Metal Gear Solid V E3 2015 Trailer

Sorry... but the trailer was a bit confusing. I have some questions.

Who was talking throughout? Was it ever Snake? As far as I understand it, he has a new voice actor in this game and I'm not sure if I've actually heard him yet.

As for the story stuff.... I I haven't played one of these games since Metal Gear Solid 2. Am I going to be completely lost playing this one?

Ocelot is talking for some of it, Skullface is talking for some of it, Major Zero for some parts, and then Big Boss get's the final line.

Woah.
Paz
is back? WTF after Ground Zeroes' ending. WTF. WTF. WTF.

Such a fucking somber trailer.
It's like Kojima is expressing what he feels through his last work here.
Fuck, my man, I hated you for what you did with Hayter, but damnit, I love your games, and i love you ;__;

Kojima has always done that, he always puts his feelings and own meta commentary into his games.

Holy shit you see everything!

Psycho Mantis, Liquid, Volgin
- confirmed.

This really is the Metal Gear to end Metal Gears.

I have some wonderings about the stinger, IF it's what it implies to be (It might be a different twist)

1.
Why is Liquid with Snake when Snake never knew anything about him until he encountered him at Shadow Moses

2.
Why is he blonde? It was never confirmed if Snake really had blonde hair or not, he didn't have blonde hair in the SNES games and the only thing MGS1 had about his hair is the fact it was the same length/style as Liquid so he cut it, since his hair was literally never blonde at any point before MGS1 or after MGS1, that whole thing I thought came down to the artstyle they used in Briefing videos?

3.
Liquid's hair was said to be brown initially but the sun in Iraq bleached it blonde over time, which would be fine if not also for the fact we have the opposite color problem with Snake now

I don't think that was Solid Snake.

Solidus was born after them by a different mother, he was also just an exact balanced clone of Big Boss so he had dark hair, Snake and Liquid were modified.

Liquid and Snake aren't identical and they fucking look identical there. It's like they made two Liquids.

Just want to say again, FOX Engine is insanely impressive.

Cross gen or not, the visuals are just beautifully designed while holding 60fps. This is how I prefer development to be approached. They've had 60fps in this thing for ages now and it's just looking so polished.

They made smart artistic choices to work around limitations while focusing on a high frame-rate. Very very slick.

Trailer was great too.

KOJIMA REALLY MIRRORED HIS SITUATION WITH KONAMI WITH THIS TRAILER ....FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing and sad ;_;

I'm want to print a bunch of 'A HIDEO KOJIMA PRODUCTION' stickers, and go put them on the retail copies of this game in my town's stores

I...something about this trailer tells me Kojima is going to pull another Raiden on us. But this time the effect will be opposite.

Can someone tell me what the fuck was going on that trailer?

Is it supernatural stuff now?

Because if yes then that makes it more appealing to me.

Someone correct me if my political term usage isn't right, but isn't what the trailer is describing(cultures living alongside each other, without being assimilated) closer to Canada's multiculturalism than America's melting pot?

Like I could just be remembering stuff wrong, would appreciate a clarification here because I was confused for a second.
I have to hear it again but if that is what was said, I think you'd be right.

Yeah it looks like this game just keeps getting better.
A nice change from the usual downgrade-with-every trailer for most games.

what if it ends up being like mgs4?

what if it ends up being a massive disappointment?

the thought of that is very unsettling.

Some William S Burroughs/Word-Virus stuff going on in that trailer.

They also reference the Sapir/Whorf hypothesis which happens to be the cornerstone of a little book called '1984'. It posits that the structure of language affects the way we view and understand the world. An example would be, if you don't know any words for something like 'freedom', how can you identify, express or even understand the experience?

That's some heavy shit.

thats MGS2 level stuff. I hope MGS5 is as good as 2 in that sense.

Im sure it's related to La li lu le lo and Information flow control.
MGS2 all up on this!

Ah man, such good stuff...

So the really crazy stuff is gonna be really crazy if the attack while Big Boss is driving is anything to go by.

What I'm interested is the overall themes. We've had 'words that kill' for over two years now, never even thinking that was a key part of Skullface's ideology. What does it mean? I mean it's another villain with a goal to create a world the Boss wanted, but it looks like this time Big Boss might actually be buying into it. How exactly are they planning to distort language?

Also an obligatory Fuck You Konami for getting rid off the Kojima Productions badge.

I thought it was harsh to see Geoff getting kind of emotional when he announced the trailer.

Last MGS E3 trailer by Kojima, it really fits the mood of the trailer too. So good.

The story sounds like your usual Metal Gear mess. Expectations there are pretty much zero.

Hopefully the Motherbase crap won't interfere too much with the awesome gameplay they crafted.
They lost me at the obligatory close up on the bouncing breasts. No point in putting that in the trailer.
