Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

The hell? How many of us will be alive then? Lifes too short

You see, playing these games is a privelage! ;) The sense of entitlement is crazy. Movies don't get increased graphics, nor does TV or youtube, or chess, or volleyball. I can't believe we're getting a Fallout that is going to use more hardware assets to produce an even more realistic world than before. Like, it's a gift that your favorite games get evolved, not just appended.

Pshhhhhhhhhh, my PS3 can do all that.

tehe

Frankly, this looks amazing. Now all I need is a huge list of songs, three dog telling me stories, that the engine isn't complete shite, and an open world like Witcher 3 with minimum loading screens and I'm good.

Yeah, that's Fallout. I think the only thing that was any sort of surprise in this trailer was the voiced protagonist
and the god awful models and animations.

I've never played Fallout game, so it'll be my first. The atmosphere and art direction in the trailer was pretty good, so I'm looking forward to play it.

Sure it doesn't look as good as W3, but not every game has to. It's the story and quests that matters in such games, so I hope they took notes from W3 in this area.

I'm excited. Some of those shots of towns and whatnot looked pretty far developed, but it's been a while since I've played anything Fallout. Or they could just be further down the timeline after the war.

As for the graphics, they looked fine to me. Definitely nothing jaw dropping, but I like the colors and the visual style. I have hopes that this won't run like a slideshow on PS4.

I've made an album of 18 screengrabs of the gamersyde trailer

You just took screenshots from GAMERSYDE and put them on IMGUR?

Wtf....

Watch a movie from 30 years ago. And then Mad Max Fury Road. TV got HD tv and soon 4k. Same for youtube.

I don't mind graphics not being "OMG best visuals ever" if it means we get stuff like seamless interiors, a larger world and more lively settlements, better AI, weather, an ecosystem, etc.

I think that stuff matters a lot more for a game like Fallout than better visuals. I'd take a hit in graphics if that means better gameplay and a more dynamic wasteland

This is the colorful RPG gen. Witcher 3 had its color palette upped considerably from the pre-release media. Then you have Dragon Age: I which is very colorful and now Fallout 4. I'm loving this. No more drab washed out color palette's for me.

2015 release is very likely. They've gone on record many times saying they want to wait until the game is almost complete before revealing it, so they can show us exactly what it is and get it out fast. Pete Hines talked about this a lot on the Bonus Round at last year's QuakeCon.

This is one ugly fucking game. And animations that would be out of place in almost any open world game from last gen. I cant even tell you how disappointing that trailer was.

You know Behtesda has made a lot of money from the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. A lot of money. This is how they repay us. Pocketing every spare cent and rolling out this same shitty engine over and over. Bunch of cocksuckers.

I H8 Bethesda

I have only been awake for about 20 min and came into this thread. Is the sentiment really negative about this game? What is causing it? I woke up, saw the thread, saw the trailer, got excited, posted my thoughts about the trailer looking like it might be one of the few that will be like that (albeit PC) and then I begin to read all the negative type of stuff.

I think the powers that be at NeoGaf need to create a technology that makes people rank their sentiment when they make a post, it could be like a life bar at the top of the thread or a power meter to gauge it. lol

War never changes, and a dog?

Well. Can't blame them.

Graphics don't look really great but it doesn't matter too much, they don't look too bad, quite good in some shots.

Seems interesting, hopefully story stuff is even better and the combat...is a bit different.

Would you change your tune if it was 60 FPS? Which we do not know yet?

If you mean PC. I somehow really, really doubt this can happen for consoles, because the industry standard is to push graphics as far as you can without making the gameplay completely untenable. (for the majority of gamers of course, you 60fps purists.)

I remember Insomaniac did the study about how 60fps has diminishing returns compared to prettier graphics, and the facts in the industry thus far have proven that theory completely right.

Saying something is "factual" and then proceeding to provide an opinion doesn't really give your arguments the credibility you seem to think they possess.

Ive given my opinion several times so for you I shall again.

It lacks cohesion, there is no narrative, it is disjointed. The trailer opens within seconds with flashback scenes before even establishing what is going on. Our only characterization is a dog that lacks any distinguishing actions, features, or explanation. Is the world our focus? If so than why is it constant quick cuts of various brief locations interspersed with how they used to look? Is this a time travel game?

Similar to FO3 the brief glimpses of settlements are convoluted, ornate, and fantasy in the amount of technological innovation these post war communities apparently can scrounge together. Who has power armor hanging in a gas station within view of a city?

What again should I be impressed, impacted, and influenced by? In what way does this trailer impart a cohesive vision on the narrative/moral goals of the game? It's a very generic the apocalypse has happened retread tonally in a series that had already addressed that in the very first and third games. It's not a surprise this is Bethesdas idea because they are a financially motivated focus group testing creatively deplorable outfit.

So yet again...what does the trailer actually bring to the table?

I seriously do not know what people were expecting. It's a Fallout game and it's open world. It was never going to be the most gorgeous game this gen has ever seen.

The people who liked brown are going to get more vocal as the gen goes on, causing developers to go back to the grey-brown standard next gen. Just watch. It's a cycle dammit.

To be honest, I don't mind either way. Gray gritty and brown gets more hate than it deserves.

Please sir, with your thinking cap on give me a critical analysis of the literary, artistic and direction/design merits of that trailer.

What did you find that it did successfully? How did it illuminate for you a cohesive picture of the goals, intentions, and characterizations within the game?

There is objective analysis in life. Games are not immune to it just by virtue of mostly being uncultured dopamine fixation power fantasies. They can be evaluated on their merits in a vacuum using existant structures and considerations.

I can objectively state Don Quixote is superior to Twilight: New Moon. Near cases are obviously more difficult to evaluate but as we say: a spade is a spade. And that trailer had spades of shit with nary a coherent thought to show.

I'm not even going to try to match up to your pretentiousness but let me start by saying that as a teaser trailer (aiming to intrigue by showcasing aspects of a production, often without context) this was successful in getting my attention for Fallout 4.

The opening of the teaser began as previous games in the Fallout series. Though this time there was a type of meta-reveal by using the same screen as the countdown site, which launched immediately into the TV screen. Further, the juxtaposition of the ruined house being explored by the dog with the flashback to that same structure prior to nuclear launch was quite enjoyable. These visuals also proceeded to showcase new colors and environments that worked in stark contrast to the shots of barren wasteland.

Finally, the MC reveal included voice acting for the first time, as well as a bookend to the journey of the dog from the start of the trailer. As for his personal characterization and motivations, I have no idea because we have literally a teaser trailer to go off of.

In the end, you can have whatever fucking opinion you want, but please, recognize that it is just that - an opinion. You clearly have no interest in this game, so please, create another thread dedicated to your view of "uncultured dopamine fixation power fantasies."

The graphics look awesome to me. The best part though is they look like they can actually run on ps4 / xb1. I would take this over bullshots and a downgrade right before release anyday. Day fucking 1, even with Bethesdas glitches.

If this comes out during the summer I would be soo happy.

I have never played a Fallout game, I will admit (Although I dabbled in Fallout 3 for a bit), but I like the visuals. They look very colorful and vibrant, the world looks varied and interesting to explore.

The fact that fallout 4 exists and is coming. That is all it needed to do.

I know it has said before, but except the IQ, graphic it seems a ps360 port for now. O_O
Actually, the IQ is terrible -- right now at least. Higher res I guess, but even most ps360 games had better AA.

(On the other hand, the assets are obviously above 360 open world game level)

Maybe if someone takes one of the screen shots that were posted, edit it in photo shop and put black bars at the top and bottom, perhaps we can weed out all the "The Order" folks complaining it does not look as good as The Order.

Yeah, this is the second time recently I feel like I am in a different world than Teh Internets

Before this the Witcher 3 "downgrade" talk.

I really hoped that Obsidian have classic FO spiritual successor as their next kickstarter in line.
Don't think Obsidian will ever work with Bethesda ever again after the stupid, Metacritic deal.
Meanwhile my tolerance on Bethesda absolute awful gameplay and story is at it peak.

I still can't figure out if the Memory Den is something related to the flashback scenes or if it's just a brothel. There is a GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS sign right outside.
