I've never actually seem a company be this bad at PR
It's really impressive
It's kinda funny this has all originated from an ex-gaming journalist.

I highly doubt any regular destiny player will only buy the $40 TTK expansion alone now. so more extra $20 for Bungie
Considering the sales and general positive opinion of Destiny, I feel like a stronger case could be made that we are disconnected![]()
this is a correct summary of the situation.Let me get this straight - this "massive" expansion is $40, or 2/3 the cost of the full game, and then some emotes and shaders are $20, or 1/2 the cost of the entire expansion?
Did I miss something? So to get the expansion AND the CE content you're paying $60, aka the same price as the full game?
Thinking a leaked image would remain 100% true was your first mistake.
Here the graph about the previous issue.

Now it is fixed.
What is the other issue? The overpriced? I don't see this like a issue at all... it is like to say iPhone is overpriced compared with Android phones.

*raises hand*
Yep, except new players can pay $80 for the base game and all expansions + emotes and shaders.
this is a correct summary of the situation.
Keep in mind the first two expansions were $20 each. Bungie must not think highly of the content of their expansions when they're equal value to some class items, shaders and dance moves.
You made itDamn. That's a nice effin graph.
oh wowDid you honestly come on here to type that? Nothing better to do on a Wednesday night than complain about DLC for a title you don't even care for, eh? You're going to fit in well here along with all the others who cried to the heavens of the social injustice of their being denied emotes, class items and shaders. Items they were apparently owed for playing a videogame.
The hundreds of hours of entertainment (even over a thousand for some of us) we've gleamed from Destiny for less than a hundred bucks (including both TDB and HoW), that's all well and good... but what have you done for me lately, Bungie?
And so they listened. And when try to give those who screamed to the stars what they asked for at a meager cost?
"How dare I be asked to pay for this, I am outraged, sir... OUTRAGED!"
Sadly, Bungie can't win with many of you. If you're so offended, if you're this entitled, maybe just don't buy TTK?

People who comes into threads to dump on the original release of Destiny when they have no interest in it are dumb.Did you honestly come on here to type that? See my edit.
YOU may be paying $60
Everyone else outside of the US is paying $94.
oh wow
this is some hilarious corporate ass-kissing.
I don't get the graph. Why is Destiny and its two expansions valued at 20 dollars? I paid closer to 100.

Value over time. According to Bungie, Destiny + TDB + HoW is worth $20.
So their "fix" is charging $20 for a few shaders and a dance animation?

Respond to my post then.Oh, wow... another entitled gamer that can only respond to an opinion that differs from his own with name calling, and insults.
That was completely unexpected.
Give me a break. Everyone assumed expansions came with a Raid. They didn't even announce it would not have a Raid until a month before release. I get it, you like the game but cmon now. They have not done ONE consumer friendly thing since release and that PLANNED Raid was held back. That leaked image was a presentation, not some photoshop dude somewhere.
When Bungie offers shit on a platter, people aren't obliged to enjoy it.Oh, wow... another entitled gamer that can only respond to an opinion that differs from his own with name calling, and insults.

@RaphLife
Breaking News: #thelongdark is also $20, like Destiny's xtra stuff, and runs well on both @steam_games and @Xbox, unlike Arkham. Just sayin'
People who comes into threads to dump on the original release of Destiny when they have no interest in it are dumb.
People who are willing to white knight for a $20 DLC pack of emotes and shaders - the same price as a full-fledged expansion - are toxic.
A "meager cost". $20 for a handful of shaders, emotes, and three pieces of gear...
It doesn't matter if you felt The Dark Below or House of Wolves were worth $10, $20, $40, $100. Whatever you or any gamer individually feels they are worth, the fact is they were priced at $20. That was Bungie and Activision's evaluation.
Bungie and Activison are now trying to tell us that a handful of shaders, emotes, and gear are worth that exact same amount. A handful of shaders, emotes, and gear are allegedly worth the same as a handful of shaders, dozens of pieces of armor and guns, new missions, new strikes, and either a new raid or a battle arena.
It's fucking ludicrous. And you have to know it.
And don't bother replying, "Well don't buy it." That bridge was approached and passed hours ago. Everyone understands the act of voting with wallets. That will happen here, for better or worse.
But that doesn't mean we should stay silent at absurd value proposition Bungie and Activision are proposing here.
They need to offer the pack for $5 or free, or throw a hell of a lot more in it, and they need to do it fast. It's just a flabbergasting insult to do otherwise.
The Long Dark devs takin shots at both Destiny and Arkham

Again... you needn't purchase the emotes, shaders and exotic class items Bungie is now offering you outside of the collector's edition. You do understand that this is an optional standalone purchase, correct?
so exactly what people were asking for?
So, let me get this right:
-The 'Taken King' expansion is going to be 20 bucks now
-The 'Collectors' Items are also 20 bucks
-Working out pricing systems for all buyers
I like how "Why do loyal players who have played since day 1 have to repurchase content that we already own for shaders, emotes, and emblems?" turned into "Why do loyal players who have played since day 1 have to buy these shaders, emotes, and emblems?"
It's $40
