Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I'm really torn over Sunless Sea. It totally seems like my type of game, (story driven rogue like, with FTL elements), but the one negative buyer review has me second guessing it. Does the story really play out the same way every time? I don't know if that's really something I want out of something so text heavy. Bah...I've only bought This War of Mine so far, so I guess I can probably afford it.

Never ever listen to user reviews. Ask here, look at youtube reviews, read published reviews, but never listen to user reviews.

Steam user reviews is the worst idea Valve has had ever. And that includes paid mods.

By the way, just to be sure, if a game has been featured in a Daily, there's absolutely no way it's going to be cheaper in the remainder of the sale?

whats up with the CS:GO price, it was 50% before the daily deal??

It's never going to go below -50% off anymore to combat hackers and alternate accounts. It's the ONE title you can be sure Valve will never deep discount.

Tempting, but I can wait for a better deal on this, although I know it won't be during this sale.

I think its the lowest its going to get.

Its a daily.

I wanted to get it, but I'm short. I have put *checks steam* as of currently 733 hours in borderlands 2. I like guns loot and bad jokes apparently.

Anyone here have any experience with Uplay? I played Valiant Hearts(requires Uplay) yesterday and it ran fine, but when I tried to play it today it suffered from major slowdown(unplayable basically) and I have no idea why. Anyone know what the solution could be? I'm having the same kind of problem with Child of Light but I think that's because my laptop can barely handle it.

So far I have just bought Valkyria and Eden*. I've been limiting myself to one game per day and I think I'll mainly just sticking to visual novels and anime related games.

I was on the point of buying CS:GO, but now I have my eyes on a certain Valve Complete Pack. For €23,24 it sounds like a good deal. I already had my eyes on CS:GO, The Orange Box and Portal 2 to begin with, which would cost me around €17, so I think I might be better off adding €6 for all the extras, right? I think I'll wait a while to see if it gets a Flash or Daily (though I hardly think it'll get more than 75% off with all those games), but still, no rush.

The sales are pretty great but since I own everything that's on the dailies and flash it isn't much. I missed the Monstrum so that's a bummer. The only thing I'm really hoping for is Subnautica and TES: Oblivion (own the disc version).

I want to play a game with controller, but can't decide. I've pretty much finished Jet Set Radio and kind of want a similar experience. I tried Cloudbuilt, but it sucks trying to shoot enemies with the controller.

I hate wanting to play something, having tons to play, but not being able to commit and play a game. Now I want to play Twisted Metal 2...

Yeah, Valve Complete Pack is an insane deal.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Definitely looks like it. I'm trying to see if there's a kind of catch, but apparently not, haha. No chance this is going to hit Daily or Flash, right? Can't see it becoming any cheaper with all that content. I'm longing to play some Counter-Strike in over 7 years, I think I'll bite...

Yeah, I've been keeping my eyes on the pack since day 1.
I wonder if it'll ever hit daily of flash deal.

Tomb Raider pack is also tempting.
Already have a couple of them but I'm interested in the isometric co-op games.

I can honestly say I don't care about sales anymore. I have near 400 games, am pretty picky, and I am also more hyped for good humble bundles at this point. A huge backlog has contributed to this. Don't get me wrong I have loads of items on my wishlist but nothing really seem NOW to me anymore. GTA5 and Far Cry 4 I do really want but they can wait too while I finish up other things. I think this is a good thing.

Subnautica is definitely not getting a bigger discount this sale
Subnautica is a game that is still very much in development, and we don't need to bring in a large influx of players right now. When the sale price is lowered by a large margin, it tends to attract a group of people who are less willing and dedicated to giving the game a real chance.
We just want to avoid any perception that the game itself is of lesser value then it actually is due to a really cheap price tag, and if that means that we lose sales during this Steam sale, then so be it.

I don't know, I feel like i can generally find one solid review on the front of every store page that sounds like the player not only knows what they're talking about, but references enough other games that i know we're on the same page.

Most are terrible, sure, but I only need one or two solid reviews to decide.

Going to try The Evil Within's demo and that'll give me an idea if I want to purchase it or not. Disappointed Shadows of Mordor is still too high so I'll wait until it is super cheap.
