Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Team doge of course.

Anyone else wish there was an option to change your gear while waiting between online matches?

It's become probably my favorite map at this point. So many options and so much space to maneuver.

Quite different than the more traditional elongated maps for sure. No real way for intrusion into the enemy's base; everything is constantly changing hands. Makes for fluid and exciting games!

Thanks for replies. I worded my question poorly- I meant to say, might as well start leveling them as it appears we will indeed be using them in battle.

Reaching the upper end of B+ now (68 points). Going to call it a day while I'm ahead rather than rage after a losing streak. I may actually reach A- next week! (or, more likely, back to B).

The B+ struggle is real. Got up to 84 and had a 5-6 game losing streak.

I would like to be team dog but I feel like team cat will probably win. I mean, the game does have Judd...

I had the time for a little experiment

one test with 3 Damage Up (Main) and 3 Damage Up (Sub) (slightly above +25% damage - see 1 2), one test without

Dont underestimate us dog fans!
I hope they do some global splatfests, America and Japan are probably fine, but Europe is going to suffer badly from the lack of players, specially if the theme is chose poorly.

So dmg up is almost a must for charger users? Dang must get that set then~

Is that the minimum amount of damage ups you need to get charger kills not fully charged?

Edit: with what charger also?

I hadn't played ranked in a week. I forgot how fun it is. Port Mackerel is great.

Port Mackerel is my favorite map on ranked, no doubt

Yeah, Mackerel is nice. You can stick close to/watch the zones while still having chances for little backrages because of the layout.

Warehouse ranked is over fast. First team to get splatted loses. I think if that is your team, you need to wait at spawn until everyone is back then rush all at once.

Today was my first time playing that stage in ranked and every match basically went the same way -- both teams just rushing the zone head on then as you said, the team that lost that first skirmish ended up just getting wrecked. Finally had a bit of sustained success there playing from the right side and crossing up the enemy with my next-level C-rank flanking tactics (throwing shit everywhere). Feel like that's the way to go if it's feasible.

In other news: checked the messages of people in my plaza and TEAM DOGS was up 10-2. Cats don't stand a chance, sue for peace while you still can!

maybe not must-have, but if you want to use other chargers Squiffer-style you should probably stack some Damage Up, I think. At +25% damage you kill at the 80+ damage mark (without Damage Up)

Kelp Charger
no, every Damage Up (sub or main) will decrease your charge time for a 100 damage shot, it's just difficult to get over +25% damage because of diminishing returns

That wasn't the case with me yesterday at least, my team lost the initial rush to the base and I got splatted a few times, but the other team sucked at defending it and once we got control of it they never took it back

10-0 in Ranked with the Dual Squelcher.

We won 100-0. Games like this keep me sane when I feel like Ranked is always out to fuck me over.

I still use the splatterscope, mostly because my aim is horrible without it lol
I really wanted to get good with the E-liter 3K, but damn even with the burst bombs for close ranged, I just cant get the hang of it. Specially because I cant splatter anyone if they are not exactly inside the target... So frustrating.

Yeah thought it was a kelp, do you think it's worth it wasting so many ability slots on damage up though especially considering you had to waste your main slots

I'm not a Charger user so maybe I don't know shit but I feel like it seems super situational, granted that situation is likely someone coming at you so every second counts. It just feels like a lot of the time you do get the chance to get a full Charge.

Has anyone made GIFs of a timelapse of the map throughout the match? I'd love to see those. I would actually do it, but I have no way to capture it. I'd love to see how the team eventually wins. Comebacks would be cool to see.

That's cool, some back and forth would be nice there. Just in my (limited) experience the match was usually decided right at the start and the enemy was quickly ensconced in our butts.

There are two distinct subsets of rollers:

Those who are competent

and

Those who end up on my team

The two sets NEVER intersect. :(

Had a match with me and three rollers. They managed 500p. Between them.

Had some bad luck today. Doing B+ ranked matches, lost one with our team at one second, the other team getting the timer to 0 (KNOCKOUT feels realllly unfair in situations like this.) Next game I was the only person on my team that registered a kill. 100-0 knockout. Ugh.

works for me, I don't miss the other abilities and really I just want people to splat when I shoot them

here's the video (should be in real time), you can score a triple kill in less than 3 seconds so assuming there's no lag (haha) and the sniper has a good day it's probably not a terribly good idea to attack them from the front

I'm far from being the best sniper here but I rely on the ability to 1-shot someone at 2/3 charge. Comes from playing the Squiffer for 40+ hours

Honestly, Nintendo's version of ranked is one of the most unforgiving that I've experienced in an online game. Very surprising.

Add me and lets play some matches later today, I'll show how good a krak-on roller user can be ;)

Oh, I know how good they can be...they just never end up on my team.

Last match dude with the Splatroller on my team ended up with 98p. S/he was with us from the beginning. I get 150p before I leave the spawn and I use the Splattershot Jr. .

Yesterday I had a match on Saltspray rig against a team with three rollers. They were all complete ninjas who would splat me the second I got anywhere close to their ink color

e: gotta fix the link real quick

But the real question is why do you need to shoot faster when it's already been proven you can shoot from beyond the grave

Try using any weapon with a decent range, and you can massacre them. I normally try to avoid it by using the kraken or the killer wail, but a good Dual Squelcher user almost always destroy me, no matter how Ninja I try to be.
And Adam are you playing with low levels?

Cool stuff.

My own tests with Damage Up stacking are showing a significantly increased OHKO range for the blaster explosion. I was able to splat two kids at once with the same blaster shot in turf wars.

I should test Damage Up stacking with rollers next.
