For the episodic stuff I'm inclined to wait until the series wrap up; don't the deals usually get better at that point?
Life is strange has you can buy episode 1 for cheap (to try out) then 2-onwards as two separate purchases.
Or you can buy 1-onwards which is cheaper than 2-onwards + 1

I just want an Earth Defence Force discount for once.

It was on sale for cheap some sales ago, and I think it was in a bundle too.

I wonder if there'll be any sort of discount for the old Star Wars and Star Trek games that were added to Steam recently. I guess I'll find out in a few hours.

I am wanting episodic games!

GoT, Life is Strange etc... Give em too meeee.

Also wouldn't mind a racing game for the PC, something new but casual(ish) that I can play with the controller?

Any word on any indie sales happening yet? I mostly use my PC for indies.

No title or part of the industry, is safe from the Steam sales.

Personally, this is going to be a pretty light year for me. I spent £200~ on god damn amiibo's recently. I can't really afford to buy that much, probably prune my wishlist down a bit.

I wonder if they will do something about the 1 week lock on selling the Summer Cards. Also I pray for Saturday to be a meh day at least for me ( I'm out all day so I won't be able to do shit).

Just give me Shovel Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest 50% and I'm happy.

Might grab Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Wasteland 2 with a good discount as well.

Probably will be getting Neptunia Re;Birth1, Dead State, Dying Light and Invisible, Inc.

And shelved all of the above immediately due to The Witcher 3.

Cards never have a lock..

Cards purchased from the market cannot be relisted or traded for a week. This cooldown carries over to items earned from a badge crafted using said cards, so unless Valve has changed something, if someone buys a bunch of cheap cards to craft a badge, the resulting sale card, and of course the background and emoticon, will not be marketable/tradeable for a week (well, technically oh-so-slightly less than a week).

Isn't it friday?

It's my nth sale, last few had been disappointing, since I already owned most of them, and Amazon usually price matched or beaten Steam.

Its the weekend here. Islamic State.

Think this one will be alright, its the first one for me with Malaysian prices which hopefully means super cheap games (compared to the old US prices).

Like Pillars of Eternity is US$45 on GOG... on Steam its RM75 which is about $21 full price.

Nearly forgot the SEA pricing, BUY EVERYTHING, NEW BLOOD!

That's what we all say. Good luck sticking to that!

I actually haven't bought anything during a Steam sale since the one in summer of 2013. :p

I'm planning to buy at least a couple games during this one though since I'm building a new pc within the next week or so.

Also I just realized that counting both summer and winter sales this sale will be my 10th. That's crazy.

Hey another SEA steam user. :)

A nice little tip: only buy games that you want to play immediately right after you bought it. Do not buy games just because the 99% discounted price and you will play it "later". You will accumulate massive backlog. The prices will keep getting lower, and those small purchases will add up.

This little tip help me tremendously on the previous steam sale and this recent GOG sale. I end up buying nothing because I don't want to play those games immediately.

You think the publishers always match past sales prices or lower? Oh my sweet summer child...

Genesis once said : it's tonight, tonight tonight... oh oh

I got some money in my pocket, about ready to burn
I don't remember where I got it, I gotta get it to you

You keep telling me I've got everything, you say I've got everything I want
You keep telling me you're gonna help me, you're gonna help me, but you don't

It is a good tip.

Personally, spending $50 during a big sale, getting 10 games or whatever, and only really digging into one is worth it for me because I like to try different things. I mean, one aaa new release is $70-$80 where I live, so spending less than that on a steam sale isn't a big deal.

So my tip would be: have a gaming budget and stick to it. Keep a wishlist* and when the prices are super low, take some chances. And don't feel pressured to play everything in your backlog.

*why the fuck doesn't sony have a wishlist feature? Does Nintendo or Xbox?

Hi! These SEA prices are fantastic. Yes they are still 'expensive' compared to other things around here, but its a price drop compared to US prices.

Yeah great tip. The past few years I've always limited myself to one or two games at the most, they always go on sale again anyways. Still got around ninety games... I have no idea how.... I have been on steam from the very start though.

I don't know about these sales anymore man. Past like Ori and maybe something else I think I need to chill out. I have a backlog that is getting too big.

I thought summer would give me more time to clear my backlog, instead I somehow have less time than during the normal academic year. I love my gf and I'm taking summer courses to earn some extra credits, but my time is now more accounted for.

Hoping for some good sales on jrpgs and at least 5% off on gta5. That's all I need to pull the trigger. Looking for a bunch of co-op discounts. Will grab D4 on the last day if I haven't burned through the $42 in my steam wallet and the roughly $70 of my budget.
