Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Anyone figured out what exactly does Spyke give you when you order someone's gear? Similarly upgraded versions just random subs?

Damn, Port Mackerel and skatepark as ranked? Those will be some long games.

I can't describe how I feel going against someone with an Aerospray or a .52/.98 GAL. They ruin me. Are their any strategies against them?
I messed up on spelling. I'm using a Splattershot Jr.

And there we go, rank down. The brush has absolutely no place in ranked. Its ability to run through ink and ink up a zone the fastest out of any weapon is nice but the fact that it has zero offensive threat especially in ranked just puts a burden on your team so big they usually can't overcome it. Too bad.

Depends on the map but I could see it working pretty nicely in something like Skatepark. Make attempts at flanking the enemy.

get moar range
or, I dunno, bubble up? I think these weapons are kind of designed to counter the aerospray and other short range splattershots
e: I may be reading this wrong

That person's just not good

your advantage is range and accuracy. use it

/edit wrong way around. you should be flankying. you demolish in close range against everything but the aero.

Unless they are really good, it should be the other way around. You're supposed to kill them before they get close.

EDIT: Ah, I see. Splattershot jr. vs them? Never mind then.

You lack range against .52 and .98. Try to flank them instead. Against Aerospray you should have an edge. Just get better at aiming I guess?

I don't know why, but I absolutely love Callie's and Marie's bits every time you start up the game. I was a bit annoyed first but now I can't get enough at the "get fresh!" parts.

Can't for the life of me finish a game, 6 out of 7 or so games I've been booted out because of bad connection. I'm guessing my connection is suddenly fucked up.

The brush is the worst thing to happen to ranked in my opinion, I haven't won a single game with a brush on my team they are the reason I didn't finally make A rank today

Oh my god

I have a pair. They're fine, not my favorite. I don't main ninja squid since it's pointless for chargers.

Great for rollers though. Well I don't know if great is the right word but it's fun.

Regarding bad brushes: obviously there's plenty to go around since the weapon is still fresh. After it's not new anymore only those who had success with it remain. It's a very good weapon but requires more skill than other rollers IMO.

Just to chime in, I took a while to find what I thought was "my" best weapon. Lack of range, lack of power, squids move too fast for me to use a charge rifle and rollers can be pretty limited if your opponent knows what its doing.

For me the 52 Gal is amazing. 2-3 hit kills, great rate of fire, the seekers are great and you dont need to refill that fast unlike the 96 gal.

By far the most effective weapon for me, Im consistently in the 900/1000 points range, including a 21/6 k/d ratio on one ranked game

I love how those shoes look btw. Best looking in the game.
Damn, and three star, too? Stealth jump? I'm watching my shop for those!

This is ridiculous.
Nintendo, regional matchmaking please.
Unless your region is "Mars", whatever problems you have aren't related to location on the Earth's surface. ;)

Ok, just checked. I am at 40:38 with time spent on this game, and none of that idle. It's only been a week!

Throw a bomb, move up, throw a bomb, move up. Chargers are pretty easy to keep at bay while you push forward. They also can only cover one pathway at a time so you can keep switching lanes and tossing bombs until you've made it to the other side and then they're really in trouble. Even if you don't have bombs you can switch lanes and push up fairly easily.

Better advice then what I gave.

Last night I got a ton of connection errors for some reason. never had that problem before.

been fine today though.

did run into an enemy Japanese player that kept running through our ink like it was nothing. very frustrating.

Ink coverage and even K/D can be misleading. Chargers are typically great suppressors, but their coverage is moderate to mediocre, and until you get really good your kills are relatively low. Your role is typically a one-man base, since you can do a lot without moving much.

Welp - Splatoon wants me to take a break. Not recognizing my Wi-Fi now. I'll restart the router and see if it works.

This is just... this is just a roadblock, this won't stop me.

Yes, they're the reason
I mean they were the bottom of the team every time I played with one today and most of the time had 0 kills, and there was point where whenever there was a brush on a team they lost and I'm talking about different players, people really shouldn't bring a weapon they obviously don't know how to use to high ranked matches

Being paired with two chargers on ranked port who can't do their job of sniping the Dynamo charger (or splatting almost anyone for that matter) is infuriating on unmeasurable levels.

Aerospray is kind of fun. Liking the mines, even if I can't really get people to step on them.
Best use for mines is in tandem with ninja squid. Make sure there's a path behind you and push forward, if someone gives chase, squid away and put the mine around the corner and dive again. Even if it doesn't kill them, you'll shoot them down in a hit.

Also sneak into enemy territory and place them in frequently traversed / tight areas.

It's interesting because hasn't Nintendo gone with both regional and worldwide options for most of their bigger online games like this in the past? I know it's been that way with Mario Kart at least. It feels like they weren't sure quite what the player population would be like at launch (hence keeping ranked mode locked to start, too) so they just threw everyone together to make sure rooms would at least get filled.

I wonder if they'd consider adding a regional option, or at least regional room-preference, in a later update once there's enough of a player-base in each territory. Getting ghost-killed by Japanese charge rifles and rollers has been a bit annoying.

i had the biggest holy shit moment that match when blue and ryam double charged me. jsut saw two lasers home in on me and i was like NOPE *SPLAT*
