I hope the new characters for SFV are interesting. The only new ones I really liked from IV were Hakan and Juri. Viper is a marvel character, Abel is boring as shit, Rufus is a dive kick character, and fuerte is such a shitty designed character that I wouldn't even wish him upon anime players.

Given how SFV is shaping up, I don't think we will see someone like Fuerte. Zero fundamentals in that guy.

Damn, but it's weird because you usually see betas go out for longer than 5 days.. Guess they don't want people to get too much of a taste of the game. And for sm4sh I find default Palutena boring and I see the writing on the wall for customs so I'm bored of no customs metagame (at least for Palutena)..

There's another one for "the rest of the world" on PS4 later, where sign up isn't linked to preordering. They're definitely doing this to actually test the netcode, not just to bully people into preordering.

Shorter betas will also help with stress tests as there is less time for people to play so they won't just wait until the weekend to try a glorified demo or whatever.

Nah, the initial betas where developers are just trying to test the netcode usually goes like this. They just need to see how the netcode hold up, I assume there will be longer ones closer to release.

Summary:

The interviewer actually decided to buy two passes for EVO: one for himself, and one for Kuroda(including entry for SF4). They haven't bought airfare yet, though it seems like he's up for sponsoring the entire ordeal for Kuroda.

The kicker: Kuroda suddenly has a huge change of heart and says he doesn't want to go to EVO. He starts making up excuses like "my sickly condition could worsen if I go" and "just thinking of the word 'foreign country' is giving me an allergic reaction". Money is obviously not an issue, and the interviewer is stressing that this isn't about trying to win or even forcing him to interact with people all that much. For some reason Kuroda has massive jitters about all of this and says he doesn't want to go. One thing to note is that Kuroda has never been anywhere outside of Japan, so if anything he could be incredibly nervous about traveling abroad.

Hopefully we'll be getting an update on the issue next week.

Look at the lineup for Playstation All Star something something and tell me Sony has plenty of high profile characters to contribute.

Cole from Infamous, Kratos, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Raiden and Sweet Tooth, that's about it. You need way more than that. Not even counting characters like Nathan Drake that would have the most boring movesets imaginable.
