CRYING

So many onions.

I-I never thought this day would come.
Mark it down for the history books everyone 2015/06/26 the day democracy faltered, the day our values were destroyed, the day the rebellious youth went against morals and human decency, against all that is holy and pure.

Poe's law? I mean, I can't tell anymore because of a couple of other posters in here.

Conservative talk here in Dallas is in shambles. Some redneck called in comparing gay people to dogs and that Texas should secede
Why would you subject yourself to such drivel? Unless it's for the laughs I suppose. I am very happy for this ruling. I just wish my family weren't so stupid and on the wrong side of history in this case.

I don't really see what "THE GAYS GETTING MARRIED WILL LEAD TO FIRE AND BRIMSTONE AND THE END OF DAYS" is going to add to a discussion.

How hilarious and awesome would it be though if suddenly all the gays turned into rainbow dragons.

Would give me an excuse to ride one

Why do you think Creationism = Christian?

in the US creationism is explicitly Christian. but of course not every Christian is a creationist. at least as far as evolution is concerned. there's still the whole problem of god creating everything.

but more to the point the venn diagram of creationists and anti-gay bigots overlaps a lot.

So my only question is is there anything left to do in terms of legal rights for folks of differing orientations in the US, or is it just celebration time now?

Jokes on you Gays, Marriage is for dumb-dumbs!!
Seriously though it's a fine fucking day for the U.S. Your Canadian brothers are proud.
Thanks Obama.
Seriously.

But shouldn't said populace have some say in the matter?

Not on human rights, no. I may be much more critical of liberalism than most here (being a socialist) but one thing that the founding fathers got right in particular was that some things should not be left up to democracy, which is the purpose of having a republic. Now other reasons as to why they wanted such a thing (for the sake of protecting their property interests), that's another matter for another thread.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Congratulations! I didn't think it would get passed so soon. America is following in the foot steps of Fire Emblem Fates. That said, there's still a lot to do to stop discrimination of homosexuals.

Now then, time to enjoy some bigot tears.

Yeah Obama's speech sounded sort of off. That's ok. Can't give winning speeches all the time.

I liked the bit early on about it removing the patchwork of laws and removing the uncertainty. Kinda batting down the states rights bullshit on this issue early on.

What a wonderful day. Being married to a loving partner has propelled my life to heights I couldn't have imagined alone. Cheers to those who fought to make this happen and can now enter into a commitment too many take for granted.

There is something ironic in believing that past human institutions carry weight simply because they existed. Sort of says a lot about a person's world view.

Eh, Roberts' dissent is lip service in an effort to try and repair some of his reputational damage from the ACA ruling yesterday, he even congratulated gay couples in his verbal remarks.

I fully believe that if his vote was needed for a majority he would've swallowed his pride and done the right thing. He didn't need to, though, so he didn't.

Why would you subject yourself to such drivel? Unless it's for the laughs I suppose. I am very happy for this ruling. I just wish my family weren't so stupid and on the wrong side of history in this case.

I guess I like to debate with them internally. Provides laughter and self gratification. I guess its a form of voyeurism (minus the sex).

The criminalization of Christianity has begun. Gas chambers are the future.

More anti-logic from the court as the true agenda of eliminating and invalidating all private relationships i.e. the family.

The State shall be the only parent.

Almost 14 years ago I was walking by a set of tv monitors as Americans watched a political 9/11 unfolding…….today…..in the same place ironically, watching a CULTURAL 9/11.

Fundamentally transformed, un-moored from our past we are adrift and headed for the rocks on the shore, with a Captain and crew more than willing to crash on the shore, and then rebuild the ship the way they want.

Churches, schools, textbooks, business, mosques, synagogues, summer camps for kids, zoning.

Thank you Justice Kennedy, you served your homosexual mentor in California well.

God help us.

Let the queers, thieves and murderers [do their] worst. I still have control over my own life. For now.

Civil War is now beyond avoidable.
.
.
Homosexuality will never be accepted by a majority of citizens as a valid, legitimate, normal activity, or state of condition.
.
Having just any relationship, between any two consenting adults, be recognized by all of society as a ‘marriage’ is not a right.

Christian Colleges will no longer be able to accept financial aid meaning most students will not able to afford attendance.

Campus Christian Clubs will be shut-down – Kai Alpha, etc.

Volunteer hours for high school graduation will not be able to do any work for faith groups that don’t accept gay marriage even if they feed hungry people.

It is now illegal and immoral to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in the United States of America.

I actually have chills, this is a big deal. The church will probably grow since it is going underground like in Communist Countries as the persecution ramps up.

Um, 90% of the time when you hear about molestation cases it’s homosexual… The most common heterosexual scenarios usually involve a 20 year old with a 16 year old or something that isn’t really all that creepy…

hawkdriver on June 26, 2015 at 10:34 AM
Actually, I welcome it. Because now we can drop the damn pretense and start the battle for what this has really been about all along. A right to exist as people of faith in the US. It’ll boil down to the oppressive gay agenda and churches and people of faith.

Definitely a hill I can take some solace in defending. To whatever end.

Rnb, this ruling hurts you, though you are too stupid to realize it yet. Yes, this will materially damage society. There will be many more psychology damaged children growing up into less productive and more criminal adults, and a raft of other subtle depredations of the moral order.
