Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

ill pick up isolation later in the year maybe during fall sale
i prefer to play those types of games in October anyways as i marathon horror games since i dont trick or treat i just get candy bought for me

Feeling like adding a bit of flavor to Civ V, what does Brave New World add?
I'm thinking about The Banner Saga and Transistor. Do they have a decent story?

Haven't heard great things about it...most say they just end up going back to Civ 5...has it improved much with the lastest xpac?

Expansion isn't out yet, isn't it?

I'm probably one of the few that actually enjoyed playing Beyond Earth more than Civ 5 + Expansions. The Sci-fi element probably helps, but granted, I did it as a demo on Steam. Not as a $60 purchase. So maybe that skews me a little. I'd pay the $20 for it, but I'm wanting it to hit $15 in the Winter Sale before I think of picking it up.

That or EA allows SMAlpha Centari/Alien Crossfire to finally be on Steam. :/

If you play any amount of civ v just get brave new world. trade routes and ideologies alone make it worthwhile

Black Ops 2 is 2.5 years old and the price is still 59,99€.

Ghost is 1.5 years old and the price is still 59,99€ AND considered one of the poor CoDs.

And that 25% discount only makes it slightly less disgusting.

But it's a nice rip off right there.

Lost Planet 3 is a good short 3rd person shooter.
Don't go in expecting LP1 and 2, but for what it does, it does fine.
Gameplay is really nothing to write home about, but it is the setting, characters and voice acting that make it an interesting trip. You don't need the MP stuff, so just get the base game and give it a chance.

Done, bought the regular version of How to Survive, asked for a refund and bought the complete version instead.

Yes, I asked for a dollar refund. Sue me. :D

Vanishing of Ethan Carter's awesome, especially for that price. I'd recommend it.

About to jump on Thief.. less than ten bucks. Any quick thoughts?
It's my only next gen regret. Awful game imo. :( I was so excited for it too. Navigating the overworld is clunky and confusing, the gameplay itself isn't that exciting and it feels very repetitive after a while.
The Legend of Korra and Agarest 2: worth it or not?
I played Korra on PS4, haven't finished it but what I did play I really enjoyed. Be aware though, it's fucking hard. Like, really hard. She's a glass cannon and some of the boss fights are incredibly unforgiving to the point where it feels unfair.

Is it good coop?

The Legend of Korra and Agarest 2: worth it or not?

Imo, for Korra, yes. The battle system is great, some bits are ridiculously over the top, and overall I enjoyed it. The level design isn't the best, story is pretty basic, and the lack of many characters makes it feel quite empty. But still, I'd say it's worth it.

The thing with Civ V is I'm kinda getting bored of the setting, I've been playing since Civ IV, and I really need something fresher, maybe I'll wait on Beyond Earth for a deeper discount :P

The thing is, if you're looking to use mods/Workshop stuff the two expansions for Civ 5 are pretty much needed for most of them. If you're wanting to change things up a little, get Brave New World. I didn't play it by itself with Civ 5 since I came in later, but the stuff it adds is in Beyond Earth IIRC.

COD almost always has terrible sales.

they did manage a decent sale on Ghosts last Xmas tho ...the Gold Edition was only around $12 or so ...so i grabbed it.

good single player campaign ...i was surprised. multiplayer is standard issue 'meh'.

too bad they don't have better deals.

I want Alien Isolation, but I'm not sure I'll actually like it... so waiting until later in the year for a deeper discount.

Warhammer Space Marine is still over $10? GTFO, SEGA.

I didn't think of that :D I'll check and see if any mods sound fun. I'm just not that into its aesthetic anymore, I'm more interested in what a Sci-Fi Civ would be like.

Is there any link where people could see your maps to try them in FC3? It would be cool to try out if I ever go back to the game.

If you search "MGS3 Groznyj Grad" on PC, it should come up.

FWIW its fantastic. I finally finished it the other night and it was an unforgettable experience. GOTY 2014 hands down. As in the actual definition of GOTY and not some whoring buzzword.

Well there's a 200 turn(?) demo of Beyond Earth if you're wanting to check it out. Unless Valve/Fireaxis havce removed it off Steam...

I want to get Transistor and Banner Saga but my Humble Bundle sense is tingling so hard I'm about to fall out of my chair. Must...not...buy.

Last Survivor and Crew Expendable feature Ripley in scenarios from the movie, if you're into that. They're also only £.69 each

Yeah, I don't have any of the DLC either. Looking over the descriptions, these two seem like the only "story/scenario" content in the bunch. Everything else looks like time-trial, arena stuff. Also helps that the two mentioned packs feature original characters and cast voice talent.

Is this a fair assessment?
