Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Good LORD I CAN'T STOP LOSING gah these Turf War maps... Japanese rollers and e-litres TOTALLY annihilating me. I swtiched from the .52 Gal to the Aerospray MG to no avail. I even tried the Splat Roller for a bit.

Ugh, I was doing so good this weekend, too.

The way I figured out how to play with the brush is really simple, you gotta be sneaky, go on high platforms to spread ink all around more fast but not for too long as you'd become a target, and try to get as close as possible from your target while moving a lot and being sneaky (again lol). Like literally hitting him with your brush (like a samurai sword!).
I say this because the closer you get, the hardest will be for them to aim at you, and you will kill them way way faster.
Just my 2 cents

Man, I wonder what is going on. Having a lot more really laggy people in my game tonight than I have in a while. Its getting pretty frustrating.

If you're geared for ambush you definitely don't need ninja squid as much and cold blooded could be a worthwhile swap. You just need to find spots that people won't think about inking. Maybe it's even worth it to walk over enemy ink just to get that one puddle to hide in. While you'll never be invisible while you're hiding on walls, I'm sure someone could take it to the next level and find walls that no one ever looks at or makes no sense to look at unless you're scoping 360 degrees, and gently hold up to stay in place. Ambushes on the well-trodden paths are definitely very hit and miss since it only works If the person is rushing by.. which is often why I'm susceptible for ambushes, I have no patience to go through paths slowly.

Yeah but a good Dynamo user wont stay still at one platform. I'm always changing from high place to high place, spreading as much ink I can with the shot gun move, and keeping myself as a squid to avoid being targeted.
I'm surprised that as a Dynamo I barely use the actual roll of the roller, only when I know I'm completely safe, or inside friendly lines.

Yep. Even if you can force the move with a Suction Bomb, the question would become what you can actually do once they've moved down to the gates or even the ground. Even the rectangular nature of the floors if problematic because if a Dynamo just splashes toward you, you can't really approach. You could do a seeker or maybe a couple of bombs to make him back up or pivot temporarily. But no flanking options.

On the Skatepark, you almost have to have access to your side hallway (and corner), if only to force the Dynamo to keep rotating around. Maybe just park a Squelcher or Tentatek there to fire into the abyss for awhile.

(I like how I'm just picturing this imaginary scenario in my head of this amazing Dynamo roller and what he would do if this-or-this-or-this-or-this happened. You can picture what the situation looks like in your head but figuring out the solution is tricky.)

i really, REALLY want to be able to weapon switch without leaving the lobby. ead plz
I agree, but weirdly enough I find kinda reassuring that I need to keep using the weapon I chose as the same as my opponents. Specially since the teams are always on rotation.
Like "damn he killed me so much with that charger, I'm gonna do my best to destroy him next match" and I know he will be playing with a charger for sure.
But yeah, it would be nice to be able to change weapons, and sets too, though I dunno if it would make things too time consuming.

Ranked up to B! Everyone else on my team was a roller, I'm amazed we won. Beakons proving to be one of the most useful subs.

Also I'm 4 for 4 on Urchan Underpass being the stage I rank up on.

I suck at using paintbrush. :V
I sucked too, but I had my revelation today. All the pieces fell together at the right place, now I just gotta improve from that.
Doing 10+ kills and 1100+ every match with the brush is so cool!

Damn guys, gotta go, 1:10 am here and I got a shitload of thing to do in the morning... GGs

While not really an ambush, I've managed to successfully ink the elevators going up on Saltspray Rig from the bottom and pretend I'm headed up that way, while quickly climbing the pipes instead to catch enemy squids looking down shooting at the platform. Making successful ambushes requires a lot of creativity. The side of pipes are also very good hiding spots I think.

You can't even get close to hit him with something like the splattershot pro though without walking in enemy ink if he's doing his job constantly flicking. The elevation plus long range splashes can even deny the standard charger from reaching him.
That's why I usually sacrifice my third Damage Uo for bomb throw up. The throwing range becomes about as long as the standard Charger range. Now dealing with him on the ground is a different story.
Whoa GAF is online tonight?
GAF is almost always on at night. =D

Try switching to a weapon with longer range. I think you might find more success by switching to the tentatek or Splatter Shot forge. Going from .52 to aerospray doesn't net you anything but faster ink spreading. You lose your power and your accuracy and it sounds like you're dying a lot.

Remember to stay out of line of sight from charger, and even if they're not aiming at you, assume that they will be. Try to out range the rollers and stay away from enemy ink. Not sure if it'll help but it's worth a shot.

I modified UncleSporky's spreadsheet for Gear Inventory and came up with this. Sorry that it looks ugly, but I like my color-coded stuff lol. Also haven't really used Excel for these kind of things in a while, so my formatting may be wonky.

Google Doc link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17KwX7JMF_HGE3ygoZiHIWBIN1RB4Lc6Li4Ynu_ko5B4/edit?usp=sharing

Just make a copy or download as an Excel file or something.

Though it seems Google Docs doesn't like some of my formatting so here is a direct download link: https://mega.co.nz/#!FB8TlCKR!WRDNqFFdQaRcax2rVMy-7ZgrsnCzpP1OOEC_bCp9Ccw

With that, you can enter a check mark by entering in a single digit number in the B column.

I used the info from here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...tFvYXkYGSZGg4AsrTI_2veUlbs/edit#gid=602024490

I may have made mistakes, so sorry in advance.

^^Thanks man.

Edit: lol, Takoroka only has one hat but has the highest chance for me to roll a triple Special Charge Up sub ability as a brand. What kind of luck man... If it had a hat with Ink Saver Main, I'd be so in there.

I think the thing I love the most about this game is the creative ways you can influence the neutral/grounds around you before skirmishes really take off. One of my favorite setups on Saltspray was throwing a Sprinkler down on one elevator then hiding on the other. When people ran to fire at the Sprinkler (three people including a ninja dynamo roller that thought it was a teammate), I immediately got one of my favorite three-fers by splatting two Aerospray users and scaring the Dynamo Roller into doing a jump back flick only to miss and fall into the little pit between the two elevators.

On a similar note, I found out some really kooky places you can put sprinklers by accident today. Putting one on the absolute apex of the telephone/utility poles on Urchin Underpass is one part mad science one part "why didn't I do that before?" :lol

Nice, I like

Y'all must be in ranked then...

Anyway, jumping on turf if anyone cares to join me.

This was weird.

So I was playing on Walleye Warehouse, right? I get killed, and I respawn. I take one step out of my spawn, and I'm inked and dead by an Aerospray....yet no one's anywhere near our spawn. When it does the kill cam thing, the whole thing just rotates like crazy back to the other team's spawn. I respawn, take a step out of the spawn...and I'm inked again. Camera does the same thing. I respawn and just sit there until a team mate spawns. Girl with a roller spawns, steps out of the spawn....boom. She explodes. I then leave the spawn, and it lets me. Same dude's name every time. (It was in Kanji, although I don't know what it said.

It was the weirdest thing. I tried to grab my phone to take a picture/video, but it was near the end of the match and I've no idea where it went. Next match, it didn't happen at all (different map) even though he was on the other team. Totally weird.

Probably just a weird hiccup or something. The match was pretty laggy.

It was the 6 lag rollers you had on your team, yes they lag so bad there are 6 of them, that won you the game.

On a serious note one of them keeps killing me through the damn blocks on port

Yeah, one of them got me a ton. Yesterday some Japanese Dynamo destroyed me over and over.

I posted this screenshot on miiverse earlier but felt I had to share it more.
