I just saw this on reddit...http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/3a32xz/xbox_360_controllers_can_be_connected_to_a/.compact
Apparently you can connect Xbox 360 controllers to a Windows 10 PC (streaming Xbone) to use for couch coop.
Not confirmed, but this might support arcade wheels, rock band instruments, etc too.
Pretty cool!

The fact that a new version of a game needs to be downloaded for this to work means that Microsoft is running some process on it (and creating something"new")
That will be why they need the permission of the Publishers. Permission to modify the original code.
From an engineering standpoint, this is so fucking crazy to me.
Essentially, MS found a way to emulate three Cell Broadband Engine PPEs at 3.2 GHz, a PC GPU (which is SUPER hard to do, I might add), and all the RAM strangeness that the 360 has at the same time.
All of that running on what is basically slightly-above-average laptop-grade hardware. Like, dayum.
Might as well. Thanks.
It just seems like they went for the sexy headline with this feature. Catches your attention. But when you actually analyze what functionality yore getting, it's not nearly as cool as you thought. Still, applaud MS for the effort here. Better than ps now (even though it's run fine for me).
There's a bit of "proof" there in that the build tags/internal names of the titles having x64 in the string.
Isn't it more like...put a disc in your Xbox one, and then get a free download of the game?
I don't think the game is ever running off of the disc. Putting the disc in simply confirms you own it, allowing you to play the downloaded digital version. The XB1 isn't really running that disc. I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter that much. And if I'm wrong about how this is working let me know.
As I explained here, the problem is disc support. If it were digital only, publishers would be all over it.Aside from the big Xbox One user base that may decide to PURCHASE these third party titles for their Xbox One because now they are playable on the system?
The potential to MAKE MONEY and all you have to do is agree and say go for it, but yeah, NO THIRD party company is going to want to do something crazy like that.
try hard reset? you have the latest preview update, right?
Okay. Laughing at my self here. First, the hard reset didn't work.
Second, Mass Effect did work, it was Mass Effect 3 that was giving me problems. I don't know why I have two ME1 cases (mine is collectors ed), but thanks anyway, sangreal.
Mass Effect 3 isn't supported yet, read the OP for working games.
does suspend/resume work??
does suspend/resume work??
Mass Effect seems to close when I do suspend/resume.
I've also noticed the 360 wrapper settings don't stay when you restart the game. So if you like playing "Appear offline" as default, you have to go into the blades and change it when you load up the game.

I was sure it did, but maybe not (or future revisions fixed it). At least, I ran mine off a phat and a slim and they both did it. This is one of the threads that mentions it.You say the music happened in all cases, but did every Xbox have this bug? I have it installed on a modded 360 and a retail 360, definitely neither have any skipping.
I don't remember the shadow issue that much, maybe because I was playing from bumper cam at the time. I just remember how well it ran!Car shadows spaz out a lot on that game, though. Definitely not as bad as performance issues but it's distracting.

Can anyone confirm if there is any added AA/AF?

How long does it take for a preview invite to arrive in my inbox?
I think I am screwed. Quick Mustard was kind enough to send me an invite but I see nothing. I think it's because a couple of months ago I got a preview invite and deleted the message. Damn!!!
Does anyone know cloud saves don't work with Super Meat Boy? Will it ever work?
Pretty sure he/she just means their cases were mixed up![]()
Any performance improvementsin titles?
If so, guarantees an Xbone purchase if/when Dragons Dogma becomes compatible.
Not confirming or denying, but I feel like we shouldn't expect asset/rendering changes to the games, it could introduce new issues to deal with for MS.
It's very common for emulators to add IQ improvements, even the PS2 added bilinear filtering to PSone games.Uhh no, this is just emulating the games, they aren't remastering all games.
1 Frankenstein console with Sony, MS, Nintendo input.....and some PC folks too. Can play all their exclusives. PC exclusives too.
It shall be backwards compatible all the back to Atari 2600 days. Can use cartridges and discs of course. And if you really like digital....any physical media you have will have a free digital version, whether its cartridge or disc. This goes for games you already have and future games. Will still apply if you get a game used.
Sorry if it has been asked before, but has there been anything officially announced regarding wireless peripherals (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, XBox 360 wheel) support? I understand that the XB1 uses a different wireless technology, but what if you had one of those wireless receivers that is used for the PC?
For all the talk about me not caring about BC.....this immediately puts the XBO on upcoming purchase status. Sony.....if they dont follow suit....

Also: I don't mean to beg, but if someone out there's got a preview program invite, pls. Give me. I'll owe you one.
My gamertag is GhostlyMau5.
Hit me up.
ever heard of vmware ?
Any word about more specifics on how new titles will be added?Phil Spencer talking about this right now on Giantbombs show.

I uploaded my cloud saves and am playing Mass Effect right now, this works so incredibly well. Still can't believe they did it.
Sweet. Seems like a simple process to get new games approved. And did he mention whether or not the holiday launch will have more games than are currently supported? I am guessing they will steadily roll more out to preview members over the coming months...He says there are very little tweaks for individual titles, pretty much except for multi disc games they just need to repackage it and the emulator will work. For 3rd party they just need permission to repackage and then test the game, no tweaks are made to the actual game code. The emulator is for the whole hardware layer, an actual 360 os runs on it and then games run on that.
