Caitlyn Jenner poses on the cover of Vanity Fair

She won the medals while she was a man, becoming a woman doesn't retroactively remove those achievements.

So let's assume she did this transformation in her sporting prime. With the strength and size of a man in the Olympics, would she compete against women? Is she not allowed to compete? Does she stay in the men category because she was born with a penis?

Googling these questions just gives me a bunch of trans-porn.

I'm really confused about how the gold medals now. Didn't she break the Olympic rules by competing against men?

Assume she became who she wanted in her prime, would she be able to compete against women? I would assume she would still have the strength of a man if competed?

How does that work in the sporting world?

Not trolling, I'm honestly interested and confused by how this would work.

It's been an issue for 40 years.

Why you so obsessed with her private parts— something you wanna tell us?

Glad someone said it.

Though making a new Twitter account(? Didn't they have one for Bruce?) is a little weird. Couldn't they just change the name? I guess they want a clean start.

I thought it was Janice Dickinson

I thought the photo was of Jessica Lange (had forgotten her name, had to look it up) at first. Got a bit confusing with people talking about he vs she etc. Good for Caitlyn anyway.

Well no to your first question. Bruce Jenner won those medals decades ago.

The scenario in your second question is a bit more complicated and I'm not really sure how that would be handled. I feel like she wouldn't be able to compete against other women, but who knows.

Isn't it offensive to say she became a woman?
hmm, perhaps. I can't really think of a different way to put it other than "transitioned".

Obviously deep down she was a woman all along, but there was a change involved. If it is offensive someone please let me know for future reference.

Probably worth it to put some of the shoot in the OP. This is pretty unbelievable that people can transform like this with modern technlogy, medicine, etc...

Literally looks like a model in her mid 40's. Looks like Angelina Jolie a tad bit.

This looks like Kris Jenner with longer hair... o_O

I'm glad she is happy. You can't really ask for more than that. I'm trying to think of what name I would choose if I were in a similar position.

Thanks, never knew about this. Not a big tennis fan. But it gives some insight into the process.

More recently there was a sprinter who is a man and a woman biologically.

I think it highly unlikely that someone will transition just to get a sports advantage, but there may be athletes that feel more comfortable transitioning while still in their primes and it will be complicated.

I find her attractive. I don't have much exposure to the transgender community, so this is the first time I've found someone that has transitioned as physically attractive. It's kind of an interesting feeling/thought that I suspect will become very normal as my exposure to transgender individuals increases.

I mean this post completely non-offensively, so if I used a term or said something that is inconsiderate, let me know, it really isn't my intent.

Yeah, she's looking pretty damn good there.

Is that a wig. She did have a weird mop for hair as a he, wonder if it grows back if you went bald.

She looks good, amazing what can be done. Happy life ahead.

I'd never really seen many transgender people and assumed that I wouldn't be attracted to them, until I saw this guy:

A transgender male model

I mean there is scarring there, but damn he's fine.

The fact that she is transgender is just because you know really, without that knowledge your just looking at a beautiful women, same as if she had been born physically female.

My suprise on the attractive front is age related not that she was born physically male.

Brave woman. Some of the comments being made in this thread are completely lacking in self awareness.

Come on, folks.

Seems like Kris still supports her? Dunno if they're still in a relationship/married on that subject though.

They split awhile back. I think Kris cheated on Caitlyn. (Has Cait officially told us to call him/her a she yet? During the interview Bruce wanted to be known as a he still)

She said she was still into women during the interview, iirc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong/she changed that.
Which is also actually nice with this high profile of a case since gender orientation does not equate sexual orientation.

I am so sick of hearing people say stuff like " oh its just a gay guy mutilating himself" or woman if the case may be.

She finally did it! Congratulations to Caitlyn. Having to wait all these years to finally be herself must of been agonizing, not to mention the strength it required for her to come out.

She's an inspiration to millions around the world. Kudos to Jenner, and especially her family to stand by her.

Yup, agreed. I think I saw him on Ellen recently.

I totally agree with you. I guess what I'm saying is that I suspected there would be some mental barrier that makes me find her unattractive, but as it turns out, that isn't the case. And, I agree as well, for her age she's especially good-looking.

I'd hit it

Caitlyn Jenner did not spell her first name with a "K" because she wants a clean break from the Kardashian moniker ... TMZ has learned.

Sources closely associated with Bruce tell us Caitlyn wants to make it clear to her family and the world ... she is her own person. That sounds obvious, but we're told it was an extremely meaningful choice for her ... she has never been her own person before, and becoming part of the Kardashian brood would undermine her goal.

Our sources say it's not that there's bad blood between Caitlyn and the Kardashians ... it's all about self-identity.

Yeah, funny how the famous for not being famous Kardashian family are helping Caitlyn publicly with this, and making a historical social issue more acceptable. Good on them.

My favorite thing out of the news before this magazine spread, was that Kanye West was the voice of reason for KimK.
