Agreed. Really wish Turf War was ranked. It's no less competitive than Splat Zones, honestly. But it's hard to go back to when there's no real progression (and when you make significantly less points). Sucks because I think its so, so much more well designed of a mode.

The first thing I usually do as soon as a round starts is use the brush's regular rolling to quickly make my way to a pivotal center point where I try to get in as many swipes as possible. From that point it's fairly safe to fall back on territory to recharge, drop a sprinkler and then you should predominantly cover ink by using swipes rather than regular rolls, where you can drop down regularly for quick recharges. The regular rolling is best to make quick movement into covered territory or for retreats when squidding isn't possible (one of the Inkbrush's main advantages is that you're never in a position to have a disadvantage when being chased), but mainly you'll want to move by squidding.

I'll try to get to the middle point faster. I do use the slash to paint areas but you move so slow and I doesn't paint beneath you it's weird. I guess I need to get the rhythm of rolling, splashing and recharging better.

There's no thrill quite like landing on the corpse of your teammate surrounded by three opponents and taking them all out anyway. Some people need to learn how to aim lol.
 
Got to level 20 today, but it was agonizing getting there. Sick of getting annihilated in ranked all the time, but kept playing it because it is the fastest way to earn EXP. My team was making me miserable. lol
 
Man fuck Dynamo Rollers. You always think you can fuck them up badly on their windup only to get rocked by some combination of human error and LOLrollers.
 
I've found that pacing yourself can help get you to 1000. Like, by 2:45 I always want to have around 100, by 2:00 I should have at least 300, by 1:00 I should have at least 600. And then I push as hard as I can in the last minute and try to get 900-1000 without the bonus. I'm always looking at the clock and seeing what 'mark' I should get to. That's my goals anyways, I usually get 1100-1200 with the bonus and only my very best games are 1000 without.
 
Man I'm so hot and cold with the Kelp Charger. One game I'm 10-0 or 12-2... and the next I'm lucky if I can hit someone standing still. At least I'm getting better...ish?
 
Holy bananas. Just went on the most ridiculous tear through Ranked Mode. I'm not really a great Ranked player (I started at low-level C) but managed to win something like 15 in a row to get to mid B- range. Yeesh, Dual Squelcher is so good on ranked Port Mackerel, it's unfair.

One round, we were down 100-89 on Port Mackerel. It had been a back-and-forth defensive game. We had our own base painted and there were only 20-30 seconds on the clock. Me and an ally marched up the side hallway, tore through 2 players in the way, and proceeded to paint their base, finishing with 1 second on the clock. Forced overtime and won in 12 seconds.

Literally put my gamepad down and jumped up and down with glee in my living room. This game is so hype.
 
I still don't know exactly how the scoring works in ranked. Do you get a penalty if you have captured the zones and then get them taken from you?

The final score doesn't include the penalty, right?

I still have no idea how you recharge so fast DaBoss. My chargers are never that fast. :P

I swear, if I didn't know any better I would have assumed there is a perk that spawns a seeker on death by the amount of times I've killed someone and then just exploded to a seeker I never saw/heard. Its like maaaagic.
 
I'm not into online gaming. This game looks really fun, though. And I'd like to see more of it.

Are there any good youtube channels out there with good players?
