference. They can take momentum from the E3 showing and put it into a price drop which then leads into September and MGSV and then you have October with Disgaea 5 and Dragon Quest Heroes, November with No Mans Sky ( my guess ) and Star Wars. December will likely be Persona 5 no doubt. Then of course whatever surprises occur at E3 scheduled for holiday season.

Really can't wait to see what Barlog does with GOW, he and Jaffe were far better than Stig and Pappy as directors so seeing him back in the helm will be exciting. I don't see how the formula will not be changed, there can't really go any bigger and better in terms of set pieces. Not open world but I do expect bigger levels, no more of the invisible walls shit.
I personally don't think this will be the year they announce GOW, particularly after that tweet from last year with the cards. My thought is that Horizon, MM new IP and another gameplay session of UC4 is what we will get. After the shit show that was last year in terms of first party stuff, even that might be a stretch. :/

Phil said they were going to talk about what was next after CD shipped, I've no idea if they've done anything since, perhaps he is consulting.
If they are working with the studio against i'd say it was probably on something new. Crimson Dragon had some promise but the Kinect roots affected it a lot, something new from the ground up, something different on XB1 could be cool

I personally think they stick with Greek mythology. It would be a bit odd for them to suddenly jump to a completely different realm of mythology. I'd love to hear the story reasons behind that one. But with whats his face defeated .... the options are more or less wasted. Unless of course, they start working toward Hades and people like that.
I think Egyptian mythology is most likely if they switch from Greek, it's less radical a change than Norse so it will be more recognisable to more casual fans and therefore easier to market.
But that's just my guess, maybe they want something completely different ¯\_(ツ

Ooo I know. The boss is Kratos himself. The remaining Deity's build a new champion, one that is designed to be able to take down Kratos, and you play as that character. You then work your way toward fighting and killing Kratos, and then you play as that new character in future GoW's ( if they make any more ).
Yeah Kratos really let loose in 3 and didnt save any gods/titans for a sequel. But i think even that list is incomplete as people like Icarus and Hercules are dead too (though they weren't proper boss fights).
I don't mind the idea of switching mythology, however I think they should completely ditch Kratos and the greek mythology then. If they are changing the mythology (which I hope they do), they should have a new protagonist. Kratos in Norse or Egyptian worlds is just ridiculous.

I really think GOW3 was meant to be the last of that trilogy. But with the series selling so well, and with the death of the Stig IP, no doubt SMS needed to be able to pull in some profits from something. So Barlog was brought back in and GoW4 was put back on the table.
We'll see how it goes. But Barlog is awesome, and SMS is awesome, so I've no doubt whatever they come up with will be fun and epic from a gameplay perspective. Story wise, that is a different thing altogether. GOW story is very basic, and just an excuse to go around killing Gods and having epic fights. So, with that they definitely succeeded. GOW was never meant to win oscars or win " best story " awards.
