Ultimately want the guys choose for top 10s is their business and how they get there is what is entertaining but outside of Patrick doing a Shoemaker Filibuster, I don't know what he was supposed to do. Fucking lack of backwards compatibility.
Remasters run in higher resolution and up to double the framerate. BC games sometimes don't even run as well as the original due to the difficulties of emulation. You would still have remasters even with BC. There were remasters last gen of PS2 and Xbox games.

The crowd didn't seem happy to hear that design started after Fallout 3 and I don't blame them. Lot has changed since then and that would put you a bit on edge in terms of the design philosophy.
