Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

It was though. Skyrim is by far the most immersive game I've played (along with Fallout 3 and more recently, The Witcher).

The sound design, the atmosphere, the aurora, the beautiful ambient score. Nothing else like it to me.

I agree. Skyrim's still one of my GOAT games. Only Witcher 3 has recently managed to beat it in terms of immersion for me.

If at any point during that presentation we see the world freeze for a character to poorly gab at you, or a loading screen upon entering a small building, then we're going to see some opinions change all right.

I also agree. Probably not a popular opinion on here though.

LTTP but is there any confirmation of where Fallout 4 is taking place? I really hope it's not somewhere on the east coast.

Am I the only on to notice that those don't look like humans but rather super mutants in armor?

Power Armor was always supposed to be that big. The Gamebryo Fallout games fucked it up by making them smaller. Just look at the player model wearing it on the 2D Fallout games. They get at least a foot taller.

This thread is fucking retarded. I hope the mods create a downgrade/shitposting thread like they did for Witcher 3. Keep that shit(along with all the FO3 vs NV shit) in one place.
Real nice...
So you basically want a hype thread with no criticism or opinions varying from yours. Ok.

at least bethesda bought some other crayons beside green and brown, it maintains the post acopalyptic feel with just enough colour.

The same can be said for other open world games that came out that look better .
The had a extra year and half with system with final specs .
So that don't really mean anything .

But that's subjective, and not all devs are the same. We know Bethesda aren't the most technically proficient devs in the industry. So time spent with a certain system and the talent of the dev absolutely are important factors when taking into account why this game in particular looks the way it does.

Who cares how it looks? Even when fallout 3 came out it looked pretty average. I don't think people play any fallout games because of how they look.

Apparently people do. I don't know. I just don't consider graphics as important as a lot of people seem to. I just want to have a good time.

Just saw the trailer. I like the setting and the world, I guess this will be fun.

But I'm very disappointed by the graphics. When the dog first appeared, I thought for a second this was fucking mobile game. Doesn't look good at all. If they thought this was fine for a first impression, I wonder how the rest will look. The lighting also looks boring and bad, which is also disappointing. Good lighting can make a game's visuals so much better.

I'm pretty sure this was a crossgen game at some point, and they decided to skip lastgen a while ago so they could advertise it as nextgen only game. Unfortunately it doesn't really look much like a nextgen game. Scale seems to be a little bigger than previous games and the resolution is obviously higher. But other than that? Meh. I look at those screenshots and the trailer, and it just looks old. /sad

The images look good graphically, but my problem with series has always been that I get tired of looking at wasteland and rocks and broken buildings everywhere. It's depressing.
Hopefully there's more variety in this game.

The argument that this just looks like a post apocalyptic Skyrim with guns takes me back to Fallout 3 being just Oblivion with guns to some people.

I guess what they say is right.

War never changes.

I'm surprised that so many people are focusing on the graphics and not the awful animations that seem to be present in yet another Bethesda title. I hoped and prayed that this game would have some decent animations, but it looks like we're doomed to play in a world where everyone has stiff joints. Even the dogs. :(

This...I mean you get use to it after awhile and I love this series a lot,but I also thought that with the current gen, they would improve that(and they still might)but when I saw the dog turn I was damn,oh well.

They are a succesful developer with games that sold a lot, if they don't have the "most technically proficient devs" they can hire new.

Even indies with no budget are using physical based shaders to make their games better looking, Bethesda has no excuses.

Also the animations keep being stiff as the older games, I wonder if they actually use mocap at all.

For me it's less about the graphics/tech and more about stuff jumping out as interesting or exciting and nothing in the trailer does that for me.

Gamebryo gonna Gamebryo.

Sadly, we're all used it.

So what about the part where you are in a helicopter thingy, do you guys think we will able to fly stuff?

I agree

discussing graphics got fun but the trailer really didn't do anything for me

only thing I find interesting is the potential to play some "before nuclear shit went down" part of it, cause otherwise it looks very samey and the whole tone / look / and out of place orchestal music really threw me off

Well I see a shit ton of rust in this picture.

We really haven't seen much of the game to really make that statement honestly.

The deathclaw area looked really cool with all that haze tho.

The shading on that robot and the crane give me hope. I bet it would look pretty good in native 1080p footage.

This will be my first Fallout game.

So, the story from previous games matters? If so, can someone link me to a summary of Fallout world or explain in a few lines just to get the context?

The MC being an outsider in the vault makes sense. Or maybe the descendant of some of the folks who couldn't get in time but somehow managed to sneak into it after the bombs fell.

From the trailer:

I could see the father being the protagonist. Maybe the mother also.

That coupled with the rumoured cryostasis would allow for an interesting man out of time story. A person accustomed to a normal world, but not this hostile one they now live in.

Story-wise it could be interesting. Flashbacks ofto times of peace, perhaps being introduced to characters who are important in both time periods (say, for instance, your neighbour's descendants becoming some kind of clan, or something).

From a storytelling perspective I could see them going with that instead of being a Vault dweller.

EDIT:
But I guess the protagonist does have the typical Vault dweller jumpsuit. Hmm.
