Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Splatfest feels like something that should be once a week like destiny. No?

I still can't get enough of this game.

I haven't gone back to turf wars since ranked hit.

Must be a fair few people just getting the game today, coming across a lot of level 1-3 players in turf war, means I managed to break 1700 points with Aerospray RG finally. But seriously, fuck the Bubbler!

Have a mighty need for a Judd plush, plz Nintendo

What control scheme are you guys using? I'm not sure if I should learn the motion controls or just stick to the ol' control sticks.

Gyro. Dropped the sensitivity a bit and used the amiibo challenges to get used to them. Now I can't imagine going back to the control stick for aiming.

I'm liking the brush a lot, it's so different to any other weapon yet. You need to forget about confrontations entirely (or be very sneaky and even against rollers it's dangerous if you surprise then from behind). You have to use your sub weapon a lot, manage carefully your special and alternate between both shooting modes depending if you want to blast through enemy ground or cover a big area. So I think the most important perks for this are running speed, sub and main ink consumption, special meter filling and ninja squid. It's a weapon that favors being sneaky and constantly on the move.

I'm doing great with it in Turf War, but I don't think it will work well in ranked.

I've pushed the analog sticks as far as I could go with sensitivity at its lowest. I think -5?

Time to switch to gyro now that I've got rest of game down better and consume that sweet sweet accurate aiming

Looks like the first Splatfest will be in June 13th: https://twitter.com/SplatoonJP/status/607004099972722688

has someone decoded the inkling's language

the shirts should be rice and bread in Japanese

It's really sad that probably in like every third game someone disconnects. They just might end the match there. What's the point in continuing after that.

Ok, got to play quite a bit today but just now I got disconnected in the middle of a match about six times in a row. I'm not picking up this shit again until Nintendo does something, I'm fuckin' pissed.

P.S. I've tried everything on my end, and yes I'm on a wired connection.

I haven't get a chance to try the ink brush yet(working today), but it sounds like it's being judged pretty harshly - as a crappy weapon - before people had the chance to find the proper play-style(or mode, as more are on the way).

It reminds me of the roller-rollercoaster. First it was "too OP" based on the couple test-fire sessions. Then once people got a bit more experienced with the final game, they considered it "garbage." Now, and more accurately, it's simply a fearsome weapon in the right hands.

So far, based on early impressions, the brush seems perfect for 'disruption play'. Sounds adept at easily getting behind enemy lines, keeping them annoyed and occupied while your teammates cover more turf or claim zones. Even its sub and special(sprinkler & ink strike I heard) caters to disruption, while you are able to stay out of conflict.

It would take really skilled brush-play to consistently get over a 1000 pts in turt war, but it could be one of those weapons that leads your team to victory time and time again(perfect for ranked!), at the expense of sacrificing your own points(only an issue for turf wars) since you'd play as mostly a decoy.

Has anyone yet found success with this weapon, or see themselves excelling at it in the near future?

I swear I'm like the only guy online that paints walls.

I mean, no it doesn't seem to give as much points as the ground but it does give points. :D

Just beat the game last night. I'll toss my name into the hat about how awesome it was. One my favorite boss fights ever. Probably one of the most memorable fights in a Nintendo game. I'll put it up there with fighting Bowser the first time in Mario 64.

Also not sure if it's been discussed, but the credits were amazing too. Felt very...."Pixar-like"

I was banned right before Splatoon's release, missed the build-up of Splatoon community :(

Anyway, I added my name to the excel sheet on the front page.

And ink brush ain't worth the hype, anything it can do, roller does it better, just a little slower.

Ink brush is great fun, doing well with it! Definitely needs some getting used to a first but it works well if you know how to handle it. Hope they can add more stronger hitting melee weapons in the future like maybe a slower but longer version of it.
