Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Im missing something simple.....how does the other team see when you're going to squid jump?
Whenever you super jump to a place, an indicator on the ground points out where you will land. Everyone can see it, including your enemies.

That, and if they happen to be looking towards your spawn point's direction, they can see you flying out.

You're not going to be covering the most Turf of your team most likely but you have every chance of turning into an invaluable asset for approaches. Think of it as a single shot Charger with a little bit of distance cut off to make up for easier shots and impact. Try to maintain straight path ways when you're inking so you can refill/go faster after every shot and try to eliminate enemies when you come across them.

So it's mainly for anti-personnel? This isn't my usual play style. I'm TRYING, though, in part because it's the coolest looking weapon. Also trying to find ANYTHING that feels worth my time compared to the Splatter JR.

Anyone have any Blaster tips? I want to like this weapon, but it's so hard to do well mainly because of the ink coverage is so slow compared to the splatter JR I usually use.

for turf wars? my tip would be to not use it. if you really want to use it in turf wars make sure you're really efficient with your lines. do them side by side with no overlap.

for ranked? always lead with a disruptor bomb. also if you're close to getting your special it only takes a shot or two to put it over the top. a well placed killer wail can be the turning point of a match.

This is very interesting, thanks! I hope someone compiles a spreadsheet, or some kind of overall faq on it. But this is something I was looking for. Did you find this on here? Or Reddit. I've only stayed in this thread so far (in terms of the games community).

I found it on the splatoon reddit.

Thanks.

Anyone know how many hit points a standard inkling has?

I think it's always 100 regardless of buffs.

Just in case you missed it

Splatoon did pretty well in Japan, no? Barely any stock left

I am in the same room for a while and I always get matched up against this guy named Alf. He has a charger and I have a roller - and every match we have one encounter near the middle, so we kinda established a little rivalry heh.

Thanks again for posting it here. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out over at the subreddit as well as GameFaqs. I'm going to spend all my time here though, because everyone here is really nice and helpful. I mean, just look at this..

Tips like these, are really invaluable.

Pretty much. It comes bundled with the Disruptor which is explicitly a weapon meant to debuff opponents so they're easy pickings, and the Killer Wail doesn't cover any ink and is a purely offensive weapon.

It's a solid weapon for what it is and I do feel that it's being slept on to a degree (partially because now that I'm maining the .96 Gal I feel like the meta of dispatching opponents is a bit more important than I realize), but obviously not every playstyle is for everyone and I suggest messing with what you're comfortable with - even though I do love to switch out to weapons I'm not used to every once in a while and experiment. I can afford doing that in regular Turf Wars, but sometimes weapons are more valuable in Ranked than they are in Regular. Blaster is one of them.

I think the Rapid Blaster might suit your fancy more if you have to go with any of the Blaster type weapons. It comes equipped with the Bubbler and shoots faster than the Blaster at the cost of some less damage. The closest recommendations I can give for someone who likes the Splattershot Jr. is any of the AeroSprays, the N-Zap '85 or to a lesser extent the Dual Squelcher.

Yahoo! B Rank achieved. Thank you .96 gal for this run. The struggle was real today as I had at least 4 matches where one squid would always drop out. And I had one DC right as we won the match... :(

At least we won a couple Extra Time matches from behind. I could feel the salt from the other team as the match ended. ^^

We lost by 1 percent and I had 1200 points compared to their highest of 1150. These are the losses that hurt the most, especially considering we were in danger the majority of the match

I think aerosprays damage needs to be toned down.

To me guns should be balanced between painting oriented and killing oriented. I feel aerospray has a bit too much killing power for how much it can paint.

I don't understand how Splat Zones works. The rules seemed simple enough at first; take control of zones, and the score timer goes down. But there are secondary score timers underneath the main ones? Our main timer didn't decrease until the secondary one reached zero. And then we ended up in extra time for some reason, and the game didn't end until our secondary timer hit zero, which caused our main timer to decrease one below the opponent team, and we won.

If your playing rank battles and your special isn't ink strike then get off rank battles case you will be shunned

Damn. Everyone that has had 1500 so far was using the Aerospray.

As I said earlier, I only reached 1400 + using Aerospray on Turf. Really impressed to see so many 1500's here though.

Your score is higher the more the opponents have freedom, since you can then cover more areas. You probably had a team that held the opponent back too much.

Also, roller shotgun splats duels are REALLY satisfying

It's damage isn't that high, I believe it takes 5 hits to kill someone with it. It just has such a high rate of fire, which helps a lot.

And a gal takes what? 3, 2 if you got damage boosts? That's not much difference especially with gal's low ass fire rate. Gal has the range of course, but range is so situational in this game.

I officially hate Arawana Mall in ranked.

Not a fan of that map in general tbh. I dunno, something about it rubs me the wrong way. It's one of the few times I get kind of annoyed playing a map over and over again.

That's true. As I said earlier, high score doesn't necessarily equate to skill. But it's still cool to see how high people can get their score. Although tbh, I guess after I started playing Ranked (once I hit 20), I haven't really thought about Turf scores in a while.

It's not nearly as bad a Saltspray Rig, the worst map across both modes.
Just a terrible, terrible map.

Wow, really? I love Saltspray Rig. :o

I'm kind of curious what the general consensus is here, for which map is the best/worst (or more so, least favorite, most favorite).

The aerospray takes 5-6 hits to kill in a game where most weapons kill in 1-2 hits. I think it's fine. Aerospray users already have to put in work to get close to people using the large number of weapons with much larger ranges.

Warning: this game will troll you hardcore. I woke up with 40k in the bank, with plans to spend 30k on the ink resistance boots I had ordered. I checked all my shops and nothing else noteworthy was within. I then bought the boots from Spike. I go back into my shoes shop, and now the boots are listed there! I know for a fact they were not there before, so the game is intentionally trolling me to make me think I just wasted money on Spike instead of just buying from shop.

Play some ranked splat zone. You will quickly change your mind. The Aerospray has no power there. It's range is pathetic!

Nah, Aerospray loses to .52 gal and .92 gal bad. Probably also blasters as well.
...and chargers... and squelchers... :D

My next game went like this:

First time i've used this in this OT...it won't be the last. >_>
This comic killed me.

I guess. But even then if you're being outkilled by say .52s, it doesn't take much to regain that ground with an aerospray. You also get your specials faster. Even with a less of a kill score, you still can easily come out ahead.

If you die as a .52 against an aerospray then you're pretty much flat out fucked due to the amount of coverage they'll get.

Yeah seriously. It might be my favorite map.

Aerospray is great for spread, and is balanced for combat (as you said). I too think it's fine.

I don't really dislike any map, honestly. Mall and Port can be tough with good chargers but eh, I dig them all.

I just hit C+ after my 2 games of ranked for the day, I'm probably like... 15-4 in ranked but I still can't sit down and play it game after game.
