Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

I imagine there will still be gloomy looking weather in the game. They are probably showing blue skies because its new. I doubt the whole game will be filled with sunny blue skies all the time.

If they make it all sunny and blue skies it might be a nice way to juxtapose the grim life style of a post-apocalyptic world.

I know it's probably just PR fluff, but this warms the cockles of my heart;

I love it when devs are genuinely excited about a game, and they know how excited their fans are.

But here's the question though, is he saying that to the Fallout fans or the Fallout 3 fans?

Mind sharing this particular interactivity that's missing in these games? Is it like Crysis where you interact with every object like box, cans and stuff?

Fallout has a lot more elements that the engine has to keep track of as permanent denizens of the world. The game will be packed with a lot more talking, relevant characters, items and physics objects, and all of that takes a toll development wise. Fallout is a much bigger game than most of those others for reasons I don't even feel like I ought to have to explain, I mean, you've played them, right? Fallout is a bit different from something like inFamous or even Witcher 3 where much of the world is static, simple, and doesn't change much based on your actions.

You can still compare the graphics to any other open world game though.

but when you omit context, purposely or otherwise, that means there's little to no value in that comparison.

IF it's true, it sounds like they're trying to make it more character/story focused like the Witcher series. I really hope it's not true.
I wouldn't mind. I'm more story/narrative driven. And everything I liked from the games should be kept the same outside really as I never chose the weird classes.

That 4k screenshot makes me all tingly inside knowing I have a PC that will easily beast this game.

Bring it the fuck on, please. Especially as someone who doesn't really enjoy TES games, I need this.

And I love how they kept the same musical motif from FO3 for this trailer music. So good and it brought the memories back for me so fast.

Lol, in-game Rome 2 doesn't look nowhere near like that. Those pics are legit pre rendered bullshots.

Uh I played the game well enough to know it does look like that ingame. We don't get the nice animations shown in the "beasts of war" trailer but the game definitely looks good.
Go check some user screens in the forums or in the Steam hub page.

"All have about 1/100th of the interactivity of Fallout 4."

Let's not pretend like that justifies every graphical pitfall that is blatantly apparent in the trailer.

At least they didn't show a bullshot trailer. The game looks OK in terms of visuals almost like a good last gen game. Hopefully it will look much better by release. But at least they are not fooling us by showing "in-game" crap and disappointing everyone at release time.

So, with women and gaming being a big deal these days, how pissed are people going to be that you can only play as a man?

What's the excuse? Voice acting= $$$, so budget cuts?

If there is a character creation option and it's male only then it's super lame. If there is a crafted and fleshed out protagonist then it's not lame.

You can still compare the graphics to any other open world game though. But I am not very worried about that. Gonna wait for mods on PC.

I'm not worried about mods. I want the game as shipped. Mods can look great, but I'm also telling myself that ''it's not good enough''. I own a PC and I rarely use mods. I realize each TES and Fallout had mods that made the games look great and were also hilarious. I'm also a person who has owned a TV and a console as the primary method to play the game (even without the internet). I'm more excited to get the disc (or day 1 digital) and be able to play it on my TV regardless.

You act like they shit in your cereal. They don't owe you anything... if you don't like it, move on to something else.

This graphics backlash is bullshit.

I see this...

...and I'm ready to explore. It's beautiful. Give me a big fucking map of this and let me loose.

and you (and many) act like it's your duty to not let anybody say something bad about it

can we like, be hyped and complaint? and have different shades of opinions on it?

i'll never understand "you don't like thing!? NGNGNH GO AWAY!!!" attitude

thank fuck we can complain about videogames and demand more

Curious to know what will set this apart from the last game and what about it will feel like a new gen game. Bigger world, maybe? More NPCs?

No, it would be terrible fucking lame. No character creation on a fucking fallout game? Fuck that shit.

Lock me in a vault until this comes out.

I'm glad this doesn't look unrealistically good. At least for how far we are in the current gen. The graphics don't look mind-blowing, but still impressive for a big open world Bethesda game. Hell of a lot better than Skyrim and past Fallout games.

Looks all right. Beth needs to show how they've revised the game, combat, and AI systems now. If they've learned nothing from F3 or Skyrim, then this will end up being nothing but another theme park ride.

If they make it all sunny and blue skies it might be a nice way to juxtapose the grim life style of a post-apocalyptic world.
I think if its only sunny once in a while, it will be a nice break from the bleak and a reminder of nicer times before the great war. The sunny weather will probably highlight the more colorful scenery in the game and when its cloudy, it will have more of that brown look.

It 100% absolutely is lame, because nearly every game on the market is a "crafted and fleshed out" male protagonist and the Fallout series (and Bethesda games in general) have never been about that. They have been about making your own characters and it is definitely something that has attracted women gamers to the series.

Do you have any videos of those said game world changes in previous iterations of Fallout?

Except there's no shades of opinion with his posts. Well... extreme shades of hyperbole and trolling.

I don't have a problem with people saying they are unimpressed with the visuals.

so? its his

what's hyperbole? I think the game looks fucking terrible for a next-gen thing

that's hyperbole? according to whom?

I don't have a problem with people saying they are unimpressed with the visuals.

why would you have a problem with anything!!

so I can write

"I am unimpressed with the visuals"

but I cant write

"looks like dogshit for supposedly current-gen only"

if anything Artanisix is being way more adecuate than me with language

I, like many other people, was initially disappointed with the graphics though not entirely surprised. I've played most of the Bethesda games and loved them all but the graphics have never been cutting edge, combat has been janky, plus character models and animation seem to be stuck in a time warp (they're awful). What they sacrifice in those areas they usually make up for in open world exploration (although I hear Witcher 3 has raised the bar in that regard).

I have complete faith that once modders get their hands on it, it will look closer to what people were hoping for. If you don't believe me just look at what a fully modded Skyrim can look like today vs. when it was first released. I'd never played Fallout: New Vegas when it first came out but started playing it last year fully modded and it looks amazing vs. vanilla. If I've learned anything it's just to wait and be patient. Between bug patches, driver updates, and mods it'll be a much better/different game a year after its released.

Some parts look really good, and some parts looked jarringly last-gen. I think that's what threw me off while watching personally.
this was my impression as well. every other scene/shot looked like we were alternating console generations.

but the graphics have never been cutting edge
both Oblivion and Skyrim were pretty impressive for their time. Oblivion definitely became one of those "the next-gen has arrived" titles. it was certainly something that would not have been possible on the previous generation of hardware.

You act like they shit in your cereal. They don't owe you anything... if you don't like it, move on to something else.

Then don't question people again and again if they disagree with what you think. It's not even like you have any good argument rather than this vague "interactions".

I dont think the graphics are that bad, I like the art direction though, going for a more colorful wasteland which I approve of. Just cause the world is dead doesnt mean colors died too!!

Yep, I really like the look of it, regardless as to whether or not it's missing some bells and whistles.

The only thing I'm apprehensive about are the character models/faces/animations.

What's hyperbole and shit posting? Do you need me to dig out his history?

look at this shit

just look at it and tell me that dont look like an xbox360 game

you see that dog water bowl

do you see that water bowl

u can mOVE THAT water bowl and put it on someones head

thats why there is no aa or ao and the dog has muddy textures #justified

MUH GRAPHIX NEXT GEN EXPERIENCE

"What makes The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 "completely different beasts"? They're both open world, next gen, single player RPGS?"

b-but the world is so large and there's probably seamless loading! and you can move every spoon so that means they shouldn't cast any shading. and at least we know it looks like shit instead of having it downgraded from 11/10 to 10/10 graphics!

Fuck this garbage.

Wow. 52 pages? Crazy.

Graphics shmaphics. The world looks awesome. It's Fallout. It's never been about the graphics, so I don't see why this is so disappointing to people. The game looks better than its predecessors by a large margin. People saying it looks last gen are nuts.

I may put myself on blackout after the E3 announcement. I don't want to hear leaked story or world details.
