What year is the prologue set in? Lol, super-advanced robot but old, shitty TV. And no I've never played Fallout ;b

I loved how people started applauding when they showed off that you can play as a female character. It really says something about the media when everyone applauds at something that has always been part of the Fallout franchise.
Voiced protagonists... Why, Bethesda, why?![]()
Ah, I missed that rumor. That might explain the applause.I was happy since the rumor that we'll only be playing as a male was circling around, which is what Todd probably was referencing when he said that of course we'll be playing as a female.
Yeah but it was a sickly radioactive green... which makes sense but we will probably be able to change it. Also, customizable settlement names please! You Have Discovered GAF-VILLE
Mass Effect dialog system.
Ugh, poor Fallout.
You're not getting it because they threw in a completely optional(which Howard even emphasized) extensive crafting system?
I might have to take a break from GAF during E3. I don't know if I can take it and not give up on humanity.
Watched all the gameplay videos, excited and hyped as hell. Come to GAF to share in the excitement and hype with my fellow Gaffers, but apparently the game looks shit and last gen. Sorry GAF.
Not quite. It's based on what the people in the 50's thought the future would look like. That's the classic setting of Fallout. It's in the future but stuck in the 1950's society.
I may have missed this, but does anyone know who in the UK will be stocking the Pipboy edition? I know amazon.com has it, can I assume amazon.co.uk will be stocking it too?
Yep, they are.
They're showing off what's new in the game man. You're not gonna get a complete look at the game and how well distributed the effort has been based on a couple little videos. In fact, you can never really get a good idea of this without actually playing the game yourself.Again with the "optional" fallacy. It seems you just too got too sensitive with any sort of criticism that you managed to subvert the main concerns I have for this game. The problem here, that flew over your head, is the amount of effort dedicated to this "optional" content than core world-building or other role-playing elements.
No, you only have 4 answers each time - one for each button of your controller. And you don't really see what the character is going to say. Like in Mass Effect.Meaning? Dialog options segregated by karma?
If so... Uuuugh...
Can't watch the footage, because work.

Not really mad about this. Think this was included because the main character acutally talks now so hearing him say exactly what you just read would have been a bit boring.
I'm sure it was a PC and I'm also sure they won't have issues producing those visuals on a console. They look nice enough but certainly nothing mind blowing. We have plenty of games on consoles already that look better than this.Did they say what type of system they were running the demo on? I know they were using a Xbox Controller, but I don't think that was an XB1 they were using
Wondering if they can reproduce those same visuals on a console?
They aren't showing up for me.
Niceee, but it looks like they took a lot of the improvements straight from theProject Nevada Mod for New Vegas lol
- Grenade Hotkey
- Visor when you wear helmet
- Correct me if I am wrong but in additional to V.A.T.S it looks like there could be a slow time feature, "bullet time"
Not complaining looks sick
Just different priorities.I'm excited for it, but it's a shame that all of the jank and badly designed elements are so clearly still there.
You have to wonder if it's ignorance or arrogance that they don't fix the most obvious problems game after game.
I just started thinking about this: is it possible that Bethesda has more to show from Fallout 4 on the Microsoft press conference today? The reveal notably did not show extended footage from a quest, instead focusing on showing off free exploration and the crafting and upgrade systems. What is preventing Bethesda from stealing the thunder during the MS presser by showing 8 minutes of VATS and dialogue heavy gameplay in the middle of a quest?
Quests are exclusive to Xbox One, PS4 and PC will only get exploration and crafting without story
