Agreed. Then the only left to do is to go all out from now till the end.

I mean, if you want to go all out, we can go all out

I pronounce it the same way, although, during a Sony interview, the guy called it Y..S net.

Yu Suzuki network i guess
Why-Es Net
Or you could read it like the Ys series of Videogames.
Yes, but I've always been confused by how sometimes the S is capitalized and other times it's not. It's mostly lower case from what I've seen. Net is clearly an English word, so it would make contextual sense for it to be Y's Net. Yu's Net.
And Why-Es Net sounds real close to wise net. Unless you really noticeably emphasize the Es.

Unlocking this mystery should be a stretch goal.

absolutely laughing my ass off at that sega tgs thread announcement. if they came out with that last month we'd have all been asking for shenmue 3.

feels damn good.

In a classic case of one part of Sega not knowing what the other is doing they'll announce their own Shenmue 3: Revengance at tgs.

Seeing the reflection of Awesome Japan's crew in the mirror next to Ali effectively photobombed the video. I was listening to him, but watching the guy behind the camera nodding.

Great to acknowledge the long-term fanbases! It's amazing how so many communities can stay together after fourteen years of doom and gloom.

Shenmue-GAF, you know what I've been doing constantly for the last hour? I ripped out a small, square piece of paper from a notebook and have been dropping it and trying to catch it with only my index finger and middle finger like Xiuying. It's really addictive and fun LOL. You guys should give it a try. :P

The Shenmue school bros (as they are now known) posted some posts regarding the response they've received out of their endeavor.
Other than some people being tritely cynical, it sounds like it's already proven to be a good decision, regardless of where Ys Net lands on their requests. Win-win for everyone. :D

During E3, I got to interview Sean Murray, No Man's Sky creator. And during said interview, we started talking about Shenmue, a series he's a big fan of. So I sent him a tweet today asking if he remembered to back Shenmue III on Kickstarter.

Here is his response: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/51936-pour-le-createur-de-no-man-s-sky-financer-shenmue-3-est-un-d

In short, he said that backing Shenmue III was his "duty." Thought you guys might like to read that :-).

Hahaha, that's awesome. Here is the pic of the tweet for anyone who can't access the page right now.

nice.

think we can get away with another thread on this subject? i think these pair deserve to be heard properly instead of the media playing with their words.

They need to do something here in the home stretch...perhaps t-shirts??? They could do a series of game specific ones...

"I'm looking for a Sailor"
"Thats cool!"
"Learn to drive a Forklift...ask me how!"

I'm honestly surprised that a t-shirt reward isn't already part of the KS...

Cool update. I've always wanted to see Shenmue 3 happen and am a big fan, but I've not had the sheer dedication of the people who've actively sustained a community and pushed forward for all these years. I'm happy for myself and others like me, but especially for those guys.

Sean Murray is the man. Without him there would be No Sky.

Lmao, Sean has an awesome face in that picture. His excitement is so contagious.

Already awesome Sean Murray just became a whole lot more awesome. What a champ.

I don't know. Probably ask a mod first.

From what I've seen the games media hasn't been negative or accidentally (or otherwise) omitted details that make things look potentially bad. It's just some readers reading into things and assuming the worst, probably because gaming communities are generally used to hearing from marketing campaigns rather than actual human beings.
I'm currently translating my interview with him and in it, we talk about Shenmue quite a bit. I'll share the link as soon as it's up.
Cool.

One of the fanart made me realize Lan Di and Ryo have a scar in the same place (the band-aid made me blind to it all these years) ~ either Ryo and Lan Di are supposed to be mirrors of one another or...and hear me out on this, Lan Di is Ryo FROM THE FUTURE!

This scene melts me. Absolutely melts me. One of my favourite songs too.

It's true. I felt like "the man" after I kicked everyone's butt in expert fashion and saved Nozomi. I really felt like I was Ryo at that moment. Heh, living the little boy's dream of saving the girl and acting cool while she melts in your arms. Sounds silly but it was damn nice in the game.

That's great man, I look forward to it.

And then she flies off to Canada and you never see her again.

SUZUKI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! :'(

It would be really sad if we didn`t hit the battle goals at this point. These are the only goals that could really have a huge impact on the gameplay.

Back in the day, I was a sucker for what I'd call the "box-art destined couple."

Even though they had no interaction at all, I liked Ryo and Shenhua just because, you know. The mystic of it. I somehow brainwashed myself to not care about Nozomi during my first playthrough of Shenmue because of it.

Ahhh, the mistakes of one's youth.

;p

It turns out Ryo had to kill his own father to preserve time and space as Ryo's dad dying is a fixed point in time.

The “infiltration mission” is actually the most intriguing to me, but my connection is personal. I got Shenmue 1 for Christmas the year it came out and I played as much as I could over Christmas break. I was 11, and it was absolutely mindblowing to me. I remember seeing previews for it on like G4TV and being like HOLYYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIII so I had to have it. Anyway, I crammed as much as possible into that marvelous five day window between Christmas and New Year’s because I was going on a vacation with a friend’s family for 10 days (!!) in early January. All I wanted to do was play Shenmue when I was on vacation. My grandpa passed away while I was on vacation though which they told me when I got back, so that kind of ruined everything. I didn’t play any game again for months until I finally picked up Shenmue and was on the infiltration mission when you have to sneak in to meet Master Chen. I must have failed like 20 times. I remember watching the day counter go up and up and up.

I guess that’s why I want to see what INFILTRATION MISSION means. Can’t wait to do that again.

Shenmue’s world + FREE music are what I go back to when I want to relax and remember being 11.
