Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I have the PS3 version of Tomb Raider frrom PS+. Even though it's cheap, I'm not sure I need to buy it.

For Borderlands, I really want to play the handsome jack collection on my PS4 trying to get friends to play this with me. I just wish I originally played Borderlands 2 with friends when it was fresh and new.

Is the Shadow of Mordor Season Pass upgrade worth getting?

More so, what DLC is worth getting for SoM if I haven't played the main game yet?

play for 5-10 more years, you'll get decent and the game becomes the best fps of all time. or return it

that's the thing with competitive multiplayer games...

They aren't as fun if you're not winning and how's anyone supposed to get good if you're straight up not as talented. I think there should be some genuine effort to help out the juniors, maybe people with excessive losing records can play somewhere together without dying every two seconds.

I think the other thing is that people have been playing FPS games for years and years and move on from one game to the next that its extremely hard for a newbie to play these type of twitch games.

Anyone want to somehow do an exchange of me giving you a $85.21 gift card for GameStop and in return I want $75.00 for steam purchases of my choosing?

Fix the FoV if you get motion sick (see if that helps) if it does, then you need to do the long slog (ugh) to Private level 3 that Valve introduced then do your 10 wins in ranked. If you're as bad as you say you are, you'll be put into Silver rank. Thereby at that point you'll be playing with people at your skill level and if you rank up, you're improving in a way.

Competitive ranked is what you're nearly looking for, and I say that as someone that hasn't and probably never will touch the competitive ranked mode.

I'll give that a shot, thanks.

still can't do that on console FPS, but CS:GO on the PC maybe it'll help.

Not sure which direction you're turning it, but even though many people suggest turning it up, I get serious motion sickness whenever I play first person games where the field of view is >~70 degrees. It just really disagrees with my mind, like I'm seeing way too much or there's way too much warping at the corners of the screen. So give a shot to turning it down.

So I just finished The Evil Within and enjoyed it for the most part, I was wondering how is the DLC?

It's a different take on it, 2 pieces focus on Kidman and is very stealth heavy, very limited gunplay but shows the events of the main game through her eyes and reveals some things about her. Those are about 6 hours long total.

The 3rd lets you play as the Keeper in a first person perspective going through rooms in the mansion clearing out waves of haunted and bosses. You can upgrade abilities and use traps and stuff, it's pretty neat. That'll last a couple hours.

While not as good as the main game I enjoyed all the DLC.

What are those monster deals !? I need a new chart. Are them real dealz ? Should I wait for the usual daylies / flash sales ???

DLC plays dramatically different from the main game. More stealth based.

It's worth it if you want to more information on the game's plot. Otherwise I would skip.

Thanks for the info, I'll pick up the season pass since it's on sale and it's cheaper than buying the 2 story DLCs separately.

I actually got motion sickness from the game too, and then i changed the fov. But it didn't really improve things much for me.... Eventually i got used to it later on though.

Still no Ori and the Blind Forest T_T

What's the consensus on Borderlands 2 if I hated 1 for how absolutely repetitive and obnoxiously long it was?

The haul so far...I think i have a problem.

I hated 1 but loved 2. Played 2 for around 8 days worth of in-game time. The world and the combat is more fun in 2, but it's pretty grindy just like all loot games. It does have a relatively interesting story and characters though, so they help carry you through.

Alright, so I have money in my stupid Steam Wallet... but it doesn't show up as a payment option when I go to check out. When I'm on the website, in the top-right corner where it typically should show the global wallet amount it shows '$0.00'.

If I click on my account details, it shows I do in-fact have funds in there.

Also, there was a game I was going to get a refund on, I very recently bought it and have used it for zero minutes... that's besides the point really, but it tells me that the item '***** not in Library'. So I have no option to get a refund. I can download it; if I add it to the cart, it tells me I own it, but I can't see an option for refund.

To top all of this off, now whenever I go to add anything to checkout I get the following text in a nice bright orange blinking error.

There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance.

Support who will likely get back to me in 5-7 days, if at all.

Is it funds from a refund? If so that takes 7 days to get back into your steam wallet.

Is Lethal League worth getting if you're only gonna play it solo?

There's great online multiplayer and netcode, so it's worth picking up even if you don't have friends to play with locally. I can't say I'd recommend picking it up now if you're only going to play challenge mode/single player.

Well damn, I guess that clears that up. Thanks.

Any idea about that blinking error? I've restarted the program several times and my computer twice, no dice. I'm going to miss out on some nice deals if this persists.

edit: it fixed its self, after about 3 hours of that..

Eh, even against bots it's pretty fun, IMO. The speed gets fast quickly to where even against a bot you'll be doing nearly the same laughing at your mistake as you would against a human.

True. Their bots can be tricky.

Hey, I'm glad you finally picked it up. The game gets even crazier once you pick up a few tricks. Just wait until you have a few hours under your belt.

Things you can try.

Lower graphic settings.
Ensure that the resolution of the game fits the resolution being output to your monitor. Weirdly the game sometimes tries to display something video cards don't want to work at.
Turn off Tessalation in the game itself.
If you have a NVIDIA card, try going into the NIVIDA options and turning on V-Synch and setting it to Adaptive.
Enable V-sync and Triple

One, or a combination of them, should work.

Turning V-Sync off actually fixed it.

I didn't have any screen tearing, I had just turned it on thinking I needed it, but haven't noticed anything different from having it off other than my game no longer goes black occasionally.

I'm so glad it finally went flash. I've been wanting it for ~$5. I'm enjoying the hell out of it even if I'm getting hit more than I'm hitting other people. It's pretty much the epitome of a great game: Simple to pick up, hard to master. I can see it getting slightly repetitive with most people but ping-ponging balls in an attempt to get up to 100,000 speed is just crazy.

Wait until you master release angles, timing, and the parry. It's so good.

Is Bad Company 2 worth it at this point?
Are there active servers and players? I am pretty sure I bought it in the past but I am too lazy to dig it up, plus, it is only few dollars now on sale.

Man, I wish game downloads on Steam were p2p... bought The New Order like 12 hours ago and thanks to my shitty Internet connection it's only downloaded 25% of the game... comparatively I know it would have already ended a long time ago if it used a torrent-like system. I was hoping to spend my night playing it but that isn't happening :(

Yes. Yes, for nearly all modes. It's not as ACTIVE active as BF3/4, but it's still got players. Like 2,000 or so? Way more than Titanflop anyway. Probably more than Battleflop: Hardflop as well (OHHHHHHHHH, going there).

Well I just want to have a bit of fun... i can't ever see myself getting ranked or anything like that.

Will try turning both directions up and down, seems most people turn it up so there's less movement...

Casual will be that. Ranked will also be that if you aren't in the mindset of winning them all, I guess. But Ranked will put you with other "bad players" whereas Casual is open-season for all skills and players.

There's a parry!?

Yup. You can defend yourself while you're charging a hit by pressing the bunt button. It uses all of your meter, so you'll have to gamble a bit. You can fake out people by making them think you're trying to steal their ball so they end up wasting their super meter.

What's the taunt/Y, Triangle button do? I haven't figured out the use for that outside of the taunt. Though it apparently is able to be charged so I'm not sure what for.

If you press a direction on your analog stick while holding down that button your character will say something like:
