The best mods are

1. Copyrighted stuff
2. Stuff the Xbox One can't do.

I think the "mods" will be stuff like... yo here's a gun that's kinda different. Which hey, that's better than nothing!

Yup.

And game balancing stuff. "Hey, play this super hard mode! Inspired by Dark Souls!"

The BC list is shit to be honest. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility/available-games

My problem with PS Now is that it should have been Sony's "Sega Channel." A subscription service either as standalone or integrated into PS+ (can't happen now I guess) that offers an ever expanding list of classic games. Keep streaming or partial downloads or whatever helps the process be smoother. Sony could probably do the same thing with download games in an run it in an OS environment, but I like the streaming aspect. The cost of PS Now is the deterrent I personally see.

Well yeah it's just in preview atm. The way they said it made it sound like it's pretty painless for developers to add in BC so that list could shoot up fast.

"Banjo Kazooie: N n B"

Yeah, that list looks like it was written in a hurry. Wonder if BC came in hot?

Regarding the Fallout 4 mods PC-Xbox cross compatibility (that happened right?), it isn't going to be awesome as it sounds if Fallout 4 needs an out-of-game script extender like every previous Bethesda open world game, which is what all the grandest mods will require to work properly.

Yeah. The mod support is probably limited, I suspect that it will spit out an error or maybe have some sort of dependency tracking which will warn you of incompatibility.

Game balancing mods are the real highlight. Anyone that has modded past Bethesda games knows that fixing combat, UI, and environmental interactions are the real deal.

He gets anxiety attacks. He just said in chat that it's acting up.

:(

I read his book not long ago, it sounds like hell. Hopefully it doesn't ruin E3 for him.

I would say it's a safe bet environmental and UI stuff will be really restricted.

Expect a lot of 'gun x did 3 damage, it now does 4', 'mob y has 3 more hp' etc.

But I could end up pleasantly surprised, so who knows.

Dan really shuts down on these things huh?

Yeah I was wondering yesterday if his anxiety has been getting to him. He's usually a very vocal guy but he's looked out of it these last 2 streams.

Shit that sucks to hear. I hope it gets better for him soon.

And this is why you don't tell people you have anxiety. The entire chat is blowing up with people speculating about Dan and his anxiety every single one of these streams, every time. So now the poor guy is sitting there reading the chat and the constant speculation about this problem of his and that just makes everything so much worse. People have no subtlety.

Let someone else read the chat.

you're probably going to feel that way unless you're super duper into MGS.

I mean, take a look at the trailer thread, everyone's freaking out over the end (rightfully so, imo)

Wait, what happened in the end? I saw the trailer, I played the games and I don't remember anything special about it.

I'm excited for EA this year.. After last years disappointing conference they have the chance to really step up and surprise this year. You got both the Battlefront and the Visceral/Amy Henning Star Wars Game. New Mirror's Edge. Possible new Bioware IP they've been teasing past two years? The Criterion extreme sports game thing.. I'm definitely looking forward to it and hope to be blown away..
