So if I own them on XBLA, I can just re-download them? All my 360 XBLA arcade game will work?
It would be up for the publishers to agree to it. The digital games show up you in Xbox One Game Library under Ready to Install.

Go to about 1 hour 30 minutes, and Spencer discusses how it's done
still working on multi-disc games.
It is straight emulation. There's a Giant Bomb interview somewhere where they explained it in better detail.
Only NA discs currently work
Yup, my thoughts exactly
Do you mean North America by NA?
Because Mass Effect works for me in the UK
What they are doing is taking the executable, the emulator and the emulator config and bundling them. The actual game is still in it's same state and does not change. From game to game they may make modification to the emulator config but that's it.
It's somewhat like images on a webpage. You don't need to re-compose them, rather just include them.
Which is fantastic and basically means it will only get better.According to Phil they actually don't individually change the emulator for each game. Anything tweaks or changes they do with it is universal to the emulation of all 360 games.
It's basically a 360.wtf, even beacons work?

Once this really gets rolling, I hope they open a 360 storefront on the Bone.
You got banned for the way you were arguing, not your argument.Yea I got banned on nGAF and B3D for aggressively arguing that these games could be recompiled in VS to run on a new CPU architecture.
FU

I wonder if in the final release they will separate the VM so that you only need to download/update it once. I have ~2TB of space available so I'm not in jeopardy of running out anytime soon, but adding ~500MB to each game for the VM could be increasingly wasteful once the library fills out. Not to mention bandwidth.Considering the whole emu/VM is package with each individual title, wouldn't this essentially require an update on every 360 game if any significant changes are made?

Yeah, that's true. Might be no way around it. Oh well, I don't plan to download EVERY game in my library anyways.I'm not sure there's a way for the Xbox One to load a single emu, but still differentiate the games at an OS level. When you play different games it says you're playing that game rather than "Xbox 360 emulator". It's pretty important as each game has it's own hub, and screenshots, videos, broadcasts etc.
i wouldnt be surprised if they're downplaying the amount of games they'll have for fall and ends up being closer to 200+-300+ BC titles. Emulation seems very good so far
Aim high, shoot low. Best thing for this rollout.
Anyone else have cloud issues? I put my super meat boy save into the cloud on 360 but it does not go over to the Xbone

I just can't see why they would do that.or publishers blocking games.
It already got MS a purchase. I just bought my 3rd copy of Mass Effect because I am impatient.
(Bought a digital copy for $20, because I would be able to install it even though I am not in the preview program)
b) the bad press for blocking the games
That's apparently the one game it doesn't work with. They stated that as a known issue.
Unfortunately, they may not have much to worry about with this one. There's a good chance MS won't throw any of them under the bus by declaring the game as "blocked" and it'll just sit on the feedback pile indefinitely.
Like with the pre-180 DRM stuff.. you think that wasn't something many publishers were pushing for (I mean, look at some of the measure attempted last gen to curb resales)? However when all the backlash came, they all turned into Justin Timberlake after the Superbowl.
It might have been a "locked" save by the developer. It is an option that devs could do, but few did.
I can't see publishers giving a crap
You still have to own the game. Its not like MS is giving away the 360 library
Now, it may be the Publishers will use it as a "bonus". ie Fallout 4 comes with the 360 version of Fallout 3
Might see more of that stuff
How can i download x360 GwG games?

Interested to hear if this works for anyone else that isn't in the preview program (and apologies if it has been reported, haven't seen it anywhere yet).
Note: I've asked for an invite in the preview thread, but haven't yet received a message or app to join the xbox one preview program.
I was able to access the BC 360 games on my Xbox One by doing the following:
1. Find a user who has played a BC 360 game on their XB1 (Major Nelson has Mass Effect in his list for example).
2. Make sure you are following them as a friend.
3. Go to your Friends tab on the xbox one dash and go to the 'Popular with friends' section
4. Find the 360 game and click into it
5. You should then have view in store, install etc options
This has worked for me for Hexic HD, Perfect Dark and Mass Effect (all digitally purchased previously)
So have there been a ny new news or updates about bc games coming out soon?
We really need the OP to be updated with new information and games if they've been released.

Have they mentioned any performance improvements? I only remember them showing off sceenshots and game DVR and online play across Xbone and Xbox 360 (very nice).I hope this feature improves the load times for Bethesda games.
Browse to xbox.com on the xbox one to buy 360 games. Simple.
It's basically a 360.

But anything specific about load times or extra AA or resolution bumps or anything?
