Port Mackerel Splatzones:

Looks quite fun with 2 Zones again. I better try and play on it before time runs out!

Oh, I forgot to mention, I've finally started alternating between the two Aerosprays and I'm looking to invest some time in learning a charger. With regards to the former, the Gold Aerospray's loadout makes the Blackbelly Splat Zones easy mode due to their reduced size. Just make your way to it one of them, place mine in the middle after fully claiming it, then take to the large tower in the middle of both. If you get really lucky, you can actually just chill up there defending both zones ezpz. Best part is, if you suspect someone closing in to get a kill off you, just lay a mine on the ground and take the fall. That tactic has allowed me to get some ridiculous support and revenge KOs leading to one or two less people for the squad to deal with on the ground below.

Most I've gotten was three that way. :lol

I just figured out you can throw the sprinkler and it can stick to walls. I figured the only option would be to set it down, becuase, ya know, it's so amazing. Now it's godliness is unparalleled.

Sprinkler for President. .92 Gal Party.

One of the most absurd things I've seen done in this game was a team member throwing a sprinkler onto the ceiling over the splat zone on Urchin Underpass and leaving it there. Because the other team had nothing that could consistently reach it to shoot it down, it pretty much just set up an auto win for us.

I was in tears. :lol

Yup, you see the two pink lines at the left? Those were me. I was doing stupid bad consistently for a few hours. It wasn't until maybe 4 hours (wait, what? It's been that long!?) ago that my horribad streak became a great streak. I was actually hitting people again. =D

You did it! My performance rises and dips as well. Taking another work break for now. Well, that and the TV is occupied. Shame about the lack of off-TV play, although I know that dual-screen play is necessary.

When you see a super jump marker, place an ink mine where they're about to land.

You're welcome, RG users.

I feel dumb for not thinking of this sooner

Omg got the sickest splat ever. Can this even be topped? Someone activated a bubble on me while I had Killer Wail ready. I then waited a bit, jumped off the stage and activated the Wail while falling to my death. That then killed the bubbler.

In the same match some Japanese fellow super jumped on me and pushed me to my death which wasn't nearly as cool.

I had a very silly moment doing this earlier. I blew up the other team's beacon and dropped a mine there in its place, painted a straight line to box them in (they were descending into a splat zone on Blackbelly) and ran a short distance away lining up shots in Squid Mode. It looked like a genocide. :lol

They could kill your teammate, so the sprinkler would disappear. Although that wouldn't stop him or her from throwing another sprinkler there again.

I was B- yesterday. C today. Lost every battle, every single one and I'm playing really badly with the Tentatek Splattershot (my best weapon in turf), the NZap is helping a lot with the radar though.

Oh Port Mackerel has two zones? I thought Blackbelly was the only one with two.

Well they only put Port Mackerel in Splatzones today, where it might be there all day like it was in Turf War all day.

And as everyone says, it's the best map for Splatzones. All the other maps should be scrapped for 24/7 Mackerel Splats.

EDIT: Nope, Port Mackerel has finally fled the scene in both Regular AND Ranked. Gonna trade game in.

Because playing on Port Mackerel all day was an amazing experience.

Oh wait I never want to play that stage again.

Happy now?! :P

Lv9 can't participate in ranked matches.

Ruining the whole thing!

Alot of that was idling while on GAF and many of the times activated was just to look at one thing, then turn it off.

Alright, the album now has all the regular clean maps and the clean splatzones maps. Big shout-out to MouldyK for providing me with the clean splatzones maps! Is there a place where we can share resources as SplatoonGAF? A lot of people have been posting a lot of good information these past couple of days, with solid numbers and proof to back it up with. Right now these posts get flooded in this OT and it would be awesome to have them all in one place.

Here's the album for all clean maps: http://imgur.com/a/SXG9B

This is fucking annoying. I either win or loose like 5 in a row. I would be ok with a 50/50 scenario and I can just hold my rank but these losses make me derank.

I now want a series of Nichijou tier animated shorts of various Splatoon happenings in the style of that comic above. :lol

The left hand comic is too apt. There's nothing like flying into a pincer or an inkstrike like that.

yup. advanced sprinkler placement does insane amounts of work. you can throw it aggressively into key enemy pathways leading to a choke you're holding, behind you to hear an enemy coming when you're camping a ledge like in mall, stick them to the walls opposite of underpass's splat zone so the enemy has to ink a new path and THEN go out in the open facing away from you to get that sprinkler (at which point they're already dead), stick it on moving objects...

so much you can do with that sucker, the more unusual your strats the harder it'll be for he enemy team to deal with

The second one happens way too often for me.

You know... I see people hating on Bomb Throw Up, but I've seen it make a difference for me. It can be stupid useful for scaring snipers off of their perch from a safer distance.
Both of these are true and the first one is why I rarely super jump. The worst is definately the right one. I play charger mainly and I always want to get up places but I always get caught out by one little gap. Drop down to fill it and BAM dead. Every single game.

Yup, you know the struggle. =( Fellow Charger here who has been affected by that more than I would like to admit.

Snipers are the reason why I've had fantasies of an Aerospray with Suction Bombs, throwable mines or Seekers that traveled up walls. :lol

Oh my god, the final boss absolutely lives up to all the hype surrounding it. It's original, hugely entertaining, and intense, with some true white-knuckle moments of genuine challenge.

Nintendo really outdid themselves here. Holy crap. I'm still reeling from it.

Also, completing the single-player mode has really improved my online performance in a noticeable, appreciable way. I can't believe how much more easily I'm taking people down and avoiding others' attacks compared to before I finished it. The campaign does a great job of teaching you the instincts and gut reactions you need to be good at this game.

But did it teach you to be better than Andre? =P

Now play Ranked Battle and watch as your little inkling goes from scrappy hero/heroine to a mythological figure capable of solo carrying entire matches to victory.
Or get horrifically blown out every time you take a step forward.

I agree. I initially got this game with the mindset of "Ugh, maybe I have to force myself to like it...' but ended up not being able to put it down.

The final boss was just fucking fantastic. My hands started to sweat, and that NEVER happens with me in games. Everything about it was fantastic, the elements, the vibe, the music, the rewards (end credits music). It was the Nintendo polish I did NOT see coming. I can't recommend this game enough, and typically I HATE shooters.

I just assumed they were all the same character.

Even so that doesn't change the fact I stated. However, if that's true it's kind of cool. Reminds me of King K. Rool for some reason.

Some SP mechanics should be implemented in the online mode for example those sponges that you've to splat to make them bigger.

Those mechanic could really give some twists to the maps, imo.

Also, am I the only one who feels the squid sisters vocals (final boss phase, and credits) have kind of an Enka vibe to their vocal style?

I think it's actually mentioned in the secret scrolls that
their singing style is definitely influenced by "old school" or something to that effect.

The "inkrails" too, there could be a stage with huge gaps where you could only travel through inkrails (or super jumping to comrades).
