E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Yeah, that's a high profile enough indie that I could see MS trying to grab it. I'm interested to see where that game shows up in 2 weeks, because I would be shocked if someone doesn't get it. Could Nintendo try to snag it for Wii U? Those games are on iPad, right?

They are definitely on Android, unless MS tones down its indie policy it could go on anything but Xbox.

Thanks man.

The craziness of the PSX thread must have masked that tweet.

I thought Epic were kinda phasing out game development in favour of engine development.

Will be very interesting to see whether his tease lies in the realms of reality.

I could see things he might of known last year slipping to this E3, if some of the things he said are MIA he was full of shit. Anyone could of called what he did, we all knew there was an exclusive Capcom gaming coming. That was common knowledge.

So, who gets Rock Band 4 and who gets GH: Live? I can't tell if Harmonix would go with Sony because of the Amplitude thing or go with Microsoft because of their partnership last gen.

I'm gonna say Harmonix will be at Sony because of Amplitude and John Drake (the latter is not good reasoning but I'm gonna go with it).

Whatever happened to Fortnite? Feels like they're keeping it relatively under wraps. Could be a great VR game with its building elements but the footage I've seen has all been third person.

Rock Band 4 is already a big XBO system seller. Gotta buy and XBO if you want to keep all of your 360 tracks.

FF7 proper remake.

No :D

TLG vs FF7 vs Half life 3 vs Shenmue 3 vs Crash Bandicoot

let the fight begin

Well, Crash would be really cool, but for most, I imagine it's not in the same league as the others.

Here's my ranking (based on what I want to see the most):

1. HL3
2. TLG
3. FF7 remake
3. RE2 remake
5. Eternal Darkness sequel or remake
6. Crash Bandicoot sequel
7. Pikmin 4
8. A good film noir game.
9. Seinfeld RPG :)
10. A legitimately great Jurassic Park game (survival horror? open world?)
11. A humorous, wacky Zelda spinoff (adventure platformer?) starring Groose (wherein the developers are afforded the same latitude and liberties given to the teams behind the Paper Mario titles).

Someone ought to fix the erroneous spelling on that image.

Same thing applies to the ps4. And again, they have an unreleased game that will be coming out on the ps4 in the summer (Amplitude), PS4 has an install base almost twice that of the xbox one. It's in Harmonix's best interest to advertise to the biggest audience possible, the older fans who will be bothering with the song import are gonna buy the game regardless of which stage it's shown at.

I'm thinking more of a Link approach in Legend of Zelda for Kratos.

A redesigned Kratos that keeps the iconic aspects of him (the white skin and red tattoos), but otherwise is practically a completely different character in a different mythology.

I agree, as this seems the only way for them to inject the fatigued body of the franchise with new blood. But I do trust Cory with the game. He conceived and produced the most epic and engaging episode of them all, and he knows that the two last entries, although perfectly fine on their own, managed somehow to relegate the saga from its status as a staple of Sony video-games making process, into merely another good series, the next chapter of which is anticipated in a way that is equal parts excitement and anxiety...
But dare I say that whenever GOW IV is revealed, all other titles will pale in terms of art and tech know-how...

I don't have the pleasure of knowing/remembering Kyoufu's history as an insider or his predictions, but I think you guys are taking his FFVII remake bet too seriously. The way I see it, the guy just wishes/believes it will happen this year, as most of us also do.

I don't think he is hinting at something, or "leaking" information in the form of a wish/belief. I just think this is just speculation on his end.

Fortnite. One of the main reason I built a PC a long time ago. lol. I would imagine they are making it for consoles too since they've been so hush about it.

Does anyone else feel like games that will be shown at E3 isn't trickling out as much as it has in previous years, around this time? I mean, we are only 2 weeks out now.

It'll be re-revealed to include next-gen consoles and feature MOBA/F2P elements.

Here's how (I would guess) Sony's Conference goes down:

Open with gameplay demo of UC4, with Bruce Straley playing the game. Happens for 5 minutes, ends with release date (a Friday in mid February).

Shuhei comes out, says that this is "one of the many exciting projects at Worldwide Studios." He's thrilled to announce not one, not two, but three new AAA IPs today at the show from Worldwide Studios. Here's the first one:

Trailer for Horizon with a new name. Ends with robot dinosaur roaring, "Summer 2016." Someone from Guerrilla comes out for a 5 minute demo, walking through an environment. A light on the other side of the stage comes on: another GG person is also holding a controller and joins the first person's game. They're working together to take down a giant dinosaur.

Lights go dark. Eery music begins to play. Bend's Horror IP is revealed with a trailer no release date. No demo for this one.

Parappa downloadable game.

Morpheus time. Give it a date: that's also the date for Bend's game. There's another two major games coming for Morpheus.

MM's new IP is exclusive to Morpheus, while Bend's is Morpheus optional. They open MM's game with a video of someone creating something, and tell the audience that they'll be able to make their own creations in the PlayStation booth.

No Man's Sky music plays. It's also playable with Morpheus.

Shahid comes out to tell us about indies. He introduces a bunch of PC games coming to PS4 and Vita, as well as a trailer montage of release dates for games already announced (STFU, Not a Hero, Talos Principle, etc.)

Boyes comes out. "It's third party time, yo!"

Boyes introduces Yoshinori Ono.

Ono and Boyes play a round of SFV while he explains a new mechanic through his translator. This drags a little bit, but the game looks beautiful.

Ono and Boyes have something else to announce. Lights go dark. Playstation vs Capcom.

Lights come back on, and somebody from WB is on the stage. Gives Arkham Knight launch trailer. "We have something else to announce." Trailer plays.

Suicide Squad or Superman is exclusive to Playstation 4.

Lights come back up to a 2K person and Boyes. They introduce Civ Rev 2 Plus and XCOM Enemy Within Plus. Both are coming to Vita with the help of third party productions. Bonus prediction: neither will run particularly well.

Trailer for XCOM: Advent whatever plays. Launches this October.

Short Battleborn trailer. DLC comes first to PlayStation. Release date.

Activision guy comes out. Black Ops 3 DLC comes first to Playstation. Gameplay demo that includes the phrase "in the interest of time."

"Of course, we couldn't talk about playstation without talking about Destiny." Destiny numbers thrown about, including hours played, kills with PS exclusive weapons, and number of multiplayer matches. Destiny: Comet announcement. Regular DLC rigamoral.

Yves Guillemot comes out to introduce a short demo for AC: Syndicate. Also has a trailer for either Watch Dogs 2 or the open world RPG new IP. Whichever one was introduced at the Ubi conference earlier in the day. That title comes Q1 2016.

EA time. That guy who used to work for DICE but now has a big shot title at EA comes out (Patrick soderland, maybe?). Introduces either Amy Hennig to talk about Visceral's game or EA Canada's open world Star Wars game. Trailer for that game, though we've heard about it once today.

Of course, Battlefront demo. Battlefront bundle; console looks awesome. I want one but am unable to justify the purchase. Throws to Shawn Layton to close.

"We have one final announcement that we think will excite the Playstation community."

The Last Guardian launches this November. It will not sell well, but will give Sony a lot of hardcore gamer cred.

EDIT: the Morpheus intro is when they give impressive sounding sales numbers. The Level 5 game might be in there too.

This is what I want, so I won't get it.

As much as I would love to see even 1 of these, I just don't belive.
And now he talked about those games together, can't even think one of them will happen.

Sony conference will be good, belive me. You will see.
But, for the sake of your joy, low your spectations.

If this things weren't shown/made till now, they have their reason, and are not like "Yo, I'm just not feeling it, ya know brah?"

Are you an insider?

Probably because anyone with any info doesn't want to be banned if they somehow claim they have a leak, and it turns out to be false.

I really don't want insider talk this time around. At PSX it was ridiculous. Never have a hypetrain crashed as much as last December, wow.

I think I bailed on the thread when the street fighter trailer leaked. I was like, okay this is clearly the "gigaton" that was being talked about.

Went back after the conference to find out that even after that leak, it was being hyped like there was another announcement that was even better than that coming. Insider must've thought FF VII for PS4 meant remake or something. So glad I wasn't around for that. The conference met my expectations because of that.

We need more folks with reasonable expectations like you running around!

I were told "behind-the-scenes" that we would get Horizon, The Last Guardian, a Crash Bandicoot "coming home party" etc. I'll never trust insiders again, unless it is those verified guys (I don't remember their names). I'm done getting hyped up.

I was no vacation at that time and had no idea of any of the leaks. Consequently, I thought the PSX was great. Solid showing from top to bottom. Also, the meat of it was for hardcore PlayStation fans. Anniversary edition console, panels about story telling, music, game designing and the rest of the stuff. I can't wait for this year's PSX.

Wot? Lol. I'll show you guys a PM I got a while ago. Gimme a sec. Don't know if this is allowed? Don't see why not but if it isn't someone reply so I don't post.

E: odd.

Yeah right, the QA Team always destroys the Dev Team in a MP match. Since, you know, QA will have WAY more hours on the game than the actual Devs.

That may be the case, but if my experience at my previous QA job was any indication, you'd maybe be surprised at how bad people were at the games. Testing is a whole lot different than actually playing a game, so the skillset doesn't necessarily transfer over to a competitive match, especially when you're doing adhoc and test runs on Uncharted 4's scale and not something more "focused" like Street Fighter.
