Bruh

It's from a mod. A great one at that (TTW), but the modders aren't privy to some sekrit information so it's just a joke/guess.

Never played a fallout before. Looking good for as ambitious as I hear these games are from an open world standpoint. I'm fine with its looks and I'm excited to see what this franchise is all about finally.:)

Problem with october is MGSV and Mad Max! But if Fallout 4 drops that month, I will prioritize it over the other two!

In terms of sales volume Fallout 4 would annihilate both.

If Fallout 4 is hitting this year I feel bad for anyone launching near it

Edit: and they are both September

Is there a story reason behind the Fallout world looking like the 50's even though it takes place in the future?

Alternate history. America turns into an autocratic regime, the Cold War never ends and transitors are not invented until well into the XXI century, while nuclear power is used as ways to make for the dwindling amounts of oil, which finally trigger WW3.

.
The series is set in a fictionalized United States alternate history scenario that diverged from our reality following World War II. The transistor was not invented, while vacuum tubes and atomic physics became the cornerstones to scientific progress, eventually achieving the technological aspirations of the early Atomic Age and locking society into a 1950s cultural stasis. Thus, in this alternative "golden age", a bizarre socio-technological status quo emerges, in which advanced robots, nuclear-powered cars, directed-energy weapons, and other futuristic technologies are seen alongside 1950s-era computers and telephones, and the aesthetics and Cold War paranoia of the 1950s continue to dominate the American lifestyle well into the 21st century.

Proud of Bethesda for the smart business decision. Milk them profits.
this game looks exactly like the turd the trailer dog would actually shit out

You know that idiom doesn't mean anything, correct?

It's a reflexive psychological defense mechanism humans use to detach themselves from differing points of view in an attempt to claim that those with contrary ideas must be incapable of existing in a social framework outside of their opinion and thusly devaluing their worth as a human an based on their acceptance by a community.

It's effectively an attempt to dehumanize others. Interesting that my constructed opinions have had enough of an effect on your life that you have to attempt to break me down on a personal level in order to feel better about yourself.

Have you ever thought of the sheer cruelty of what you're doing there? That you need to attempt to bully and intimidate someone and make them feel like less of a human because of their Internet posted opinion? I'm sorry your moral center is so damaged, I hope it gets better someday. I'd suggest seeing a therapist. :)
Someone excited about a game posted a rebuke of a negative opinion = a damaged moral center, in need of a therapist

Okay

But more on topic, it's called a teaser for a reason.

They chose to put limited information about their narrative focused game as a way to sell their game.

This is how they want this game to be perceived. As shallow, trite, lacking cohesion.

What one doesn't say is just as relevant as what one does. You're also backtracking, and failed to justify your personal attack, as well as failing to articulate what about the trailer is actually not worthy of derision.

This is what they've shown. On evaluation, it is lacking. If it were defensible you would step up to the plate and make a defense of it, but your goto strategy was to attempt to discredit me as a speaker rather than stay on the topic.
Because it's a trailer. That's what trailers are supposed to do. Unless you're one of those people who likes having the whole plot spelled out for you in a trailer, but even then, a lot of people would argue that that's what would make a SHITTY trailer. Not to mention all of your nonsensical talk about the fabled "Objective opinion" which intellectual internet try hards have tried to claim exists for decades now.

I have justified what I've said about you, by saying you're over reacting to limited information and willing to make comments on what the end product will be while only seeing a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of what the game entails. This is judging a book by it's cover, and doing it so harshly and critically that it makes your opinion look laughable and very hard to take seriously.

The objective opinion. Quite the oxymoron.

So it's only an opinion that James Joyce had a superior grasp of narrative construction than Dan Brown?

Are you of the belief video games are immune to critical analysis? Or they should be? Your position is smarmy without any real depth. I know it hurts your fragile ego but some artistic creations simply miss the mark.

It's what we call artifice.

It's STILL the exact same codebase.

It's obvious since DAoC was using the same engine and always matched the same upgrades.

Oblivion was run by Netimmerse/Gamebryo and a bunch other middleware that went along it. Same as DAoC.

The trees and grass were SpeedTree (same in DAoC and now Witcher 3), and they even used middleware for their ugly "faces", that was also licensed a year later for DAoC.

Same for the physics engine.

Netimmerse/Gamebryo was basically a collection of middleware engines horribly plastered together.

It used to be the same code, a very long time ago. These days it's like two different engines with the same common ancestor. In fact the trees (you mentioned SpeedTree) are a perfect example - Bethesda created their own in-house tree and foliage solution after Fallout 3 so that they didn't need to use SpeedTree any more. It's why Skyrim was such a big step up where tree detail and LOD were concerned over Oblivion.

Are you real?

Yes. As hard as this may be for you to believe, it's only an opinion.

I'm astounded – after years of bullshots and publisher deception – that people are complaining about an actual trailer that shows the game in a feasible presentation that they would achieve in time for release.

This is a really good point. It's like developers can't really win. They can show something with incredible visuals and people will either doubt it or complain when the final product inevitably can't live up to the trailer, or they can show a more realistic trailer (which is of similar graphical quality to most other modern releases) and people complain that it doesn't look good enough.

This is NeoGAF. It would seem like anyone who frequents NeoGAF would know what to realistically expect from a current-gen open world game in 2015/2016 at this point, yet people act like there are tons of other huge open-world games that look miles better than what we're seeing from games like Fallout 4 or The Witcher 3 or whatever. I just don't understand where some people are coming from. You can't expect it to look like the graphically best linear 6-10 hour games and provide a huge open world and 100+ hours of content, we just aren't there yet.

This will do gangbusters and drive console sales on both platforms, hell I already pre-ordered this morning on GMG (thanks wario64!). Who ever gets marketing rights and a bundle on shelves will be a very, very happy platform holder this fall.

Looks nice overall and I'm glad to see there seems to be more variety and colors in the landscapes, but there is something I'm just not feeling here, can't put my finger on it.

The way the Dog was rendered in the house looked a bit off too.

Will need to see more before I can form any opinion.

One of the things I'm not happy to see is the return of the shitty physics (see the part in the supermarket with the ghouls).

Also if the main character really talks in the game, that may come close from a dealbreaker.

Next we will have to see if they went and over-simplified everything like in Skyrim, that wouldn't be nice either.

Hard to get hyped when Bethesda fucked up Fallout 3 so badly and then let Obsidian take the shit for New Vegas despite it kicking the crap out of their game.

Are you a real human bean?

Did anyone else stop and think about the fact that the character speaks out loud ("come on, boy" or whatever) at the end? That's presumably the player character. I wonder if we're getting voiced PCs this time.

Yeah, a number of people have brought that up (there's a thread now talking about voiced PCs in RPGs)... I think choice in character creation in RPGs is always a good idea and having a voiced character perhaps signifies being locked into a particular template? Though you could easily have a voiced female PC as well a la ME and they just aren't showing it in this trailer. You know, come to think of it, it would have been a cool break from tradition to have the Vault Dweller PC shown in the trailer to be a woman, regardless of whether you can choose your gender.

Is this legit, or a fake? What is the source of this?

hoo boy. If that's not altered and has been staring us in the face the whole time.... lol

edit: ahh, it's a mod. Figures lol
