Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I feel so immensley defeated between yesterday's session and today's session... It knocked my desire to play right out of me. Maybe it's a sign from the universe saying to stop playing Splatoon for a while. I've played every day since launch for varying hours. You'd think I would've develop some form of consistency. No way would I have imagined dipping so low in skill. It was like it was my first time picking up a Charger. I couldn't even abuse my bombs correctly.

That defeat theme has been hammered into my brain so hard... I don't even remember what the stage music sounds like anymore (exaggeration).

Oh well. Time to do something productive. Gonna draw a Miiverse post.

So you know, there are currently 8 stages available, and you have access to all of them, but the game is on a 2 stage per four hour rotation. At level 10 you'll unlock splat zones, which has it's own stage rotation, so most of the time it will double the number of stages you can play at a given time.
 
I've been playing with a different group so far but I want to branch out and face some different people. Who are the best players on GAF right now?

nah, I'm the only one using this connection. I do seem to get lag spikes rather frequently though, one moment everything is alright and the next my hits take seconds to register and I start shooting people around corners
 
I've been neglecting Ranked Battle, but my Turf War game is on point! I'm consistently pulling over 1000p, even on the losing team! Gonna have to get in the GAF games again.

I know I'd do poorly on ranked so I'm still doing the turf war thing. Eventually though I'll have to go to ranked if only to see how it is.
 
If it makes you guys feel better - when I play Turf Wars I end up one of the people with the least amount of points on the team. Only top scorer if my team looses.

Oh man a few days ago I played a splatzone match on Bluefin and superjumped to a sniper on one of the big ramps over the middle, and when I turned around to try to get the momentum to jump over to the zone I misjudged my angle and fell right off the ramp into the water immediately after landing. So embarrassing :(

Thankfully I redeemed myself in a later match by taking out someone going after that same sniper and even got a booyah from him

It's hard. By the time I have enough freedom to look at my map I can't even tell who it was who did it
 
Wow, that's a first. All four members of the opposite team actually took the time out to kill me individually. Don;'t know if honored or salty. :lol
 
If I posted a (poorly) drawn picture of DJ Octavio without marking it as spoilers, will I get banned from Miiverse?

By the way, shoutouts to the good Miiverse artists. It's hard to draw on that thing, especially without a table.

Not me at the moment. I'm playing like I've just picked up the game. =/ Just playing on a demoralizing horribad streak right now.
 
I've put about 46 hours into multiplayer (45 or so with the Krakon Roller) and started the single player campaign last night.

I just beat the first boss and I've got to say I'm very impressed with the single player mode so far. The music, level design and enemy encounters have been great. Heard it only gets better.

yeah the single player is really fun. the highlights for me were the bosses (the final one especially) and finding all of the levels in the overworld. I liked how they expanded on that as you unlock each new area.

I hope in time some of the platforming obstacles will make their way into the Multiplayer

There should really be tiered levels where there is Splatzones you could only reached by platforming across rotating obstacles. Obviously levels which utilizes the Sponges and Ink Tubes. Thus allowing people who are good at platforming be essential on such maps
 
DaBoss, you see now how hard it is to move/get started with Echolocation going off everywhere? I need a witness testimony for Walkman. :P

This scroll was found in a deep rock layer, it's age estimated at approximately 2,000 years. It details the ancient Turf Wars of the time. It seems the basic four-versus-four battle format had already been established at this stage.

I think you can use any weapon in any role, but with 3 minutes, I feel these breakdowns of the guns shows where they're most effective. For instance, the dynamo has great coverage, but needs good technique and maybe some ink saving buffs to cover an area as quickly as even a beginning roller.
 
GAF, any tips for handling japanese Dynamo Rollers, especially japanese ones, besides leaving the room when they appear? :(

Run away, make new ink ground, prepare for the worst, bombs if you got them to flush them out of the ink, disruptors are better, but mostly run. Live to paint elsewhere, not like they can catch you. Even taking the high ground is actually putting yourself in OHK range.

Nah you missed it. We had a blowout fight on Mall a few matches back with my team having a DC and two players in the mid 300s point score wise then I got the highest score of anyone in the match by 100+. If Da didn't catch on, I probably could have tipped the scales. :lol

except for Heng ;)

I don't play with gaffers that often (mostly just play randoms), but from the games I've played, the ones I don't really want to fight because I'd probably get destroyed would be: SM239, Heng, and Sendou. And maybe Walkman (when he's not using gyro).

Violet is also terrifying, but in a different way.

EDIT: Forgot about Grakl. Only played a few matches against, but they were all really one-sided.

My seekers are not very useful against then, since they always jump to kill. Bombs would definitely help.

You did name some good SplatGAF players though. I don't know if I've played with Heng or not yet.

It's only a bit harder. You just can't really attack sneakily when Echolocator is up. You have to get them from above.
