Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

If you're down by a lot that's different, true. It sucks to have your teammates just sitting back when your team doesn't even have 40% of the map with 30 seconds left.

Yea, I know about spacing and all that, I'm literally talking about making up ground in the end.

Gyro controls are completely superior to dual stick controls.

The problem is; people keep confusing functionally with familiarity.

I wasn't a fan of gyro controls - and probably will never be in general - but with Splatoon, I am. Initially, I didn't want to invest the time get used to them(cause I assumed it would have taken much longer), but even then, I could already see how vastly superior they were to dual analog.

I urge any doubters to conduct their own aiming experiments in the test mode. Go see how quickly each control method allows you to hit targets back to back. Or throw bombs in the basketball net.

The single player really tunes you up, without you even realizing how much better you get. It's a very natural process. You just suddenly come back to the online portion as though you've been through months of training. Out of curiosity, does anyone who play in GAF matches use dual analog?(rollers don't count). I'd imagine they'd get owned pretty easily.

Guys, I think Octopolis is actually Hyrule.

They have very similar alphabets. And inklings are either Hylians (same ears) or some kind of Zora race.

I do though I should really move to gyro as I feel the skill ceiling is higher.

Correct

Any impressions on the nerfs?
Ninja Squid is slow enough now that it's pretty easy to tell the difference between having it and not having it just by eyeballing it, but it's fast enough that it's still good. Probably somewhere in the 80% to 90% speed range now.

Stealth Jump allegedly sucks but I didn't test it myself.

I think IRU is shit now but it could be just me.

I don't see how gyro could be superior to dual analog when it comes to a console shooter. Not saying someone can't be great with them, but dual analog is the way to go with console shooters.

Even in Gears of War I'm using the other analog to watch my back, look at my surroundings and see what's going on.

Nothing can convince me that gyro controls are better.

Also, loving ranked. Glad I finally hit level 10.

Just like a mouse and keyboard is better than dual sticks, so is the gyro. The gyro has more degrees of precision and allows for more accuracy, as well as faster reactions, than dual sticks ever could.

Everything you can do with dual sticks you can do with gyro controls, and better.

@ above poster -- then you're just close minded, which is cool, but then you're willing to play with an inferior control scheme "just cuz" which is pretty funny tbh
lol

You basically have 3 analog sticks over 2. The 2 you usually use + a third one for added accuracy. It´s actually close to a keyboard mouse setup.
