Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

For people with good-to-great skill at the game, sure. For the average player I'd say sticking to Normal for at least your first playthrough is the way to go to learn the ropes, even if it isn't your first Ys.

Are there any good Visual Novels on Steam? Higurashi and *eden seems kinda okay, but everything else I've seen doesn't really inspire much confidence in me. Is there some standout-novel I should look for?
What are you looking for exactly? If My Heart Had Wings is pretty nest if you like choicrs and different routs with romance, friendship and girl ls riding you motorless glider. Nekopara is short and linear, but super cute with two dangerously young catgirls.

edit: Oh and Cherry Tree High ComedybClub is the next best thing we go to a dating sim, but wihtout dating. You make friends instead to revieve the commledy club while doing homework and earn money.

Just asking again.

Steam Refunds said:
You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it.

It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we've described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we'll take a look.

You will be issued a full refund of your purchase within a week of approval. You will receive the refund in Steam Wallet funds or through the same payment method you used to make the purchase. If, for any reason, Steam is unable to issue a refund via your initial payment method, your Steam Wallet will be credited the full amount. (Some payment methods available through Steam in your country may not support refunding a purchase back to the original payment method. Click here for a full list.)

I've read that and it doesn't address my issue. I've played the game in question for less than 2 hours and it hasn't been 24 hours since I bought it. I can see the refund options for other games, just not this one or any other game I bought along with the game I first refunded. And no, it was not part of a bundle.

I think he meant it more like, if you applied for a refund and gotten it, do you have to wait a "cool-down" period of time to apply for another refund, or could you do another one instantly?

At least that's how I interpret it.

Oh... No idea. Seems it's a long approval process to begin with so I doubt it. They even allow you to request a refund if you're outside the refund window. Maybe emailing support would clarify? I've never contacted them so I've no idea how quick they are to respond.

Sorry! No clue whatsoever then.

Cherry Tree High Comedy Club also has a sequel, called something like Cherry Tree High I! My! Girls!, that's a full-on visual novel. Haven't played it yet so can't tell you if it's any good.

Sadly it's just a linear story. I really missed the dating sim gameplay from the first gsme.

There's a few bugs with the game that can halt progress, 60+FPS requires a tweak, and if running at a framerate higher than 30, QTEs are impossible to complete without an additional tweak.

Assuming you don't hit a progress bug, most systems should be able to handle the game just fine.

So just a couple .ini tweaks needed for 60fps.

Guess i'll make it my second purchase of the summer sale then, and hope i don't get hit by too many bugs.

Any opinions on 7 Days to Die?

I'm considering picking it up while its on sale for $9.99... (still 60% off from yesterday's Flash Sale)

If anyone is interested I'm open to hosting a 2-pack ($15.99)...that'd make each of our copies $8.00.

Let me know!

I liked 7 days to die. It's a bit of the generic survival game nowadays.

It has a nice crafting system, with tons of stuff to make and you can modify the terrain and build in a "minecraft" style.

Graphically it's a bit rough still, but it's overall enjoyable, and it's better if you play with more people.

Probably going to pick up LISA and a Ys game too. Of those I have played only Memories of Celceta on PSV, which do you think I should get?

All of them are great. I would probably suggest Ys 1 and 2, since they are the originals, or Oath in Felghana, since it is the tightest and most playable of the three games using that engine.

Yeah, I was thinking of I & II+ too for trying to follow a chronological sequence when possibile. I accept challenging and satisfying gameplays, just hoping they don't feel too old nowadays. Thanks for the answer, anyway :)

Amazon have Borderlands 2 GOTY for $8. Worth it if you're just going to run through the single player?

I played BL1 just single player and I am currently playing BL2 both single and Coop.

Obviously Coop is really fun but personally I think its a great single player game as well. There is a story and humor. When I am playing coop Im not really paying attention to teh story as much

Wasn't there something about being unable to run the game on a 2 core system tho?

That's actually one of the more forwards thinking problems a Japanese port has ever had.

Eventually that problem will sort itself out through hardware proliferation. Most problems in these games get worse over time.

I'm pretty much open to anything as long as it is well done and is an engaging read, really. Will look into the stuff you mentioned, thanks!

Finally bought something!

I grabbed Alice: The Madness Returns and On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3+4 bundle.

Hoping today's deals will finally include some Dark Souls love.

How is the PC port of Killer is dead ?

For that price, it's tempting.

Bought it on last Friday at 50% discount. It works well, though it is set at 30fps standard, you have to manually alter the game to get it working at 60

The game itself reminds me a lot of Killer7, which I adored for its strangeness.

At the moment it is now a daily at 80% off, should have waited :(

Only Origin in this sale, will pick up the other(s) in next sale (winter, perhaps).
One YS at a time. I heard that the games are quite long (40 hours-ish?). That'll take a couple of weeks for me.

They are all around 10-15 hrs long. I think TiTS is the long series.

Own them all from previous sales except for Napishtim. Discount isn't big enough for me to pull the trigger. Maybe the winter sale?

I'm not sure I'd recommend Napishtim unless you've already beaten the others and just need another hit of that Ys.

This is getting out of hand.

Will I be able to keep my stuff when I start a new game?

Hey guys,

With the new Dishonored being announced I really want to replay the original but on PC this time, I never did finish it. What are the chances it goes less than $10? It's not on flash or anything.

I'm proud of myself. Didn't buy a single game yet.

Well, technically that's not true. I did buy Wolfenstein The New Order but I didn't like the game and asked for a refund.

I'll probably just get Game of Thrones and Metal Gear Rising. Maybe Dishonored too.

It most likely will. Did go on sale during the winter @ 4.99 for just the base game.

Want to get:
To the Moon ($2.49)
Gone Home ($6.79)

Are they are good price now?

I have a copy of To The Moon, if you'd like to save on that 2.49. I'll link you to the ancient giveaway that has remained untouched for months since most everyone has gotten it in bundles.

I just want a card to drop.I'm just under 4000, clicked a ton, used a bunch of items, started new games and I still haven't got a drop today despite having 8 more drops available.
You can only get 2-3 card drops a day. Odds are you got one when you entered the game and another shortly after
