Gamescom: Microsoft press conference (August 4; Scalebound, Crackdown, QB, H5+ more)

Not open for further replies.
You're already wrong. GOW has been speculated to be at PSX, Level 5, inhouse Japan Studio game and possibly DQ11 at TGS and QD's game at Paris at their own home. It's just hilarious wishful thinking. But lets keep this in topic rather than your hopes and dreams.

What does any of this have to do with Gamescom or Microsoft?

This show is going to be good. A next gen Crackdown and Scalebound with QB could make this a better show then E3. Plus whatever else they have to announce. Fun times ahead!

Showing 3 already announced games absolutely does not make it a better show than E3. If they combine those 3 games with new game announcements, then it has a good chance.

2016 is already looking better than 2015 for Xbox. QB, Scalebound, Crackdown, ReCore, Gears 4, Forza Horizon 3, Cuphead, for starters. Also possibly Sea of Thieves, Battletoads, Ashen, Ion, with possible surprises. I know one should keep ones expectations in check, but damn! It's looking to be a great year.

We haven't even seen 2/3 of these games and have barely seen anything from QB lol. E3 wasn't all that exciting In Terms of anything gameplay wise. Announcements are ok, showing trailers are ok, gameplay is where it's at.

There is a Battletoads coming for the Xbox One? Why the hell did I miss that??

I am excited to see new things about Scalebound and Crackdown. Crackdown could be such a killer IP if they had the funding and talent of Rockstar.

Gotta agree, Cracckdown could be huge with the investment and the right studio behind it.

I'm not getting the Quantum break love. I've watched everything I can and that game looks horrid and repetitive. Is there some good footage that I may have missed floating around?

My interest solely comes from the fact that it's a Remedy game and the story and TV show stuff sound nuts. I actually think the gameplay they've shown so far looks pretty dull and rote, but I adore Remedy's games so I remain optimistic.

Yeah, you definitely might be right. I liked max Payne and such, but my tastes have changed. I was hoping maybe there was some New footage I may have missed, but I'll just wait until gamescom and see. Thanks for your reply, not trying to flame the game.

Don't mention it. Different strokes for different folks.

What does any of this have to do with Gamescom or Microsoft?

It's only relevant because I said that Sony blew their load at E3 and wouldn't have anything else to show for the rest of the year. Justifiably I was called out with great speed.

We've seen quite a lot of Quantum Break? We know what Crackdown will be like, so Scalebound is the only real unknown here. Either way, new game announcements are far more exciting than gameplay for already announced games.

So, is this the only conference at GC?

I think so.

Phil Spencer has only been the head of Xbox for a little over a year now, so realistically - we will not have begun to see his vision of Xbox until around next year or so. He's definitely steered the ship in the right direction though.

He was already general manager and vice president of Microsoft Studios before though, so in terms of Microsoft Studios first-party games, I don't think much of that vision will change since he was probably already responsible for overseeing and/or greenlighting most or some of the first-party games that have been in production since then, like Quantum Break and maybe Scalebound.

I think a Season 3 for Killer Instinct will be announced either here or at Evo '15. My predictions for the roster are the two remaining KI2 characters (Kim Wu and Tusk), Eyedol, Gargos, two new characters, and Joanna Dark and one of the Battletoads for guest appearances.

$20 for everyone, $30 for everyone and the bonus costumes and add-ons and whatnot. There's no additional retro game to put on there, since KI Gold, Battletoads, Perfect Dark and PD Zero are all on Rare Replay, so the all-in-one pack should be cheaper to compensate.

I probably wait most for Crackdown 3 from all this games but I am really curious how Scalebound will look. I need some new IPs on that console.

So at E3 we got Tomb Raider,Forza 6,Halo 5 and Gears 4 and now we're getting QB,Scalebound and Crackdown.Out of all the first parties,MS probably has the most AAA exclusives coming up,this show is gonna be great.

We really haven't seen a lot of QB. LOL We've seen nothing of other two titles. Maybe short CG trailers is all it takes for you, great for you. For me, seeing the actual games is more important and way more exciting. Not sure what you are on about.

I think Phils been in that sort of position for a long while, I saw a quote a while back where he spoke about sometimes getting it wrong in relation to Rime, and regretted passing on guitar hero in hindsight.

Unless he meant Microsoft in general passed on Guitar Hero before his time.

We had a 10 minute demo of QB last year.

I'm sorry, but from what I saw, amazing is hardly the word I'd used to describe that footage. As I said, maybe I saw some older stuff. I am genuinely shocked when people hype it up. It looked extremely linear and it didn't suck me in. Not trying to be an ass really, why I asked for any footage that may be worth a watch.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me and I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything.

all right, I was contesting the term "horrid". Which, to me, represents something barely unwatchable...
And with amazing I was referring to the graphics. The rest is very hidden right now, even if a conversation I had some time ago with the dev team makes me optimistic to say the least about the game.

There's only 15 minutes of gameplay of 1 small section. How can you base anything off of that

What would be the chance of seeing the twisted pixel game?
Idk, Phil said in an interview that it is really important to them to not show it until it is ready because people's first impression of what a game is, is very important.

So anyways we really don't know...they have been working on it since end of 2013 though, so it should be about 1.5 yrs along development....so hopefully we will see it soon.

Can somebody ask Phil via Twitter to see if ReCore will appear in GC conference?

I do hope there will more 1st party games to be announced.

If its releasing in spring 2016 as they stated. Then it has to be there.

Did you bother reading literally a few posts beforehand? I think MS will have a good show. I could care less for Crackdown, but Scaledown is one of the most hyped up games for next gen and I want to see more of QB. Hopefully it isn't during work time and it's on a weekend.

You could use "linear" to describe a lot of great games such as Uncharted, or Bioshock....

People like myself are excited because you get these cool time powers not really seen in any other 3rd person game which makes it Unique, and if you have played Allen Wake, you would hopefully agree that Sam lake is an excellent story teller, and we are hoping that will show in the game.

If this type of game is just not your cup of tea though, then I understand, but ai personally love what they showed.

If Scalebound is shown last, it will probably be the heavy hitter that Kamiya deserves. Xbox hasn't has a good hack and slash since Ninja Gaiden.

With ScaleBound, Crackdown and QB at E3, MS press conference should have been a far more better show. I was not disappointed when they announced there absence because I was expecting them to use the bonus time to make a lot of new announcements... But that was a mistake. Too many talk about EA Access and Minecraft Hololens.

Now, GC will probably be the best show from MS this year. ScaleBound, Crackdown, Quantum Break, ReCore (which released Spring 2016), probably a new (solid) Halo presentation, RTOR, Forza, Fable... What a great line up from fall 2015 to fall 2016...

So many Exclusive games coming out and through out 2016!!! I LOVE IT !!!!! So the genres they are hitting so far are....

First Person Shooter
Third Person Shooter
RACING
PLATFORMER
ACTION/ADVENTURE
SideScroller Shooter?*
Exploration?*
Simulation?*
MOBA?*

.. actually i can't think of other genres that some of those indies fall into. Because some are just magical and i can't pinpoint a genre on them.

My only wish is that some type of RPG would be in the mix, as an exclusive (sniff mass effect/bioshock) ;)
Mistwalker, save us? Come back to Console? :D jk i know they're busy with Tera Battle lol

Yes we have, we've had like 30 minutes of footage. You're not sure what I'm on about? Seeing new games being announced is far more exciting than seeing gameplay for something that was announced last year. Pretty simple really.

I'd much rather see a new game announced than Quantum Break gameplay. Give me a release date for that and we're done.

Good god the hyperbole. It looks graphically amazing, the mechanics are interesting and since Remedy is working on in, it's bound to have a really good story. Come on, it might turn out not great, but horrid it's just wrong.

I agree QB looked amazing, i love everything they showed, from the time powers puzzle elements to the shooting/time power mechanics, and with Remedy you know the story will be a good one :)

I disagree.
H5
G4
Tomb Raider all were mediocre reveals at best.

We already know QB looks amazing and Scalebound has incredible potential.
I am way more excited for Gamescom.
