Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Yeah, my experience with lag and DC has been fairly minimal save for a couple moments of DC/Lag that was hitting everyone at once. I've prob put 60+ hours into this (im really disgusted in myelf!).

Like I said though, I have a friend that is local and has put in similar hours, and he gets a lot more DC/lag. I've played games with Japanese players, but haven't had any matches with them that caused lag.

Matchmaking just seems wildly inconsistent from each player to the next.

That does appear to be the case; I have coworkers in Midwest USA who have frequent lag and DCs, but local friends who have had better luck. I am sure Nintendo will be upgrading their infrastructure in the coming months, especially ahead of the major update in August. Overall though, I am very happy with how this turned out with their first foray into online shooters.

GGs everyone.

Inkbrush is so fun, even though I can't kill lol.

That Walleye Warehouse match we were in (2 hours earlier) was really nice.

Greg is Saint Gregory on GAF.
Yeah it was, I would've stayed with u but I had dropped down to B+ at that point and didn't want to stay in a room A's, had to make sure that I got back to A-, and congrats on reaching A I know you were stuck A- as well

Aerospray is kind of fun. Liking the mines, even if I can't really get people to step on them.

Just keep trying with them, I get some unexpected kills sometimes.

I wish I could have an Aerospray with the Seeker and Inkstrike instead of having to choose one or the other

Went from C 30 to B 38 in one sitting. I am pleased.

I did more or less the same thing today but I think one could easily cheese into higher ranks by playing in the same lobby all the time. When you start as a C, you get in a lobby with mostly C+/- players. When you level up, the majority will still be in C+/- regions and the matchmaking will still consider this a C lobby.

So in the end I was B and everybody else was around C... I pretty much dominated in every match, which I guess wouldn't be the case in a B player lobby.

I actually left as well cause I was scared of the chance of the game matching me against you and then possibly lose 12 points lol. And if I won, that wouldn't help you.

You should stay in high ranked rooms, they can give you lots of points easily.

On the topic of lag, I have put 40 hours in and had delayed ink maybe 10 times. Each time it lasted 5 seconds. So I just assumed it was s hiccup on my connection. It has been an extremely solid online experience thus far.

For me I tend to notice it happen whenever someone disconnects. Today it happened once really bad and it turned out three people on the other team dc'd

Lmao we gotta look out for eachother

I was literally at 70 points in B+, just dropped down to B+, didn't matter if I got +12 or 10 so I just took the easy way out,

Well Squids and Squidettes, I am off to sleep and dream of competent teammates in Ranked Battles before I wake up and realise there ain't any.

If you'd like, feel free to add on NNID: MouldyK so I can invade your games when i'm not going down to C- again.

Stay Fresh!

I'd love if someday we get custom color palettes as options to load into a map. Just have it lock a quadrant on a color wheel after the first color for the set is selected to make you choose a color to contrast it so the battle is readable.

Still holding out hope for a Black vs Purple and a Silver vs Gold and especially for neon glow stick splatter fights.

Brilliant!

But seriously I've seen too many players treat Splat Zones like Turf Wars resulting in a complete knockout after having a massive lead.

We've gone from having an 82 point lead to getting knocked out cause two players kept hiding at the spawn point and covering the walls........
This happened to me where two times in the match we had control and a significant lead but once we claimed and covered the entire area with ink my entire team would disperse all over the map. I'd be the only one left guarding the turf and I'd get overrun by four players sneaking in meanwhile all of my other teammates were nowhere around. This happened twice in the match and we lost.

For what it's worth, my girlfriend and I have sunk a combined 40 hours into this game thusfar (I am disgusted, haha), and we have had a total of five disconnects. I could not be more impressed with the netcode of this game, and I am routinely playing five or more Japanese players at a given time. I am in Delaware with 50 mbps internet.

EDIT: New page, (50 ppp scrub here! Add me to your friendslists NNID: jondgc)
Only 40? :P

I use Guns onlly on Port and I always dominate. Rollers def can benefit from the levels lay out, but something like Aero or long range weapons can easily out pole rollers. Not to mention sniper rifles galore!

Port is tailor made for chargers. It's a sniper alley. Going up against Sendou's charger there is ridiculous.
Throw a bomb, move up, throw a bomb, move up. Chargers are pretty easy to keep at bay while you push forward. They also can only cover one pathway at a time so you can keep switching lanes and tossing bombs until you've made it to the other side and then they're really in trouble. Even if you don't have bombs you can switch lanes and push up fairly easily.

Final Boss Run was a pain for me.

Felt too long for a boss that lacked a change of attack from the beginning to end.

Environment looked cool. But the background trippy club neon was too much of a hindrance at times seeing the avalanche of stuff coming at you.

You got the right idea with pushing forward but Port is such a Charger heaven. You just can't be in a lane where a Charger is making a shot. That's the problem. Even if you switch lanes it's rarely enough. Not sure what you're thinking with throwing bombs tbh. The thing is that you should be going for unpredictable movement if you want to best a Charger but it's not such an easy thing to do in that map.
