Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I haven't heard much about about Grey Goo, it looks pretty good from the store page, anyone have any kind words to say about it?

It's a really well made game, full production budget and everything. For whatever reason when it came out it just floundered and didn't get much press or hype at all, and player numbers weren't great. There was also a lot of people complaining about the price which I thought was crappy because it was a full price production, three unique races with unique campaigns and full CG cutscenes and all you'd expect from say a Blizzard RTS that cost full price as well. Hopefully at this price more people are willing to jump in and give it a shot.

Petroglyph have been trying to keep it relevant with some updates, the newest one added a spectator mode and some fixes as well as a new mini campaign that was free for anyone who had bought it previously.

I just bought enslaved for 5$ . Not sure about this game because i never played it before. But the reviews and trailers looks nice

Cool, thanks for the info. I've never heard anything about it, honestly, just caught my eye while I was browsing the sale. Guess I'll give it a go, have been looking for a decent RTS to play.

No it isn't. Seriously. TNO is the best FPS in years,

Tno is fun but it is a technical mess. No AA unless you use a console command. Af is locked also. ID tech 5 engine is a train wreck. The game is a lot of fun though but It can be a very ugly game at times. I would still say pick it up,just finished it myself last month.

The game itself is kind of crap, but the cutscenes, motion capture, and voice acting are well done. Game is very simplistic and repetitive, though.

OK now I have to get witcher 2 now. Really have no excuse. Not sure if Witcher 1 is worth getting. I really don't have as much time for games these days so I'd rather just play the best

I believe Witcher 2 can recap on what happened in the first. I couldn't play through the first. Too much running along the boring country side. Witcher two improved on pretty much everything.

The first Witcher game has one of the worst combat systems I've ever seen, if that helps you save $1.49 and hours of your life.

I actually thought it was really fun. Timing based + stances is not something you see very often, if ever. It may not have been great, but it's a more interesting system than all of the other games.

Man, that first Witcher game is pretty fucking good if you can get into it. It's not for everyone, but it's worth trying.

I'm one of those freaks who actually liked the first game, and in a lot of ways it's better than the second. The story is more engaging and it features all the companions you'll encounter in the sequels.

At least play it for a few hours, and if you really don't like it you can bail.

I think the name of the game really hurts it. Sounds so unappealing.

Which IP do you like the most? If all equally, I think Marvel is the best one, but Batman 3 is also really good.

I asked earlier, but how the open world aspect in Batman 3 (not that I expecting anything so deep)?

I probably still just stick with Lego Worlds in the end, but them fan service.

I tried, believe me, but, I dunno, maybe it's that I've read the books that makes the game harder to get into? Like, Witchers are superhuman, and all his life Geralt is never even scratched by a human opponent (
with one nearly-fatal exception but that was a very extenuating circumstance
), yet here I am, matching pace with some tutorial mooks who can slaughter me with ease. I dunno, given the lore and the sheer speed and strength of Witchers, I wish CDPR had contracted Platinum to handle the combat.

Which is more fun of an RPG to progress through, Witcher 2 or Skyrim?

Depends. Witcher 2 if you're looking for a good story. Personally, I think I enjoyed Witcher 2 much more than Skyrim. BUT. The amount of time I've sunk into Skyrim is eons higher than Witcher. With mods, exploring, and becoming a god, it becomes a good timesink.

I already have Metro 2033 and enjoyed it, is Last Light/Redux worth it? What is Redux (just a remaster?).

Redux is 2033 redone in the Last Light engine. Not sure was Last Light Redux is other than a complete edition? (Already having all the Last Light DLC, I was never clear on why I'd want to buy Redux.)

Yeah, the combat is definitely the main thing that you need to click with, but once you make it over that mountain there is a very special game. Beneath all the jank and sex cards.

Would you guys recommend crysis collection if I played them(1&2) on PS3? I'm sure the difference is big, but enough to go another round?

anyone else not getting card drops from the clicker game

where are my cards volvo

where are my cards

I have the same issue, no cards today and i got 3 yesterday. On the same note, I'm not getting cards from buying games and stuff. Does anyone know if something is going on or this are just isolated things?

Any criticisms of Valkyria Chronicles? I've never really played SRPG's and this always seemed a great place to start.

Is xbox controller better then keyboard and mouse?

I've only played it on PS3, but...

Pros:
  • The story
  • The characters
  • The watercolor art style
  • The music
  • The gameplay
Cons:
  • It's "anime"
