I never had a problem with the port on Day 1 it was the actual game that was garbage.

Great game imo and the performance was not too bad for me. Did manage to cap at 30 fps with pretty much max setting and no drops on a GTX 670. It's just the price on Steam is really not that great. It's been around the $5 area a few times iirc.

I found the first one to be boring by comparison whereas I really liked Borderlands 2. Might do the same thing to you. Give the first one another chance and if you're not enjoying it that much (which I expect), try out the second one. It's a lot better in my opinion. The Pre-Sequel is basically what, for example, Arkham Origins was to Arkham City. A good but rather uninspired sequel to a great game that's only worth it if you really liked its predecessor.

At any rate, I don't think you should "waste" the $18 or more (€16,49 here) on a game that's clearly going to collect virtual dust. You might want to hold on to it for the remainder of this summer sale.

Out There Somewhere is twenty one Canadian cents and it's pretty great based off of the half an hour I've played so far. Heavy leanings towards Cave Story, huge sprawling inter-connected environments, NPCs to interact with, only instead of having a weapon you've got a teleportation gun. It's kinda like Cave Story mashed up with Portal, with 8bit NES Ninja Gaiden-style cinematics. I bought it as part of a bundle of 4 indie games for less than 1$.

Things you can try.

Lower graphic settings.
Ensure that the resolution of the game fits the resolution being output to your monitor. Weirdly the game sometimes tries to display something video cards don't want to work at.
Turn off Tessalation in the game itself.
If you have a NVIDIA card, try going into the NIVIDA options and turning on V-Synch and setting it to Adaptive.
Enable V-sync and Triple

One, or a combination of them, should work.

Nah. It largely consists of multiplayer skins, weapons and maps, and the multiplayer is not very active these days. There's also a couple of single-player outfits for Lara but they are pretty meh, and a new tomb that can be completed in 5 minutes.

As it turns out, the title of this thread isn't kidding around.

I'm two for two in refunds so far. Chucked out The Witcher yesterday, chucked out Tomb Raider 2013 today. An hour and a half apiece was in fact exactly as long as I needed to conclude the frustrations outweighed the fun to the point that I was unlikely to finish either game. Curiosity is satisfied.

No time on my calendar for jittery cameras, mouse/keyboard-mashing, and grisly QTEs. Back to Splatoon.

It's a pretty basic city simulator in terms of gameplay as the game is not that difficult on normal and most of the gameplay seems to boil down to checking demand and supply and putting down the infrastructure you need. Once you can satisfied your cims needs the game doesn't really stress the player more.

However it is a pretty powerful tool to build some beautiful cities if you're the type that likes to tinker and do that sort of thing. The curved roads really make a difference to making realistic looking cities, and there's a whole bunch of different highways and stacks of mods.

The first hour or so is pretty scripted IIRC and you don't have many abilities. It definetly gets better, though a lot of the side quests are a little bland. As long as you stick to the meatier quests I thought the game was good (the DLCs offer a nice change of pace too and one can be accessed really early).

It does stay pretty easy, though mainly because you can make your character an absurd death god.

If you've ever wondered why traffic sucks somewhere, play Cities: Skylines and become enlightened. The game itself is fantastic, and will only get better as time goes on.

You will be doing the same thing at hour 3 as you do in hour 40. The dialogue is verbose, the dungeons are identical chunks mixed up in different linear patterns, and the combat remains the same all the way to the end.

Going to try The Evil Within's demo and that'll give me an idea if I want to purchase it or not. Disappointed Shadows of Mordor is still too high so I'll wait until it is super cheap.

The demo covers the worst of the game, I think. Not a good metric.

play for 5-10 more years, you'll get decent and the game becomes the best fps of all time. or return it

Kind of? The combat really opens up after the first few hours as you gain levels and different types of weapons-- there are lots of builds you can experiment with and you can make pretty much anything work. The combat is a lot of fun, really puts all other action RPGs to shame.

The quests outside the first few hours tend to get more interesting as well. Some of the larger quests have some interesting choices. There's a ton of lore in this game, and generally I've found the sidequests to be more interesting than in similar games.

Quality-wise, the game's relatively bug-free. The Dead Kel DLC has some bugs where some side quests you complete don't get moved out of your quest log, but that's kinda minor.

Also it's got a ton of variety in stealth kill animations. Like, every enemy type has multiple ways to be murdered, and it's well worth the effort to sneak up on gnomes (not the early game ones, they're nice-- some you meet later are real dicks though and have it coming).

Also, there's seriously a ton of content. I put in 145 hours before I "beat" Amalur with 100% achievements, and there are whole questlines I haven't even started.

Anyway, chiming in again to say that Lethal League is fun and everyone needs to buy it while it's on flash sale. I'm cackling at the online matches that go into 200 speed and there's like three or even all four of us still in the game to where it becomes BAT! *300 speed* BAT .5 millisecond later *400 speed* BLAM BLAM BLAM three people down suddenly from trying to smash to where they gain the ball advantage.
