Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

My NNID is AzureJay89

Also Crayolan, teach me stuff please. I get the idea but I'm flubbing the execution.

lol

I've just been using stealth basically. Waiting for people to show up in an area then surprising then before they have a chance to react. Also use the speed to escape instead of squid form. More often than not it's more effective and less predictable.

Wait, you actually brush out of trouble instead of squidding away?

Having tons of fun with the brush, however I'm terrible with it.
But, I'm kinda disappointed to see that jumping kills your momentum with it.

Sigh.

I feel frustrated with weapons right now. I just can't settle on one I want to use. I'm thinking of sticking to custom Squelcher. Has good range, and decent fire rate. I just want to get away from using Splattershot Jr. all the time (it's short range can also be problematic for me).

The N-ZAP actually looks like a better Scattershot Jr.? but the special is meh IMO. It has better range. Similar damage and fire rate.

I still use squid out of habit but I think brushing is faster, so I've been trying that. Brushing around people in close quarters is also really good for disorienting them. I've been able to circle around a gun-wielding opponent and then gank them from behind before they could turn around a few times.

Coming into this game late is not fun. Get matched up with level 20 as level 6. They're better at the game and have much better gear. Just lost like 10/12 games.

Trying out the ink brush for the first time.....it seems awful? The roller is better in every way. Unless I'm using it totally wrong.

I haven't used an actual gun in days...all about that roller.

I got that, I was just being dense and didn't understand your analogy at first.

Try the duel squelcher.

GAH

I had like a billion flags... "SO HAWT" x 1,000,000,000 (you get the idea)... And when I was spamming the A button at the end of the match, right before the stage change, I accidentally hit "Play Again" (or whatever the option is), so I wasn't able to get to Judd for my cash bonus. ;_;

They really need to fix that quirk in the system. I would be surprised if it's intentional.

God, games with GAF are exhilarating.

Great matches, everyone. Just had lunch; gonna dive back in.

I don't know why they think it's a good idea to match low level and high level. Most of the matches I've seen, the low levels get rekt hard. It's been said a 1000x already, and yeah level 20 does not = a good player. But a lot of low level people just got the game, and are still adjusting to things. I've played games where level 6 people were better than 20, so it's not always the case. But I think it goes without saying, people that are level 1-9 have played far less time than those that are 15-20.

Sorry to hear about your experience. =/

I can't stop laughing at this
That's hand-drawn? How much time do people put into these things? The lettering is perfect. I just take 10 seconds to whip something together. Can't bring myself to spend more than that.

I drew this the other night, when I did reach Judd in time. :-\

I like how some of you guys expect people to already have complete mastery of a weapon that just came out a few hours ago, lol

Yeah. Although I kind of understand why people are trying to figure out how this is going to work (even if they do get better at it). I'm still not convinced it would work in a lot of situations. Just me though.

Thanks for the Duel Squelchers recommendation guys. It's awesome.

Why would it be hand drawn?

I'm starting to get the feeling the only reason the brush has a sprinkler is to distract people and kill them while they're trying to destroy it.

I do have streaks where I do well, and even top my team, but tonight has just been my team getting destroyed consistently. I actually perform comparably to my teammates, so I guess just bad luck? Had a dude giving the home base about 200 coats with his roller in the last match I played.

Trying to get the hang of the splattershot pro and even with inksaver and ink refill it still eats a ton of ink.

Funny enough, I just got my shit rekt by someone using this gun. I was like, oh awesome, I'm actually doing well with Dual Squelchers. Then this guy kept out poking me with it, and was just destroying my shit.

You'll definitely have bad luck matches. But level isn't that important overall. Especially in terms of gear. The starting gun is really good and lots of people use it even at level 20.

With a little practice you'll get there even if you're level is low and your gear isn't 3 stars.

The 1,400 max that you get from Judd from each map rotation is less than one knockout in Splat Zones.

It's a cool ninja setup, really. Sneak into enemy territory with the brush's speed and mobility in enemy ink. Set up a sprinkler. Hide in a puddle. Wait for someone to come by and disable the sprinkler. And then ZANDATSU — "C'MON!" — "Very good, Raiden!"

I've gotten 1,400 before but didn't realize it's the cap. Nice to know.

Yep. Best to just take a break, back out of the lobby. Then just try to jump back in again, and hope for a good Team. Obviously you yourself can always improve, so it's not wise to put it all off on your teammates. But sometimes you just have really bad teammates (200pt per)...and there isn't anything you can do about that. It can be really frustrating though when you are already in a losing streak rut.
