Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

This sales are killing me. It's my first foray into pc gaming, and theres so many games I want to buy. D;

Best way to go about it when it feels overwhelming is to limit yourself somehow.

Only top five games you want.
Only games you will play sometime this year.
Only older titles you missed out on that are cheaper, and thus you can get more of them vs newer titles.
One big game you really want to play right away, then just what might be nice to round it out to your budget.
One game for yourself, one game for a friend as a gift.

Plenty of other ways, but those are the most common suggestion. The best piece of advice I've always found is to always remember one key aspect of Steam Sales; There will be another Steam Sale in six months and almost every deal will be repeated or bettered.

I haven't been playing the Monster game (and do not plan to do so) but I have 7 cards from what I have purchased so far. Apparently I can turn each of these cards into 20 gems. Is that the best route to go? I'm a complete n00b in regards to Steam, I'm getting a gaming PC soon so this is my first time using Steam.

all i see are the card unlocks i have for slender and saints row iv.

what are they even for anyways?

Go to your badges, Monster Summer Sale should be at the very top. Just click it and like with all other games with Trading Cards it'll show you what you have, what you need, and which of your friends have what you need.

I'd recommend crafting the badge. All you can do with the Gems now is craft booster packs, and those depending on the game, range from 600-1,200 gems.

I just bought Wolfenstein: ToB, and considering the download size I really, really hope that it works better on my AMD system than TNO did last year.

D:. I suppose that's true, but at that point your SteamLeft would be decades lel.

Are you using Chrome? Chrome works fine for me, but having that game in there sucks up about 21% of my memory.

Yup, chrome. I just get redirect loops, and thats only if it even joins the game at all.

Edit: Works in Firefox when I disable all my privacy extensions. Horay!

Edit Edit: And I crashed Firefox. LMAO. Maybe I should add a delay to the macro.

It's easy to become overwhelmed which so many games. I've heard of a winter sale, so I can leave some for that sale. I'm going to try my initial plan, which was to complete the list(8 games) that I was going originally going to buy. Thanks!

Was out when the flashes changed.

Lethal League for $4.75? Don't mind if I do. *YOINK*

Anyone getting horrible download speeds? For the past hour I thought it was just my net being jacked up, but it's just steam. Steam is downloading crazy slow. Everything else is fine.

Bought CS:GO, played it for 10 minutes, refunded it. Definitely not my type of game...

It's not like most other shooters. For one it has a set spray pattern for all guns. Fire the guns full-auto. Move to the right. Fire again. See the pattern stay the same.

Whereas in Quake/UT of old you had to lead targets if they weren't hit-scan. Same for CoD in a way (though CoD is completely hitscan) and Battlefield (which has ballistic travel). This takes some adjusting.

If anything, what pisses me off is the amount of times I've been two or three rooms away from someone and they just somehow pin-point nail me in two milliseconds when I can't even see nor hear them.

Still a decent game if you stick with nothing but bots, like me. Only reason I'm playing online is to get the competitive restriction lifted again.

The things I want most now are the Endless games, PoE, Divinity, Far Cry 4, and the Resident Evil games. I'm hoping st least half of those get really good discounts.

I just bought enslaved for 5$ . Not sure about this game because i never played it before. But the reviews and trailers looks nice
Check the steam forums. It has some issues, like the ingame resolution settings are locked to 720p regardless of what res you select.

It takes a bit of work, but I recommend you check it out to get the best experience.

Is it actual horror, or is it just filled annoying cheap jump scares?

It's neither really. Has a few jump scares but overall I wouldn't say it's very scary. Does have some great environments and atmosphere at times though. It's more in the RE4 mold of having some gross and sometimes creepy stuff but largely not being very scary.

Halp! I kinda added TS 2015 and all the DLC to my cart just to see the ridiculous amount of cards it would say I'd get(spoiler 215 cards). Now I can't remove them all. There's no empty cart and when I try to remove an item it says "Sorry, we couldn't remove your item". I don't wanna have to spend $2,600 to clear my cart D:.

i hate steam sales.Every damn sale i put 50+ things in my wishlist and then try and decide what to buy. between day 1&2 ive already bought 17 games to add to the 150+ game backlog #MasterRaceProblems

Any 7 days to die impressions here? I love survival but haven't played any types of that game in ages and ages.

Two of us own it and don't really like it.

It's not your ordinary survival. It's a horror/survival sandbox nightmare. Playing online with others shit, playing without them is boring. Crafting is bad, animations are poor, even for an indie. They didn't even put time into the death animation - you literally just scream, and it's over and reset. I didn't enjoy it at all. I tried to. I put in a fair few hours in both modes.

For any Rocksmith 2014 buyers if you want custom songs in your game you have to buy Cherub Rock by the Smashing Pumpkins. Google the trick :)

I'm really torn over Sunless Sea. It totally seems like my type of game, (story driven rogue like, with FTL elements), but the one negative buyer review has me second guessing it. Does the story really play out the same way every time? I don't know if that's really something I want out of something so text heavy. Bah...I've only bought This War of Mine so far, so I guess I can probably afford it.

I really want Cities, but I also really want a bigger discount. I don't think I'll get that this round of Steam Sale. :(
It's a daily, so no. It's also super special mega awesome and could buy it at full price without regrets. So don't let anything hold you back and buy it now. Do it for Jesus.

No. The story is pretty free form so I don't know even how it could play out the same every time. It doesn't have enough of a concrete plot for that criticism to make sense.
