Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I'll try asking again: Is FarCry 4 worth the price for someone who liked but couldnt get into FC3? Did they mix things enough to make things more interesting? Is the story any better?

So, Steam, which one is it?

Might have to refund State of Decay. I keep running into an issue where I swipe characters and then it goes on an endless loading screen loop. It isn't supposed to load long when you switch and I can still hear the game and move my character around.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say every 12 hours.

Far Cry 2 still beats both of them out, lol. Far Cry 4 is pretty and all, the skill system is basic, money is easy to come by, the map is incredibly expansive, but I never had a sense of immersion outside of Shangri La missions and a few others. I still haven't finished it and I bought it on release. Downloaded and everything, I'm about 40% through and cannot be bothered. Story is not that much better than 3.

Are any of the WH40k Space Marine DLCs essential or recommended if i'm only interested in the single player campaign, or should i just go with the base game?

It's pretty much a standard Ubi iteration, from what I played. Not really better or worse. I'd just wait until the next sale, it'll probably be <$10.

I hope the next Brothers in Arms game is not published by Ubisoft. Hopefully Gearbox will have their hands firmly on it.

Seems they do actually own the IP.

It's going to be F2P eventually, apparently. So: No, unless you REALLY want to play it right now.

Not for a loooonnnggg time at this pace of development, but I haven't read anything specific.

Now that I think about it I should get CoD4, it was pretty great

Just bought cod4 and metal slug. I recently sold off my whole console collection, I put an enormous amount of time into cod4 on ps3.

can't wait to play it on my tv with steamlink/steamcontroller

Played COD 4 last year. To be honest, the game doesn't hold up from a single player perspective. By the end of the game, I was just ready for it to be over, the general gameplay loop is just extremely monotonous.

Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I'm just outside the target demographic. Your mileage may vary.

Doing this may induce extreme rage when using a controller on a TV with very mild lag against people using KBAM.

Kinda tempted by Endless Legend but I also have a huge backlog and a soft rule of limiting myself to games costing £10 or less. I might wait for the next sale, I think.

What's the deal with State of Decay YOSE? Just skimming the reviews on Steam it looks like I should just buy the 2 DLC packs instead since I already own the base game.

For what it's worth, I've found it much harder to get into than Civ. I bought it cheap and am glad I didn't pay more for it, so I would recommend waiting for sure.

Oh man, Styx: Master of Shadows is INCREDIBLE, the best stealth game I played in 10+ years. No minimap, no x-ray, just amazing gameplay and godlike level design, with a pretty damn interesting plot so far.
Forget Batman, Thief 4, MGSV and other AC shit, Styx is the real deal.
The production value and art design are great too. It's really puzzling how we hardly hear anything about that game.

For me it's the best surprise of the sale so far.

Endless Space is also discounted. I decided to bite (on Endless Legend), if only to support the dev a bit.

So whats new in State of Decay: Year One edition if I already got the original one with the 2 dlc? Can only find the differences for the console versions.

I'm not sure myself but if Steam Reviews are any indication it's not worth it. I'm on the fence on this one too.

I also want Fable Anniversary... that's not GFWL infested, is it?

For new owners of How To Survive, they're going to be putting out a standalone version where it puts you in a 3rd person perspective.

It's not included in toady's sale, but owners of the first game can get it for $3. Looks like it could change how the game is played quite a bit.

I had a feeling H1Z1's DDE disappearing shortly after the sale began was a sign that it was slated to be a featured deal. Can't say I see the logic, though -- if people want to pay more for your game, let them.

So what are the chances of Shovel Knight hitting a daily/flash sale? Would pay the £9.34 but have a funny feeling that as soon as I do it will drop.

Am I right in thinking CoD4 doesn't support xinput? I really want to buy it because I love the single player, but no controller support would be a deal breaker.

I'm hesitating to buy Alien: Isolation. Little bit afraid being chased by the alien all the time will feel like a hassle.

Is Alien Colonial Marines any good? Heared some bad things about it.

It's been for sale for some time, chances are good. Just wait till the last day of the sales, then buy.
Nevertheless, it's an amazing game.

Isolation is meant to be very good, but too long.

Colonial Marines is infamously bad.

It lacks native controller support, but you can get around that using tools like Pinnacle (currently half off) or joy2key (free).

Are there any chances the sun will come up tomorrow?

Steam controller time!

What is the likelihood of the following:

Ground Zeroes: 75% off, $15

Assassin's Creed Unity: : 75% off, $15

Dead Rising 3: 75% off, $12

In a world where Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is still $20 on a daily, I'd say low.

Man, I bought Homeworld remastered and couldn't get it to run. "Access violation", that was all it said.
I gave it two hours of updating and searching and then gave up and asked for a refund, was promptly reimbursed. 10/10.

Now I hope for another space game to scratch that itch, for example a better Elite dangerous deal. Steam plz? ;)

Endless Legend is by far the best 4X I've played in years, and I say that having disliked Endless Space a lot. Incredible faction diversity, and a really cool setting. The combat is mixed, but even if you dislike it, you can basically just boil it down to Civ death-stacks. I really can't recommend it enough.

Honestly, it's so good that the Civ 5 Complete Collection that I would have bought in a second in any other situation is looking a lot less appealing to me, lol.

Far Cry 4 is practically Far Cry 3 in a different setting. The game does very little to differentiate itself.

Given the fact FC4 is $30 I have no hope that AC 4/Unity are going to get an appropriate sale price.

No chance on dead rising 3 or unity. Ground zeroes is likely at $5.

Dead rising 3 probably $30, and Unity at $25-30

State of Decay worth $9?

edit: People are already talking about the game on this page. My bad. Is the game really that buggy? Some of these reviews are... esh.
