I'm not certain this is so easy when you're a lesser known person who doesn't want to be seen as the one making a scene.
I mean, we can blame them for being in this situation but before that (in order) Suydam might have avoided acting like a jerk and the con might have managed the situation, it's their role to deal with this kind of dumb drama.
At least Comic Twitter can be good for some things:

Next con he's invited to they should just give him a single table, apart from the rest of the artists off in a corner somewhere.
He's an established artist that stole business from three other artists who are kinda up and coming.

He's pretty talented when he tries but yes, his more recent body of work has included a lot of lazy stuff like that. He's also responsible for this infamous Wolverine cover:

It's been said here, but speaking out against another creator in the industry can be a problem for some people. Especially if you're relatively new/unknown going up against someone more established.

In my experience running tables in various artist alleys, it's sometimes very difficult to voice complaints to con organizers and even harder to get something enforced. Artist Alley is most often of the bottom of the priority list of MANY conventions.

Amazing how many people think that people should resort to a physical altercation by going and throwing his stuff off the table and taking those tables back. Because I'm sure that is what aspiring artists want, to be associated with a physical incident over some tables like school kids. Even if the guy taking the tables is wrong it still looks bad on you. Also wasting time on attacking the guys reputation is a lost cause. He doesn't strike me as the type that really cares. Best bet is to get other people in the industry involved and even fans and put heat on the organizers of this event. If they're not going to do whats right then make them sweat until they give into the bad pr and step in and do something. Even with backlash some people simply won't care though.

Dorkin putting the fine point on what I said last page: The industry is relatively small, and incestuous as fuck, and people are non-confrontational because you often have no idea if you're about to talk yourself out of a job you want later, a job you didn't even know you aced yourself out of because the guy who knows the guy who is putting together the package heard you said some shit that neither of those guys like. Your ability/skills don't matter, really.

I met Mark Waid many years ago at San Diego Comic Con when Kingdom Come was out. He couldn't have been nicer and more gracious to me. Also he has been doing panels on Superman for years. He is a legitimate expert on the character.
The fact that he got so enraged at the depiction of Superman in Man of Steel shows how passionate he is about the character. I think any big comic fan can relate to that. It's not corny at all, its seeing something you really enjoy and know something about get tarnished. By the way, I didn't think that scene in Man of Steel wasn't that bad but I respect Waid for being so angry about it.
I think it's awesome that he is standing up for his fellow professionals who got screwed over by this artist who does trendy zombie comic art.

Crying about it online? When the con organizers didn't listen to them, they talked to the comic book press (which is mainly online) and other creators on twitter. What else do you want them to do?
According to Gaf, they were supposed to flip tables, make a scene, and risk their reputations in the industry.
