Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I got a decent number of splats with the Inkbrush on Port Mackerel by painting for the speed boost to quickly close in behind gun users then swiping like mad at them. It seems to use up ink a lot more quickly than the standard rollers though, but that might just be my imagination.

Love the duels when it comes down to who's paintbrush randomly hits the other.

Not win turf? The amount of area you can ink is amazing, maybe better than aerospray..

Extremely fast and wide range paint splatters + sprinkler + inkstrike. It's like the "I'm going to just ink up the place" weapon.

I don't know some people might be able to do that but my hands will tire after a few rounds using the ink brush. Even Bayonetta QTE haven't trained me to pump buttons so fast.

Some guy was just ramming me with his brush. bruh.

lol

E: oh so it doesn't work like a roller where you wreck someone? wow, expected (it's a brush) but I didn't know you'd just bump into the person, weird.

----

-not on the topic of the brush, but I really want to see that last weapon on the guide. I recall it being similar to some sort of crossbow when I saw the image? Could be siiick.

But I didn't instantly dominate everyone with it, so it's clearly garbage!

The brush is really good for coverage. I'm getting some of my highest base scores ever with it. Just, my finger really can't take it for long...

Not a lot of room for failure in Ranked. I agree we shouldn't write it off entirely until we figure out how to use it strategically. But yeah, if only Ranked gave you room...

To be fair, this game has two modes. And there are roles on a team that don't require combat. But in maps like Skatepark and Mall in ranked, you really can't avoid combat. They are concentrated maps and it's just a reality. This weapon def isn't for those.

So it's prob a situational weapon. We just need time to figure out for what.

Standing on some high point and mashing on the trigger lets you cover a ton of ground with that brush. Its pretty fun.

Having way too much fun w/ the Brush--haven't figured out the best possible application for it, but I love its setup and speed.

WTB ranked without idiots. Holy shit is this frustrating. I really don't mind losing, that's not my problem. But when you see people jumping into enemies on A-, repeatedly that is, it begins to become frustrating. I'm not even going to start on that brush roller. In 60 minutes of playing I haven't seen the team with brushes win once. On maps like the slakepark it's basically 3vs4 or whatever the numbers are.

Just bought the brush and tested it out in the test area. Swinging it is hilarious. Beating up the dummies with it even moreso.

Guys, the Brush is far from trash. You cannot (I repeat, CANNOT) treat it like a roller where it is constantly providing you with maximum ground control at minimal investment. It is a tool for lightning fast support and assassination with a minor in harassment. What you should be doing is the following:

Offense:
- Get the fuck in ASAP and run a distraction game. Abuse your newly found movement speed. Chuck sprinklers in key open locations. Just be the biggest fucking HIT ME PLEASE ever for the opposing team.
- Once you've got someone to take the bait, run (seriously, I cannot understate how good you feel moving and how FAST you are) and generate a big pool of ink to chill in or reorient yourself in.
- When you can confirm that they are after you, just swoop in all Raiden Zandatsu style and end their life.

You are now a true shinobi.

Support
- PAINT EVERYTHING. Seriously, this weapon displaces so much ink over a great area of space without emptying the reserves and I'm not even using anything like the ink savers on this test run. Don't think, just swing and make a few pools while traveling along the little line.
- Did anyone else here know that you can paint walls (LOL I know) by looking at them while moving?
- Fast run & swim almost seem mandatory. Ninja is essential for the real shenanigans though.

Random notes of interest:
- The inkbrush has a tipper. It has a fucking tipper. I'm a Marth main. This is awesome.
- You can hit confirm a bump into someone while rolling with the brush into its max damage (remember tippers) rapid swings.
- There's an interesting thing about the swing's arc where it does more damage in the early parts of its arc from the right.

Mind you I have to get on and prove a lot of this, but I feel like there's a mentality change that I have to get down when using this weapon and typing this all out is helping me get it.

You guys are right, and it's a common thing im seeing in this thread -- it's fun. Yep. The brush is fun. I wouldn't be able to handle it in Ranked, especially something with heavy combat.

But this is a blast in Turf.

Uhhh guys I just slashed through an inkzooka blast with my brush.

...this is a whole another level. If that's something you can consistently do it with the brush it's going to be amazing. Could check what other projectiles it could block.

everyone back to brush.

Should I be ashamed to say that the maps changed and I couldn't stop playing? Even if I said I would before?
Btw saltspray rocks!

I've been on two teams with a brush player that have both won. Basically they stealth the fuck out of everyone and it lets the rest of us keep the two spots on the skate park under control.

Shame I'll only be able to try it tomorrow or maybe the day after. I mean, just listening to the ink-pressions is already making me pumped to try it.

Good night everybody, I may try to get into a GAF match tomorrow and begin adding you all.

I can't believe people aren't experts with the hour old weapon, already. Slackers.

Yeah, I am seriously considering going all in with this thing. God help us all if there are more powerful variants of it coming in the future.

Japan is the worst. Each time play against them, I die.

Why you no let me win Japan?
